Have visited a few times now, each time taking a seat at the bar. Bartenders are attentive, and friendly. Good selection beer on tap. Impressive Buffalo Wing sauce — it’s unique, with an almost herbal touch to it. Just the right heat and a depth of flavor you don’t usually find a Buffalo Wing. Bartenders pour good mixed drinks as well, and prices are quite reasonable.

Came here because of reviews. Big mistake. We asked to be seated in back because we didn’t want to be near the bar. We were told by the waitress, who was also the hostess, that those tables are for bigger groups and it was going to get crowded. It was about 4:15. How crowded could it possibly get? When we were ready to leave, those tables were all still empty, and it wasn’t crowded. Despite not fulfilling our request, waitress was very nice, friendly. Brought drinks right away. Food took awhile and it wasn’t crowded, but I don’t think that was her fault. Buffalo wings were nasty. They were wings with horrible tasting sauce on them. Fried chicken basket was not good. Chicken was covered in thick batter and did not taste good. Cole slaw had a funny taste. Burger was good, but nothing special. Had better at diners. Fries were really good. Waitress took wings off bill because they just were not edible. Service would’ve been better if they had another person working. It was extremely loud. A group of 4 men were talking really loud throughout the whole meal. We were stuck right next to the bar. This was why we asked to be seated away from the bar. They were also betting on horses and screaming. Our conversations were interrupted because of the noise. I can’t imagine what that place is like on a Saturday night, and I don’t care to find out. We will never eat there again. I should’ve gone with my gut and said let’s go when we were refused on the table.

Good food, good drinks, good(looking) waitstaff. Good place for everyone– on a Friday night there were families with kids, older couples, date-night looking couples and girls out for a girls night(that was us). Decent prices. The only negative was it was a little snug(tables were very close together). I’ll go back

Food is okay at best. Very low quality. Zero customer service. I felt more welcome at the motor vehicles.

Grumpy Jacks is my go to when I want a good meal at a reasonable price. I have been here many times and have never been disappointed. Very good wings, Great burgers, nice steaks, I love the steak on garlic bread topped with Mozzarella. The bar is on the divey side but if your there for a few beers and to watch a game this is for you. The dining room side is neat, clean, with a pleasant atmosphere. The service has always been affable and courteous and the prices very reasonable. I have enjoyed myself every time I have visited.

Grumpy Jack’s. Grumpy Jacks made me a bit grumpy myself when I was crammed into my table and provided with slow service. Granted it was busy and they redeamed themselves with great grub. Excellent wing sauce. slow service but fine…

When we walked in some guy at the bar introduced himself to us. At first I thought, that was sweet but he must be drunk… then I realized it WAS grumpy Jack himself! What a cool guy! The place didn’t make us feel out of place– which can happen with an older regular clientele. We sat outside, were served right away and certainly not dissapointed by the bar food. This place was quaint, friendly, and casual. A perfect place to unwind on a Friday or to just get yourself out of the house too. We’ll certainly be back.

This has been my go-to place for a solid burger but my last visit is making me start to question it. We got there for a late afternoon meal and it’s starting to get that«old man’s bar» feel. Maybe someone called in sick so the owner was behind the bar alone. I certainly see how this place got its name! How about just a little personality towards your customers? When I got my standard mushroom burger, it certainly was not the usual… overdone, smaller and not good quality meat as previous meals. Their wings are still one of the best around this area so maybe one more try… hopefully Grumpy Jack wakes up because lots of burger joints starting to pop up!

Good weekday grumpy hour. Specials during games. Food is good. It’s not amazing but a good place to go to if u don’t want to go down port or be on 347. Seems a little townie but the bartenders and owner are nice

I have found my new go-to spot! My boyfriend and I came on a Monday night and were able to find parking right up front, walk in and be greeted & have the option to sit down at the bar area or at a table of our choice! We chose to sit in the dining area and we got to pick whatever table we wanted which I really liked. Our server came right over to us and handed the menus. We came on a great night, pasta night! I almost couldn’t believe what was included! For just 17 bucks you get pasta of your choice(There was like 7 choices!!) soup or salad and a glass of the house wine. #Yaaaaas! I’m such a basic Long Island bitch so I love a good deal on food, pasta and wine haha! My boyfriend ordered Shepard pie and when our food arrived(It came really quick!) we were really taken back by the portions. They were so big! What really counts though is how fantastic the food was. My pasta dish on top of being so large, came with 4 healthy sized pieces of the most bomb garlic bread I’ve ever had! My boyfriend said his Shepard’s pie was very good as well and I also really liked the wine. I noticed that almost every night on week days they offer a special. Monday is pasta night, Tuesday is burger night etc. they have happy hour EVERYDAY! $ 5 apps and half off drinks till 7. You really can’t beat the prices here!

Average bar but with great great food. –Decent selection of beers –not a great selection in terms of craft beers –great lunch specials –beers are pretty fresh –burgers are good –steak sandwich is a must try –good place for a Friday night with friends –local bands play on weekends Cons: –Not enough seating on weekends –Long wait times for food –only do lunch during work hours by calling in the order

What a terrific place this was. Went there real hungry for lunch and I wasn’t disappointed. Had the BESTLI Iced Tea. I even complimented it to the Bar Tender. Ordered the Drunken Chicken lunch and it was dee-lush-shush. A matter of fact, everything on the specials menu seemed scrumptious. Great atmosphere, great staff, generous portions, can’t complain about the price. 5 stars all the way

I ended up here on my birthday will visiting from out of town(I grew up on Long Island but moved to Florida). It was a great birthday lunch! A family member needed to spend a few hours at the doctor in the area. Two of us decided to check out Grumpy Jack’s until she was done. We spent several hours sipping wine and enjoying some great food. They had perogie(SP??), one of my favorites and something you don’t find in to many places. It was excellent! We ordered a few appetizers, wine and two meals. I only remember the perogie but everything was good! There was a juke box(if that is what you still call them) and I played several(ok countless) Billy Joel songs. There were clearly many regulars who were very kind and accommodated the Birthday girls love of Billy. When I felt it was perhaps enough for everyone someone else would head over and select a few more Billy Joel songs. Thanks for great service, great food, great music and great people!!!

3 – 4 stars just for having a casual, easy atmosphere. Just the right place to let off some steam. Prices are average. The pierogies are killer. Large selection of decent beer on draught. Service is overly attentive which is better than indifferent service. This place is never empty and popular with the locals. Somewhat hard to find. Shhh. I won’t tell if you won’t.

Equally good place to sit at the bar and get drinks, or grab a table in the restaurant for some consistently yummy food. I’ve never deviated from choosing typical bar/grill food. Sandwiches and burgers are good, as are salads and wraps. The wait staff are pleasant and ours knew the menu well. The bar area is nice, comfortable and roomy. The bartender was polite and made sure we got refills in a timely fashion. No complaints here. A decent place to grab a bite or meet up with friends for a drink.
