Terrible food and terrible service. Will not be going back. Save yourself the disappointment and eat somewhere else.

On my second visit here it should have been obvious to me that something was up since I was only the second patron at noon on a Saturday. I should have taken heed of the other reviews on the many review sites. And I should have left upon the dark-haired female with oversized eyeglasses respond, «squid» when I asked what would be in the squid salad since there was no indication on the menu itself. Yet still I ordered. Remembering my last visit was a bland and syrupy Moo Goo Gai Pan, I ordered Beef Szechuan which the menu indicated used«premium» beef. The meal was preceded by a small bowl of fried rice which was good compared to the typical fast-food mess call fried rice, and an eggroll. The main dish arrived and was a good portion. However, the meat was gummy and squishy. I wondered what their sub-premium beef must be like. The dish was also cold in several bites. Yes, I still wanted to give the meal a chance. So, when the waitress finally checked in on me, I told her about the meat and suggested they taste it themselves. She stared blankly. After an excruciatingly long pause she said, «so you want to send it back?» Soon the condescending large specs lady came over. And I reiterated what she was just told by the waitress. She curled her lip and said, «then just the small fried rice?» After waiting another five minutes for my bill, I decided to go up to the waitress who printed out my bill, received her tip, and then turned her back on me without a thank you or goodbye. I will go the other half-dozen Asian cuisine restaurants nearby rather than be condescended to and served gummy meat.

I’ve tried this place twice and was terribly disappointed both times. The first time I had Wasabi Bowl I had it delivered– the portions were small and there was a hair right in the middle of my salad! Six months later I thought I’d give it another chance– this time I dined-in for lunch. I was shocked when I walked in– very trashy interior, cluttered and dirty. I stuck around because I was starving, but I wish I hadn’t. There was only 1 other person in there at noon on a Saturday, which should have tipped me off that this place wasn’t great. I started with the kani salad and should have stopped there– it was dry and all panko crumbs. There may have been one piece of kani in the whole salad. After that, it took my server a good 10 min to come back and get my order. That may have been tolerable if they were busy but they definitely were not. I had a rainbow roll and some sashimi. I am a frequent sushi eater and have been to a ton of different sushi restaurants. I have never seen such meager portions and such a sloppy presentation. I was given my check right when I finished but had to wait another 15 minutes(I timed it) for my waitress to pick up my card– I nearly walked out without paying I was so mad! You’d think they could pay attention when there are only two diners in the restaurant! I paid $ 20 and left hungry.

WASABI… more like WHATHAPPENED! I’ve been coming to Wasabi Bowl for quite a bit and even missed it when I moved away. After 3 months away and coming back was a terrible idea. I must say that there must have been a change in ownership since the food and service was all over the place. The food that I remembered to be so great and made with flavor is no longer here. The Thai tea was bland and had no sweetness, the Kani salad nothing but panko bread crumbs. Being a Pesqueterian I made sure our order was as such like it always is… nope. pork and chicken made its way onto to the table! The service was so bad I felt like getting up and taking tables myself. Our server looked at us like we were crazy when we requested no meat and was too busy laughing around instead of training the other person that was there, way to set someone up for success. Honestly the whole experience became a weird situation!

Deserves NO stars. DISGUSTING!!! Headed to the movies. Thought we give it a try. Seriously??? Who the F*%~ grounds of the tuna IF indeed it is tuna. O M G. I’ve never in my life experiences such a disturbing serving of food. My bad!!! Should have none better. Photos on the menu don’t even represent what comes out of the kitchen or is it a processing plant of unknown protein. Ok. My husband reminded me to be nice. The beer was cold

The Wasabi Bowl is one of my favorite places to give myself a treat. Their spring rolls are hot, crunchy, and fresh. I can’t resist the seaweed salad & salmon suchi. The atmosphere & menu seem authentic. I like the choice to have brown rice. The jasmine tea is a treat. The fruit flavored moche ice cream for desert is like nothing I have ever tasted. Everytime I go there, I am determined to try something new from their large menu but I can’t resist my old favorite. The food here tastes fresh. I enjoy the oriental music and beautiful vistas on the videos. The service is good. Most importantly, I feel physicslly good when I eat there and not overstuffed. I don’t go as often as I like because I tend to spend more than I should. It’s just too yummy.

