If there were other reviews, I might give it two stars, but that’s probably needlessly harsh. I’ll admit right away, that my objectivity is very questionable on this, because I adored what Tony’s once was. Until 2010 or so, Tony’s was a sublime little slice of Americana. It was untouched for probably the better part of 100 years, and run by a woman who fined you a quarter for swearing. It had a beautiful wood bar and cheap beer that you could savor while playing vintage bar games. Oh, how I loved that iteration of Tony’s. I can’t say I blame the new owners for changing it; I never had more than four other patrons sipping brew and nostalgia with me in «old» Tony’s. The new place is heartbreaking in its sameness and mediocrity. There are probably 10 or more places like it on the island already. It’s big, flashy, and disappointing. On the upside, our bartender was a real pro, they had beer on tap for an OK price, and it was clean and friendly. On the downside, they killed a piece of history, and the food was not promising at all. I tried some of their apps, and they seemed to go straight from an icy Sysco box into the fryer. Not impressed.
