I’ve visited Toast several times and have yet to be disappointed. I tried other brunch spots in the area like Maureen’s Kitchen and Setauket Village Diner and they were nowhere near as good as Toast. Excellent food, generous portions, and an array of flavorful coffees.

THE BEST breakfast I have ever had – the omelettes are so fresh and generous, the pancakes and French toast left my teenagers speechless… And even if you never eat bread, you HAVE to try their whole grain bread – it’s worth every carb!!! Also, they have excellent breakfast cocktails!!!

Love this place. If you want a tasty it pricey breakfast come here. Their coffee, their pancakes, their omelettes are amazing!!! Yummmmmm

The eponymous toast was flavorsome without becoming soggy or too sweet (unlike our waitress — who was the sweetest and attentive). The sausage was nicely crisp around the edges. The portions were not over the top, at a perfect place where you can finish it without feeling too full.
My latte was enticing — a delectably bold Vermont Maple Crunch to whisk away a delightful afternoon at Toast Coffeehouse.

Toast is my favorite brunch place in the area!
The other day I ordered french toast loaded with Nutella, strawberries, whipped cream, and bacon! It was amazing! I would say that french toast and bacon are Toast’s specialties, as their kids french toast is also very good. Also, I would order their homemade waffles!
I have visited Toast many times before this review, and of course I plan to go many times in my future!

I went here for breakfast on a Sunday morning with an old friend. I have celiac so I asked the waitress the standard celiac questions when ordering my omelette-​how do you cook the potatoes– shared frier– can you make the toast on a clean grill instead of in the shared toaster, etc. She assured me they knew all about cross contamination and would handle my food in a safe manner and they have people eat there all the time with celiac. Ok. Well then my food came out and after I told her I couldn’t eat the potatoes –they were on my plate. Normally at this point I don’t make a big deal about it and just not eat my food but my friend was not having it so she asked her to take my food back and make a new omelette that wasn’t contaminated by the potatoes and new toast. The waitress apologized and took it back and reassured us she would tell the cook I have celiac and re make everything and there must have been a mix up. Ok. So I got my food back within 10 mins but the whole thing was annoying, especially since they have gluten free food on their menu– marked gluten free, you would think they would know how to properly handle food and not contaminate it. Luckily I didn’t get sick but my anxiety was high thinking about how I might get sick.
The restaurant itself was cute and busy for 9am on a Sunday and they don’t take reservations, so be prepared to wait if it’s not early, we only waited about 5 minutes for a table.
I would probably not go here if you have any kind of gluten issues but if you don’t, it’s a cute place to have breakfast.

My daughter brought me here for breakfast yesterday and it was really nice. I had the French toast with fruit and I had them hold off on the powdered sugar and whipped cream and it was really good. Aviance there was really cool and there was quite a few people in there. We only had to wait like 5 minutes for a table. I thought the coffee cups was cool because it looked like something I made in 4^th grade Ceramics class. The service is pretty quick and we didn’t have to wait long for our food.

For as much as I love coming to Toast, I don’t come here nearly enough. Probably because parking can be difficult in the area but it’s worth the couple of times you have to drive around.
You walk in and it just feels home-​y. There is local art on the walls, they carry Port Jeff beers… everything just seems straight up local and it’s great. My type of home-​y by the way, is a little dark and not an ordinary restaurant [this is a compliment]. The wait staff seems like your alternative, artistic type of person with tattoos and just ‘good people vibes’.
Most recently, I shared the cheese trio fondue which came with broccoli, roasted potatoes, toast, pretzels, carrots and we added chicken. Phenomenal. I also shared the toast’adas which were delicious, slightly messy but the ok I’m eating toastadas so what do you expect kind of messy. The only thing I have to say is that it comes with two so it’s not the best to share unless you just want a little somethin somethin. [Disclaimer — it does say small plates so jokes on me] The fondue for two is $ 25 and chicken is extra, it’s not a bad price when you see all the food it comes with. I feel like we didn’t eat more than half of it but we were about to burst some buttons open if we kept going.
I’ve been here for breakfast before and they can do no wrong with their French toast. Ugh. Drooling just thinking about it.
For the toast’adas, fondue, a beer and a mixed drink — the total only came out to $ 56. Not so bad!

This place knows how breakfast food should be! We go all the time! The lattes are to die for! Anything you order on their menu is fantastic! The staff is always great and happy! Great place!

Love this place! Perfect little place if you’re looking to brunch with a small or large group! Took my mom here for Mother’s Day and it was perfect! We had a party of 9 and they accommodated us for all to fit. The food was great, service was great! Definitely recommend this place. The best is that they take your phone number down and text you when your table is ready. So you don’t need to stand and wait, you can walk around port Jeff if you wanted to.

Don’t even think about it– just come here! I can’t speak highly enough about this place. For any meal-​breakfast, lunch and dinner I have had such a pleasant experience.
The staff are wonderful, outgoing and don’t interrupt every 5 seconds and attend to what you ask.
The restaurant has a real artsy, calming feel to it. They hang up local artist work which gets changed every few months which is always intriguing.
Depending on the time and day you may have to wait a while (sometimes up to an hour) but it is worth the wait.
This is by far my favorite breakfast place! I always order the raspberry cheesecake pancakes or the French toast with fresh blueberries.