My wife and I have been going to Wasabi bowl basically since they opened the doors, we normally went at least 2 — 3 days a week because it was so great, well that was when Stan’s dad was in the kitchen cooking. We were addicted to the salt & pepper calamari –I love Japanese food & sushi my wife prefers Chinese food so this was a good place to keep us both happy. As for the sushi it was always ok nothing great about 1 step above Publix sushi, but hey you cant be perfect at everything right. Well as I said this was the best Asian food in Port Orange – until Stan’s father decided to retire – we continued to go for a year to a year & ½ after the father retired and it just seemed to go farther downhill every time we went. We stopped going for about 1 year then went back once –and it had not regained the quality and great taste we had become accustomed to here so we have ceased going. We both wanted to believe that things would improve and truly hoped they would because this place is so close to home and the prices were always very fair – at least the prices were fair when the food was good – but when I could get better Chinese from a carryout place not so much. I honestly hope that this place can recover and get back to what it used to be. But now another place opened right across the street The Red Bowl, and the food there is wonderful and their sushi is far better then Wasabi Bowl sushi ever was-(still not the best sushi but alot better). Stan if you read this we truly wish you the best – please for gods sake get your father back in the kitchen then you very well may become the best asian food in the area again, and please get a decent sushi chef and let him order the product from a vendor with quality product not the low quality seafood you are getting now. I know it cost more for a good product but you get what you pay for.

I’m a regular here. Great Asian food for good prices. Always good service too. My only complaint is that I hear the same damn songs every time I go.

Restaurant was surprisingly empty for a Sat night, but service was excellent and quick. We both had Chinese entrees, which were reasonably good. Having eaten in many Asian and Chinese restaurants, I would rate this one as middle range — wouldn’t rush back, but wouldn’t avoid.

Horrible sushi, gave it more than one try and somehow worse the second time I tried it. Not fresh at all and overpriced!

My son and I were hungry and he wanted some Sushi. We pulled into this plaza and ordered a couple rolls and he also got some UDON noodles. We took it home and it was very good. The sushi was fresh and tasted great. My son slurped down his UDON and I didn’t even get a taste. I’d certainly go back and try them again…

This is one very good reason to get off I95 at the Port Orange exit! Wasabi Bowl is the best Asian cuisine in the area. I’m very surprised at a couple of reviews here. I’ve never been disappointed. It’s NOT Chinese, so if you are comparing to the thick sauced, MSG-filled food of your local take-out place, it won’t compare. The most spectacular dish I’ve had here is the Hot and Sour Soup surprisingly. I’ve honestly never had better! It’s perfectly seasoned and smooth. It’s always consistently fresh. This soup is unlike the rubbery/slimy texture of most places, it’s thinner and lighter in color and flavor. I crave this! I’ve not eaten sushi here, so I can’t comment. The most impressive aspect of their food overall is they don’t over-flavor. If you want a dish REALLY spicy, simply ask. THEYAREOPENONMONDAYSNOW! I just went tonight. 5YUMS

My friend and I were pleasantly surprised, for what seemed like a fast food place, turned out to be pretty decent. On our drive to Saint Augustine a few months back, we were hungry and wanting something other than your usual highway exit restaurants(Wendy’s, Burger King… you get the idea). Thanks to my trusty Unilocal app(yes, I had to shamelessly plug Unilocal in there), I was able to find a place within the exit we had just taken to fill up the tank, and since we had not had Chinese for a while, I thought this would be a good choice. My friend and I had a bit of a challenge in finding the place as the numbering in the strip mall was odd, and this place was tucked away. We entered, noticed that the employees were Asian, and took that to be a good sign as to authenticity. The menu was pretty straightforward, and your standard Asian fare. We decided to get a lunch combo, which cost less than $ 10. There was a good variety of vegetables in my meal, and the chicken was tender, the sauce was flavorful. The fried rice was okay, could have been better, and had more vegetables, like onions at least. The presentation was quite nice though. Service was attentive and friendly, and sitting next to the kitchen, we were often checked on, and our drinks refilled promptly. It definitely met our expectations, and kept us full for at least a good 5 hours. For that price, what more could you ask for?

I have been hesitant to try this Resturant because we received not great service once before. However, we gave them a second try today. The service was great! They have wonderful lunch specials. We had a bento box with salmon and I had the two roll combo… They easily made two vegan rolls for me. They also have wonderful vegetable soup! Each meal was $ 7.95 each and included soup & salad! Well worth it and very quick!

The name of the restaurant really caught my eye so I decided to give it a shot for lunch. Unfortunately the food was not impressive. Sushi rolls were not rolled tightly and the rice was just falling apart. –Spicy crawfish roll was beyond bland. –Miso soup on the other hand was overly salty –They skimped out on the house salad. No tomatoes, onions, or cabbage. –Service was great –Easy to find location

The service was great. The food? not so much. Between the two of us we ordered the vegetable tempura as an appetizer, shrimp tempura udon, and the general tsao chicken. The tempura looked as if it was cooked in oil that was old. something about it didn’t taste fresh. I know how hard it is to find udon around Daytona Beach so I was excited to see it on their menu. Now, if only I could rewind time, because it was so bland and tasted like vegetables and noodles in hot water. But this seems to be an issue with their soup as their wonton soup that came with the lunch combination had the same issue. The only dish that was most edible was the general tsao chicken. What a disappointnent ththis place was to me. If I ever go back, it’ll only be for their Thai tea.
