I tried this restaurant through Groupon and I definitely would go again. My ‘likes’ are the food and the décor. It also is worth noting that it is within walking distance to the Capitol Theatre if you are going to a show. Food was very good and authentic and the décor is colorful. My ‘dislikes’ and the reason for not giving a five star review are the drinks and the location. Drinks were weak and watery and the location; well let’s just say it’s off the main road and inside a refurbished industrial building; not that there is anything wrong with this, but it is not easy to find if you’ve never been and parking is limited. All in all I’m glad I got to try it and I look forward to eating there again.

My first 1 star review. Sad cause I use to talk this place up and it use to be a 4−5star taco spot. Again, sad.

Omg this place is hidden from view but is one of the nicest places I have been. The decoration is on point the service is great and the food, oh my god the food is awesome the portions are huge you really need to be hungry or you might have some leftovers. The waitress which i think is also the owner was so nice and talkative that makes you feel very welcome, place is very clean and while we waited for our food we were offered drinks and she kept being very nice. The food when it arrived was a big ass plate with half a chicken with roasted potatoes salad rice and beans and on the side i had ordered a small chicken soup wich turned out to be a beautiful like metallic bowl and it was huge. They have fresh handmade tortillas wich made the food even more pleasant. This is the best place to get your chicken fix if you ever near the area.

This little gem is easy to miss. My wife and I stopped by for a little quick lunch with lots of tasty food and reasonable price. It was very clean and quick service. Always a great sign of authentic Hispanic food is the quantity of actual people of Hispanic origin, about half or More of the clientele were obviously such the music was Spanish pop and the food reflected a deep respect for the cultural touchstones of the cooking down to the tortillas and the beans. I had the bistek and the wife the half of a roasted chicken both with rice, beans warm tortillas for $ 7 and $ 6 respectively, wow! Came out full and happy«Jarto y contento» gracias gemelos!

Super disappointed. Ordered by 10:45 am and by 2pm an entire office was sitting hungry. Despite repeated calls and responses that«the food is on the way» — it never came. Be warned.

The smoky flavor from the wood burning oven was terrific and unique. The value was fantastic. Very convenient if you are going to Capitol

Food was good but the service simply awful. So one star is for the service. Food deserves at least 4 stars. I went there on a Monday evening and there were only two tables with customers. The waitress repeated my order 4 times and each time she was wrong(btw my order was for 6 tacos, 2 of each times 3 meats). Then my date sat there with his hand raised like he was in school hoping one of the 2 waitresses will notice just to ask for 2 waters. The same scenario took place when trying to get the check. Hand raised… waiving from side to side and nothing. They were too busy on their personal phones. The food was very good but the service leaves much to be desired. I would like to go back but I don’t think I will. Maybe for take out only but not to sit in and eat. Notice to management, please pay attention to your wait staff and teach them about what proper service is at a restaurant. Keep up the good work in the kitchen! Just improve the service.

Let me start by saying the décor is really nice. I gave it two stars for the food. I ordered a margarita and a steak fajita. The margarita was weak and the steak fajita was very disappointing. The steak fajita use served sizzling and looked appetizing. However when biting into the streak it was extremely tough and difficult to chew. The beans where bland and the rice tasteless. Thanks to the guacamole andchips or this meal would have been a total waste. I honestly think the meats were deep fried and not cooked over a wood fire as others had stated in previous reviews. Very dry. The prices are great only if the food was as good.

Just had a chorizo burrito and guacamole with chips. The meal was very inexpensive for the large portion sizes. Guacamole was so fresh and delicious. The burrito was enormous the 3 of us that shared it were all stuffed! Will definitely be getting lunch from here again.

