Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa

Valerie was very knowledgeable and I had a very nice massage. She really could tell where my body was over compensating and where he knots were. They take spawish certs which I was glad to hear. Some things that kept me from giving 5 stars is that the rooms are very cold. Valerie offered to turn on heat blanket but I hardly felt it. I also upgraded to aromatherapy but didn’t really smell anything. I mentioned and she applied more essential oil (I chose eucalyptus). There’s some up selling from the front desk, but I suppose that’s how they’re trained. Also when I booked, the girl mentioned a price which was higher than what was posted online. I mentioned the lower price and she changed it. So make sure you know what you’re paying.

Walked in to buy a spa package. Woman working looked at me like I was insane and told me they were closed. Probably not going to come back.

I have never left anyone this awful of an review but what I encountered at Hand & Stone is nothing short of your worst nightmare. This place is so heartless and inconsiderate, I would NEVER ever recommend it to anyone.
It took me forever to book an appointment. I decided to go with couples massage, told my significant other to mark their calendar and told Hand and Stone rep that I will be paying a day in advance so I could keep it a surprise for the other person. I have a gift card with $ 60 balance and the «Representative» from this amazing place told me that I could use that toward couples package which was on a gift card too. I had a hectic week traveling at work, I told the person I will be there Friday lunch time, skipped my lunch and what happened after that was anyone’s worst nightmare. I got greeted by this girl who 1. didn’t know if paying up front even an option and 2. gave me totally wrong information compared to the person I spoke to! Apparently there was no such thing as a special spa package like I was told, they couldn’t process the gift card like I was told and very conveniently escalated it to the manager who did her bare minimum to heed to my needs. I explained the manager what all happened, showed her my emails, told her all what happened and she did NOTHING. They continued to attend other customers and the lady who initially greeted me answered a phone call and I quote «oh sorry our manager is actually with a customer we are bit of a situation but she should be done soon» and rolled her eyes on me what a B*&#%!!!
The manager came back saying I am sorry we can’t do anything about the situation but here is $ 10 off. For something what I was told should be ~$ 100 out of pocket now was $ 200. It is not even about the money it’s about the principle which clearly these people don’t have. This is my first valentine’s with this person and they ruined it for me, NO one else is accepting appointments. I teared a little on the counter but this lady didn’t nudge a bit. I work in a customer service industry myself and have been dealing with situations all my life but tearing up for someone’s inconsideration was definitely a first here!
I have another appointment booked for my brother and sister in law that I cancelled. THIS PLACE IS ABSOLUTE WORST IN HANDLING SITUATIONS! Relaxation? more like mental torture is their motto.
Perhaps they only care about «members» and not like usual customers like us. I have been to this location before and the experience then wasn’t all that great either. Thank you for ruining my weekend! I WOULD RATHER DIE THAN GO BACK TO THIS AWFUL PLACE AGAIN!!!

This was by far the worst customer service experience of my life and I’m absolutely stunned at the employees behavior. Such a Shame!!!

If you find the right massage professional this can be a great place for some relaxation on the cheap! I like Jason and Lauren.

Most of the staff here is very professional and a pleasure to be around! My favorite massage therapist is Christine, my favorite esthetician’s are Susan and Elizabeth. If you want to be relaxed and enjoy your time here, see smiling faces and people with positive attitude make sure Naomi is the only person besides Rosalia that you deal with when scheduling your wonderful spa experience.

On 11/​16/​2014 I had a 10:00 am appointment at the Port Washington Hand and Stone located at 987 Port Washington Boulevard Port Washington, NY 11 050. I recently moved and upon speaking to someone earlier in the week at the Port Washington store I cancelled my membership at the Poughkeepsie, NY location and planned to open an account at the Port Washington location. Upon arrival at 9:45 am the store was not yet open, no big deal the sign at the door said they opened at 10:00 am. Upon entering the store at 9:55 am I was greeted. I sat and waited while 2 other customers were met by their technicians and brought back for their appointment. All the while I sat I heard the girl behind the counter on her cell phone talking to someone, I remember thinking how unprofessional it was. I overheard the girl saying «Oh, no one text you to tell you?» «OK it’s no big deal.» I continued to sit and wait when the girl behind the counter came up to me and apologized that no one told my technician that she had a 10:00 am appointment and she would be running late. I asked how late. I was told she would not be able to be in until 12:30 pm and that I would have to wait 2.5 hours. WHAT!!!
Now, as I sat there beyond frustrated and disappointed I remembered hearing the girl behind the counter tell someone earlier on the phone «Oh, no one text you to tell you?» «OK it’s no big deal.» I confirmed that she was in fact speaking to my technician that failed to show for my appointment. So is that what I am worth!!! It’s no big deal my appointment is cancelled after I drove to the location on a Sunday morning!!! I was told I would be hearing from the store manager to offer me a free service… Really?! Not only has the Store Manager not called to offer me a free service, the Store Manager has not even called to offer me an apology. It’s now 11÷19÷14 and I have no heard a peep. Actually let me correct that at 10:12 am on 11÷16÷14, about 5 minutes after leaving the store upset I was contacted by the girl behind the counter to offer me a last minute 30 minute massage at 10:30 am if I wanted to turn around and returned to the store. No I did not want to return to the store!!! I’m sorry but a 30 minute massage after «drama» was not what I was planning on.
The customer service at the Port Washington store is horrendous. I am highly disappointed by the service I received, or lack of service I should say!

I love Hand and Stone! I was hesitant at first thinking it was similar to other spa franchises I had been to in the past. Not the case. Hand and stone has a relaxing atmosphere, is absolutely spotless, has a superb front desk and amazing treatments. I loved it so much I joined their club where I get monthly treatments for a discounted rate. The best thing you can do for yourself is to join this club. Treatments are rolled over to the next month if they are not used. This membership is monthly so there is no commitment. I look forward to going every month, it’s a little slice of heaven.

Great place with warm customer service and clean and relaxing environment. I came here three months ago to try out a facial and have joined the membership since. I have done three facials and one massage so far with different person each time, and I have to say everyone was great. Highly recommend this place.

New Spa opened up and it looks great! The place is spotless, serene, smells great, and has *heated* and adjustable-​height massage tables so everything can be customized. Heated! I got a membership, so am trying to be ‘good’ to myself and go every month. The memberships are a good deal if you can get there enough.
I have been twice so far, with different masseurs, and they both have been top notch pros. I like very strong massages, as weaker ones always make me feel like I got nothing done for an hour. I let them know, and they definitely didn’t hold back. One of the times I asked for the whole hour on a problem area… sometimes I get hassled for that request, but here, again, no problem. They seem to be focused on just giving you whatever you want.
Last minute I got an extra scalp rub for some low price add on. That was fun! Little treats. Always awesome.
I give this place a thumbs up for being clean (BIG need there), professional, and for being really great about personal requests. Nice to have a close place for a massage!
