I have been in the hospitality industry my whole life. I am a Port Jefferson resident and I saw the need for a classic New York style deli like the ones I grew up going to. We make eggs all day, serve a great cup of coffee and take the classic deli one step further with the creation of great daily specials from our Chef Andy LaLonde.

Mediocre food that ain’t cheap. Not sure why the reviews are so positive. Maybe it’s because everyone knows each other and doesn’t want to insult the owners. Maybe the positive reviewers are easy to please. I’ll keep move on in search of 4 and 5 star places in Port Jeff.

The wholly unfair review Ann L. left chapped my hide. We know the place is old. We dont go there for the ambiance. We go there for the great food. That kind of snobbery doesnt belong in there anyway. The staff is always super friendly and makes things just how you like it. Hence the «custom» in its name. If some people (ahem) gave it a chance, they would know that you were able to order your food, have a seat and a staff member would bring you your food. Whats the word for that again? oh yeah… café!
This is one of my favorite places to go for a great Sunday brunch. Their french toast is amazing and comes in giant portions. Actually, most anything you order comes in big portions and is really reasonably priced.
They also have an excellent selection of salads, sanwiches and wraps. Oh yeah, its also a deli (thanks for pointing that out Ann).

We went in due to all the 5 star reviews, took one look around, and walked out. It’s a deli — with old booths around the edges. We didn’t order, can’t comment on the food.

A great deli that was much needed in the town of Port Jeff. Love that they deliver with no minimum. Have not ordered something that I did not like yet, but wish they had chocolate chip pancakes!
The fresh mozzerella salad and the cordon bleu sandwich are always great and the staff is always extremely friendly over the phone or in person.

Really delicious food — especially the caprese sandwich with breaded chicken cutlets. Yum. Great customer service — everyone was friendly and attentive. The inside has a cute and old fashioned feel with lots of little booths by the windows.

Went for the first time today. Absolutely classic deli. Great atmosphere, plenty of seating. Chicken caprese sandwich was recommended and it was out of this world. Everyone was so friendly and made you feel at home. Definitely going back.
