We ate here the other day and it was pretty good. Large portions.

Number one comfort food in the county. Bring an appetite or two. I had the pot roast with green and wax beans and biscuit with real mash potatoes and lots of gravy. It hit the spot and then some. My friend had the meat lovers omelet came with hash browns and a Pancake bigger than a dinner plate. He couldn’t finish it. His dad had the deluxe burger with half a plate of fries. Everyone gave it 5 stars and then we walked the new Port Orchard Etta Turner water front trail to a sage our guilty pleasure. The prices were quite reasonable and the service fast and efficient despite the place being packed. When the cook who is also the owner had a break he would visit with the customers and also supports a lot of charities. The décor is route 66 with license plates and car pictures and models.

Great service, great food, great price. Crushed ice, ice cream, milkshakes top off a really great diner experience.

I had the bacon and tomato eggs benedict. It was delicious. I’m really picky about my hollandaise sauce, but they have the best I’ve ever eaten at any restaurant. Excellent prices and large plates. Great, extremely fast service. Very nice waitress. And nice quiet environment, in the morning. I will be back soon!

Huge Everything! That basically describes the entire menu. The food here is delicious and in massive size. The pancake itself is bigger than the dish that they serve it on and trust me, you only need one pancake. Very casual atmosphere. Lots of parking in the area. A great big breakfast or large brunch. Love the various mugs that they serve their warm drinks in as it is environmentally friendly. A great bang for your buck!

What can I say about this place? We’ve eaten here twice. We would come here more often but we are from out of town. The food is really good, the portions are great and the selection is fun. We particularly like the fried pickles. When we are back in the area, we will definitely return.

I’m updating my review to upgrade them to five stars! I’ve now enjoyed their fried Oreos. «Enjoyed» doesn’t describe the absolutely sinful deliciousness of this treat! My only small critique would be if they go just a bit over golden-brown in the freyer it does affect the flavor and texture a lot. But OMG, seriously, I never thought I world enjoy a deep fried cookie. They have my loyalty with that alone! And, what can I say? If you read my previous review you know I adore Joe, the wonder-waitress! She’s as great as always.

Update! I tried it again(a few years later) for breakfast this time. I got a half sammie(waffle/egg/bacon sandwich). It was good and we didn’t wait too long; it was even better once I smeared blackberry jam inside it. :) The waitress was very nice, if a bit forced… but it was busy, so I give her credit for that. We were just shooting the breeze after eating, and we felt zero pressure to give up our booth. It was NOT loud, and we ate inside this time.

Large proportions for the price, you won’t leave hungry! The food is good and they give you large proportions for the price. I enjoy eating here and will recommend to friends and family.

Atmosphere: loud and wide open. No feeling of privacy at all, even in a booth. That may be because they have some booths right in the middle of the restaurant, open on both sides — just sitting in the middle of the room. Also, the kitchen is not really separated from the dining area and maybe it’s just me, but that’s distracting. Décor is antique-y — car stuff, signs, licence plates, some auto photography/art. Fleece black/white checkered curtains. Not really able to seat more than like 6 people together; maybe 8. Service: varies. A few are attentive and fast and intuitive, and actually smile. The rest are also efficient, but a tad cranky and not particularly pleasant(though not rude). It’s just not enjoyable when you’re left wondering what the waitress’s problem is from the very start. Food: A LOT. It’s greasy-spoon type food. Just as you would expect. And huge portions. We are fans of the breakfasts and the deep fried pickles. We haven’t had anything that wasn’t good.

This place is just a stereotypical American diner. The setup is pretty awkward, like they don’t know what to do for decorations since they merged with the other half of the restaurant. I’ve eaten here four times, and originally liked it. But I realize now that every time I went, I was just hangry. The food is just as stereotypically American as the ambiance; plain, big portions, low nutritional value. Portions are maybe two or three times the size that they should be. Every time I have eaten here, I leave feeling bloated and greasy. The food quality suggests that they don’t really take into mind the customer’s health. My case in point is the salad, which is the only reason I’m writing this. I ordered a buffalo chicken salad, in the hopes that I would be getting something lighter and more wholesome than a(substandard) Reuben sandwich. WRONG! It’s a good thing that I had the insight to request my dressing on the side, because they quite literally serve you almost ½ of a cup of dressing. The chicken was just plain fried chicken, and was therefore more bread than chicken. This was not specified on the menu. Buffalo sauce was only on the rim of the plate in what was supposed to be presentation, and I had to scrape it inside. I had to work for my meal a little more than I expected, as I had to peel all the breading off– due to my wheat allergy. If you are going to have a salad on your menu, you should probably specify that the customer would be better off asking for a chicken fried steak with no sauce. I will not be going back here.

