Cornercopia Café’s Story

We found the Café as if by destiny… It was a cute sandwich shop for sale on an accessible corner in the vibrant town of Port Jefferson. After many years in a commuter’s rut, Bob dreamt of a place close to home, where he could serve up some of the great recipes developed over time as a Kosher caterer. With our own place, we delight to invite friends and family to enjoy good home cooking, and to make new friends here. The previous incarnation of Cornercopia was for sale around Christmas, 2013. It seemed an answer to our prayer to create something delicious and nutricious too! Taking the concept of unique sandwiches that had gained a following on our corner, we decided to build upon what was established, adding what we contemplated over the years.

History

Established in 2014.

We took over Cornercopia Café in Jan. of 2014, as a unique sandwich shop in Port Jefferson Villiage. In the to be since, we’ve added many modifications, incorporating gluten-​free and vegetarian menu items. To reach a wider audience, we have since moved our location 4miles south to reach a wider audience for a longer business season. We embrace both a traditional dining audience and those who have more particular dietary concerns. As these groups often go out together, we are a prime spot for everyone to be satisfied.

Business Owner

Robert has been a chef for more than forty years, working in some of the finest clubs, restaurants, and catering facilities through out The New York area. Susan has many talents, including a LMSW degree, and many accomplishments in private studies involving personal and spiritual growth. Together we are inspired to create Cornercopia Café a destination that serves healthy fresh food with impeccable quality and taste.