I went here on a lark that I wanted to get some good food. When I got here on a Friday afternoon(after 1:30PM) it was pretty empty save for two tables. There was only one waitress/cashier and pretty mellow. Lots of booth space that could conceivably sit six face-to-face. I noticed that there were a few HD screens but the volume was not really loud as I could not hear the program. it was a visual distraction in case you want to look around. Place is clean and well kept. I got the menu and ordered the Al Carbon chicken dish with salad and yellow rice. They do not have brewed iced tea, only bottled ones like Snapple. They do have a bar and beer selection so have it with your meal. I elected to get just tap water. The meal came out quickly and I was very surprised. The waitress said that there were limes behind the counter if I wanted to have how many to flavor my meal. none was really needed as I got green and red salsa in metal cream holders. The dish presented was stainless steel and seemed pretty neat to eat off of for my meal. I wish I had taken a picture because it was quite ample even for me. When i went to pay for the delicious meal(YUM!) it only cost $ 5 and then tax. I felt bad that I didn’t order more for the price but I highly recommend this place. I haven’t been here for dinner but I think it is well worth one’s while to do so.

This is my second review(a follow-up) for Los Gemellos. I stopped in again for lunch recently, over a year later from my first time here. I still cannot believe that the lunch menu has the same $ 5.00 price for a full meal. Seriously, with a choice of Chicken or Steak(yes Steak!) with two sides, hot fresh torillas and two sauces… how can you go wrong? There are few places that you get such an incredible deal for great home cooked food. Definitely stop here if you are in the Port Chester area.

Ordered delivery from this restaurant, but was not too impressed. Their guacamole was good, as was their spicy salsa verde and plantains. I had a burrito that was very large, but prepared sloppily. The ingredients were all in separate sections of the wrapped burrito and often I was eating only chicken or rice/another ingredient. Also, I asked for mole sauce on the side and the burrito arrived drenched in sauce, most of which even spilled through the entire delivery bag.

This is yet another unexpected surprise in the heart of P.C. The food is a «different» take on Mexican cuisine. It is all cooked in a wood-burning stove. The wood is stacked up in the restaurant. Surprisingly, the restaurant itself is COLD! We had to eat dinner with our winter jackets on and zipped! LOL… The wooden chairs and benches are terribly uncomfortable. Now, onto the food… The food is, in a word, excellent! It is not a typical Mexican-fare menu. The sangría is the absolute BEST I have ever had, anywhere – hands-down! It is $ 9/glass, but well worth it. They make guacamole on the spot and serve it up with a platter of homemade totopos. The guacamole has lots of cilantro, giving it a real kick. ¡Es muy sabroso! I had a platter that came with a chuck steak, three pork spare ribs and a half of a pollo asado, with yellow rice and pinto beans. All of the meats were cooked in the wood-burning stove. They were exceptionally tender, the meat falling from the bones and melting in my mouth. The platter was honestly more food than I can normally finish and was only $ 10! It’s a tremendous deal. They also serve a huge recipiente of HOT flour tortillas, along with some deviled onions which have some real zest to them, and a homemade pico de gallo that has a distinctive flavor. I was supremely impressed with the quality of all of the food and the value. I will most definitely be returning to this one. Next time I want to try the chorizo. My only«complaint» is that the furniture is uncomfortable and the restaurant was too cold. I like to eat dinner without my winter coat on. Still, 5-stars!

A place with a lot of potential but falls short in many ways. The atmosphere is very upbeat and has a nice fun feeling. The menu is based around meats cooked over wood. The food for the most part was very good. Ribs and chicken cooked over the wood fire and served with a a very well prepared mole and a salsa verde. We had fish ceviche as a appetizer which was was very well prepared and tasty. Drink service was pretty bad. I was thinking about the margaritas all day after seeing them on the menu a few days before at lunch when I went. When I got mine it was tequila mixed with some bud Rita’s because they said they did not have the mixers. O limes, orange liquor and simple syrup? Now really! A pure example of a owner who does not care. Now for the service which although friendly very un-trained and really hurt the meal experience. I won’t bore you with the details. I am very disappointed because I am searching for a good Mexican place. My hope is that they improve the drink and food service. Maybe I will try again in a month. Hopefully they will still be there.