I’ve been here twice, it’s been a good experience both times. Weekend brunch hours are a bit busy, but the wait isn’t too bad (approx 30mins). I forgot exactly what I ordered, but their omelettes are delicious.
Port Jefferson is really nice when the weather is warm. It’s nice to take a stroll around after you had brunch.

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, and I wish there were more places to go out to eat for breakfast other than Diners on Long Island. On weekends there is a tremendous wait. sometimes an hour. The food has always been great, and the service has been attentive. But I don’t know if the food is worth the wait.
Omelettes are great. French Toast never disappoints. Eggs are always made how I like them. I just don’t like waiting an hour for a seat, and waiting another 15 minutes for my food.

This is a great cozy-​hipster little boutique brunch spot. We waited almost upwards of 45 mins for a group of five of us to be seated on a Saturday afternoon, but that was to be expected. The server we had was really friendly, helpful, efficient and attentive to our group as we dined. They have a wide array of foods from both savory and sweet to satisfy any craving be it breakfast foods or a more hearty lunch. They allow you to swap out or combine items to make your own customized French toast/​pancakes and banana-​chocolate chip-​walnut combo was delicious as was the cheesecake-​cookie dough combo. Home fries are seasoned well. Portions are large and will you satisfied!

Since Unilocal hasn’t gotten the hint about the half star ratings I’m just going to give this place 5 stars. We came here around 1 on a Sunday afternoon for brunch and we were not disappointed! We got there and put our names down on the wait list. 40 minutes for 4 people. It was jam packed when we got in there so we expected the long wait. But we only wound up waiting 10 – 15 minutes before we were seated.
The inside is really cute and cozy and decorated with paintings from local artist that I believe you can purchase which is really nice for a local business. It was loud inside but what do you expect from every table being filled? The smell of pancakes and waffles made my mouth water and soon became even more hungry than I was before. Good thing our waitress came over quickly to take out orders. We ordered a round of mimosas which they have a nice variety of. I ordered the blueberry lemon mimosa which was sweet and refreshing. I ordered the huevos Midas omelette which was delicious. I was a little disappointed though because it said it was going to be spicy and have chorizo sausage but it was just regular sausage and not spicy. But it had a lot of cheese on it so it was nice and gooey and I think that made up for it.
We initially found this place because we were interested in having some mimosas with our brunch which, unfortunately, is a rare thing to find in my neck of the woods. This is a nice little spot in Port Jeff to stumble in when you’re hungover or if you want to have some wine with your fondue in the evening (which I must try when I return). The service is quick and friendly and the food is delicious. I will definitely be back!

Came here for Brunch on a Tuesday with my girlfriend and some friends. We called ahead and were told 40 minute wait so we decided to go ahead and get there before our friends did to put our names down. Again, we were told 40 minutes so we waited awkwardly near the cash register because they have no place to wait for your table. We though about going somewhere nearby and grabbing a drink while we waited but in about 10 minutes we were told our table was ready. No breakfast/​brunch place ever has a realistic 40 minute wait so next time you hear something crazy like that don’t be scared away.
The place itself makes this 4 start food/​service to a 5 star. It’s homey yet hip in a way. They have local art on the walls and every table was packed with the smell of sugary pancakes, fresh coffee and toasting bread filling the air. I was in breakfast heaven. Some of our friend’s have told us about their famous mimosa choices so we all knew what the first order of business was. I had the pomegranate mimosa and wow was it perfection. They have so many choices for different flavors plus a bloody Mary with sake option. Our service was quick, especially for how busy the place was around 1 o’clock on a Sunday.
I had the «Dig Me» omelette; egg whites, turkey, spinach and cheese with rye toast and opted for the fruit substitution ($ 1.50) instead of the home fries. The omelette was a good size, especially for egg whites only. As soon as our food came out, our waitress brought hot sauce and ketchup to the table; not her first rodeo so I was impressed I didn’t have to ask like usual. My girlfriend had the Huevos Migas omelette which i had a few bites. Was supposed to be chorizo sausage but was just regular. However, I didn’t personally mind because it had extra cheese but wasn’t spicy like it said in the menu. Our friends had pancakes and the cannoli french toast which had everyone’s eye at the table.
Toast is a great option in Port Jeff for breakfast and lunch specials with alcohol running freely. Find a parking spot, put your name on the list and while you wait look at all the local art on the walls. The food was great, the prices are reasonable and the service/​ambiance is top notch. I would easily come back.

This is one of my go to breakfast and brunch places in the area. They have really unique breakfast options like jumbo lump crab omelets (yum!). I have never had a disappointing meal here and any of the drinks on their menu are just as good!
Unfortunately the only deduction is due to the fact that regardless of day of the week or time of day, you are bound to wait for at least a little bit. Though, their new location in Patchogue is almost twice the size so that might be your better bet if you’re anywhere near that area. Other than that, this is a great cozy spot to satisfy any breakfast craving!
NOTE: Always splurge on the multigrain toast!

