Specialties

Historic feel, Modern appeal! Situated in the historic General Store of Port Gamble, shoppers, diners, and tourists will find delicious espresso, ice cream & hand dipped shakes, a large candy selection, as well as gifts/home décor/cards and souvenirs. Complementary gift wrap always available with purchase. We also feature a growing selection of Washington wines for sale retail, as well as in our café by the glass. The café is full service and focuses on handcrafted food using local and organic ingredients whenever possible. Breakfast is served from 8−11am Mon-Fri, and from 8am-3pm Sat/Sun. Lunch is served from 11am-3 pm everyday with extended hours in the summer. Our customers love our Reubens, and Corned beef hash, made from Painted Hills Brisket, slow cooked in house daily. We also have a great selection of vegetarian items and gluten-free offerings. Our sweets include our famous cinnamon rolls, rustic bread pudding, and citrus bars… all made in house.

History

Established in 1916.

The current General Store building was built in 1916, but a General store has always been part of Port Gamble since the 1800’s. When the mill closed in 1995, the general store became a tourist destination, no longer needing to serve the workers of the town mill. The current owners of the Port Gamble General Store & Café remodeled and reopened in March of 2010. The General store building also houses «The Sea & Shore Museum», a large privately owned collection of shells and curiosities on the second floor, and the «Port Gamble History Museum» in the basement.