If this place was open on Sunday, I’d give them 5 stars. This place is packed on Saturday morning but so are the three other decent breakfast places in PO. Hey, That One Place is worth the wait. Grab a chair and wait 15 minutes, max. You’ll be glad you stayed. Breakfast. Let’s start there. This is our favorite breakfast joint, not just because the portions are huge but also the service is great and the coffee flows freely! They offer a veggie scramble instead of hash browns for the health conscious. It’s full of flavor and lots of it. The eggs Benedict is our favorite. If a restaurant can make it well, we come back. This place offers in plus great sides. Not in the mood for breakfast? The fries are better than McD’s. I know that’s a big claim! You gotta try them though. Get a basket added to any dish. Milk shakes? Are you kidding, they make real ice cream milk shakes old fashion style. The burgers are ginormous! Salads are fresh and large. Pastrami sandwich, BLT, and Big Nasty are all excellent choices.

I just arrived for the first time. First off the lighting is not welcoming, its too bright, I feel as if im just waking up from surgery. It would be awesome if they had bar drob lights over each of the booth tables. The server was very polite! When I got my soda the ice was awesome! It’s the small crused ice :) my favorite! My boyfriend got the fried pickles and hellfire hot hot wings, he said they were good. He also said it was the best place to eat in port orchard as we have tried about everything. I on the other hand got the deluxe burger! Great flavor and very hot! All of our food was served scolding hot! :) the only thing this place is missing is beer :(

The best thing about this diner is the kids’ meals. They are bigger than the adult meals. We came here for the second time expecting great food and service. The staff messed up our order, and the food was way below par. The burgers were plain, no seasoning, and drenched in oil. The Philly cheese steak was tiny, and dried out. What a waste of money. The servers ignored us, and didn’t bring me my shake until we were getting ready to leave(although it was the first thing we ordered when we sat down). I’d stick to Shari’s, you won’t be ignored there.

After living here for months I’ve been running out of places to try. Wish I came earlier. Walking in it has that cool old school diner feel and décor, which is awesome. I ordered the smothered steak which has onions, mushrooms, and tomatoes(I got mine minus the tomatoes) and comes with eggs, hash browns, and choice of toast, French toast, or pancake. Girlfriend got the«Chosen Few»(mushroom Swiss) burger. Wait time was a tad bit long but everything was good. French toast was delicious, and the hash browns and eggs were cooked perfectly. Steak seemed a little under seasoned and I would’ve liked to have had an option other than sirloin but still was very good. Girlfriends burger was really good too. I think the Onion rings were of the store bought variety but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Overall I would say they don’t do anything mind blowing here but everything is very good. Will be back soon to see if they’re consistent.

Just moved to PO and looking for a local diner to call home. I’m hard to please and this place made my belly happy with Evelina’s Veggie Egg Benedict. I will stay clear of the home fries in the future as they are deep fried and lacking in freshness. The hash browns, while most likely frozen, provide better texture and flavor. Come here for a classic diner experience with free refills on coffee.

«Where should we go for breakfast?» «How about That One Place?» «Hell yeah!» I’m always on the lookout for a great breakfast place, and in Port Orchard area ‘That One Place’ is it. Excellent food, generous portions, reasonable prices, and friendly service… it’s a winning combination. I’ve been in several times now and tried a few different meals here, but I keep coming back to their AMAZING Stuffed Omelette: chicken fried steak, peppers, onions, cheese, and hash browns all wrapped up in scrambled eggs and topped with delicious sausage gravy($ 9.99). YUM! They even offer a pancake, French toast, or grits as side options in addition to the traditional toasted bread. Good coffee and plenty of refills, too. That One Place is all good :-)