If I took confession, I would say I have danced with the devil they call Toast, I’d say my Hail Mary (s) and move right along.
Toast? Take it or leave it, between the two… I’d leave it;
I’ve been there twice and nothing blew me away, the menu has a bunch of things to coax the average diner into excitement but not me. I could decide, not because everything was so great looking, but a seemingly underwhelming notion that everything on the menu could have one extra twist to actually be substantial and alluring.
My first visit was for lunch or dinner and we got a few things for the table to share… Everything was fine, nothing was awful and nothing from what I can remember rocked any of our sock from removing themselves an iota from our pleased or unpleased feet. Some things were quite good Actually but we all really wanted fondue but they said it was too early and they didn’t have cheese…
Hey, I’ll wait 15 minutes and you can go across the street and get me some damn (I only thought it, I didn’t actually say it)
We ordered sangria, and once brought over all took a sip, almost comically at the same time and realized we all made a not so funny mistake. What they gave us was what seemed to be coffee with fruit pieces in it. –what the actual fuck–
The waitress came back and almost unsurprisingly said «oh I’m so sorry I grabbed the wrong one out of the fridge»
This told me a few things right there, 1. She’s not too bright, 2. They have a pre-​made concoction of stale sangria, 3. this fruited coffee is a thing? Ew
I went back recently because people unjustifiably rave about their breakfast… I guess kids from SBU and the general collection of hipster follower drones who are told to like something have an uncanny way of getting the word out, but let me warn you, it’s all a bit overrated.
Hipsters run the show here with their lackadaisical, I don’t give a fuck attitudes, to the point some not so obscure dashboard confessional Jane plays 3 times while you’re there. This all comes through in the food, they put some semi interesting rice Krispy Nutella French toast on the menu, since Nutella is a key word for any loser hipster these days that don’t realize the stuffs been around for decades and other brands/​countries do it better, healthier, and in more variety.
Anyway, there was barely any krisp to that but it was decent.
The next decent thing was a scramble thing on a couple of tortillas with sour cream and sausage. It was good but missing something.
It’s a shame, because the potatoes tasted great and were almost perfect had they been a slight touch crispier, and the flavors were pretty good in the Benedict Arnold off the menu, it had promise but wasn’t punchy enough for me so I got it with chorizo; the chorizo came cold but was your normal tasty variety chorizo, but the English muffin under it all wasn’t toasted, wasn’t warm, wasn’t anything… At least do more than take it out of the bag and slice it in half… and the eggs?! THE EGGS, that’s where I get angry. If you don’t know how to poach an egg, then don’t try. If you overlook and over-​cook my heavenly egg yolks depriving me of that ooey gooey, gift from the Angels, you are officially the spawn of Satan in my eyes and you certainly won’t get a great Unilocal review Mr. Devil.
Case and point, Toast is the devil.
I hope if/​when the patchogue location opens, there could be some redemption.

Waiting time was about half an hour around lunch time. The place was pretty pact when I entered. Once I got my table, I quickly did not like the seating lay out. I’m not a fan of seating that is super close to other groups. My best friend and I were seated super close to this couple and boy was that awkward. Although not an intimate place, the food is pretty darn delicious. My chocolate chip pancakes were the highlight of my day, along with my eggs and turkey bacon. My friend got the nutella French toast, and I need to come back just to try that. My friend bragged about it, and the presentation looked incredible. Overall, I did have a good time here, and I would definitely recommend it for brunch.

The food is decent, nothing really special about it. I’ve been noticing that about the bruncheries in this area. Not much crab in the downport. Also, they forgot my friend’s english muffin in his order. Wait’s also kind of long on the weekends so be prepared for that.

Toast finally did it! They finally incorporated a dinner menu! Unfortunately… it stinks quite frankly.
Now I’ve reviewed toast before and that was for just the breakfast which they still knock out if the park. But this review will be for just dinner.
My group went there last night after seeing the news that they now serve dinner. We were super excited so we went and even though it was a Saturday night the joint was not that busy. The menu has 7 dinner options and all but 1 are $ 20 and over. Yikes!
To start I got a Gouda and crab mac and cheese which was right up my ally. A little too much bacon but still really great. My sister and I ordered the rigatoni plate which said on the menu that it was a pesto cream. When we got our dish it was not pesto at all! It was some bland and bitter tasting white sauce. We both did not like it. My other friend ordered the chicken breast and said it was good, he in fact ate the plate clean! My other friend is a vegetarian and the only plate for her on the list was the rigatoni but she didn’t feel like having pasta so she got the spinach artichoke dip.
At dessert we had pumpkin crème brûlée and chocolate fondue. The pumpkin was AMAZING! The fondue is always good and they have 3 choices of chocolate to dip!
The night was overall good but I personally will not be coming back here for dinner. It was little things that turned me away. Our pasta dishes just not being good was a big one and I just can’t justify the prices. There was no salt or pepper on the table which was weird. Our food (while I understand it’s made to order) took a very very long time. Our server was super cool but disappeared a few times.
