History

Established in 1915.

Located on the banks of the Neversink River, at the foot of the magnificent Shawangunk Mountain, in Deerpark, NY, The Lynx at River Bend Golf Club offers 18 scenic holes of golf built around water hazards of oxbow ponds. Facilities include The Lynx Pro Shop, The Grill at River Bend and The Lynx Banquet Hall. William Tuscano purchased this land in 1920 and by 1915 a nine-​hole course and clubhouse was consructed. The private golf course was incorporated at Port Jervis Country Club in 1920 and in 1921 the legendary A.W. Tillinghast, who is known as the father of golf course architecture, redesigned the nine holes. In the early 1960’s club member Fred Conrad engineered the construction of the next nine holes with the help of Harry Spears as construction foreman. In 2011, Drew and Elaine Koch bought the property. After renovating the property and the clubhouse, the new public course The Lynx at River Bend opened April 1, 2011. The Grill offers seating for approximately 46 people.
