Very good. Small, but clean and everyone was so nice. Lots of flavors and they let you taste before you commit!

Their popsicle bars are delicious! They are made from fresh ingredients in-​store and trust me that you can tell.
They have two classes of bars — ‘quiescently frozen’ or milk/​cream-​based and ‘fruit’ or water-​based.
All of the ‘traditional’ flavors are great but don’t shy away from some of the more eclectic ones. Avocado, for example, is my favorite and another great one is Licuma which tastes like maple candy.

They have a great selection of vegan/​dairy free friendly flavors (ask for the water bars, which are made without using milk). I love all of the exotic flavors and the wallet friendly pricing. The inside of the store is kept very clean and the staff are super nice. They have tables where you can side inside and enjoy or you can walk around the corner to the water on a nice day.
I’ll definitely be back to try the rest of the flavors!

Great Mexican paletas that are homemade and Not Mass Produced.
Small mom and pop store that has delicious Mexican paletas and hard ice cream that you can get in a cup or cone. My favorites are the coconut, guava, arroz con leche, and Pecan caramel. They are so creamy and full of flavor.
The place is small with a couple of tables and chairs. The staff was friendly and helpful in describing the array of Deliciousness! So many flavor to choose from and they’re Addictive!

I was around the area one evening and wanted some dessert, and this place showed up on Unilocal,so why not? Well, I’m glad I did because ever since my last trip to Mexico, I’ve been yearning for some good milk bars. This is the place! The staff is very nice and patient, and for $ 2.50 (for a milk bar), you won’t be disappointed. I recommend the Mango, Strawberry with Coconut, and Fruit Yogurt flavors. So yums!

Tried this place for the first time & was very impressed. Had the cheesecake ice cream and it was great. There aren’t many ice cream spots in the area aside from the usual chains so this was a pleasant surprise. Will definitely be back for the pops!

Yes, the milk bars are pricey– $ 2.50 per pop but it is so delicious! So far we’ve tried avocado, chocolate, coffee, pistachio and my new favorite, mango! It’s usually crowded on weekend nights but the line moves fast.

The cheese cake ice cream was really good. The coffee ice cream was good (about average for homemade ice cream.)

One Paleteria Fernandez on the way there wasn’t enough, so we went here on the way back. Same great product, slightly different selection and space, and same level of service.

Best cookies and cream ice cream ice ever had. Prices are relatively cheap too. I’ve tried a couple of different types paletas which are also not bad but I generally come here for the cookies and cream.

Such a great spot. Everything they serve is delicious. Hard working folks who provide great products.

I have had ice cream here before with no issue. Unfortunately, a few minutes after my daughter started eating her ice cream, she started having diarrhea. I also had ice cream but had no issues. I thought it was from the heat, Memorial Day having got to 91 degrees. But she was not dehydrated, just sick. She and I had the same food for breakfast and lunch. The only thing it could have been was the ice cream. Now she refuses to go back there.

Went there Friday night (after not having been there for a LONG time) and had a life altering experience: whole pecan ice cream bar. Honestly, I couldn’t believe what I was eating. LOVE this place.

I wasn’t overly impressed with this place and sadly dragged some friends here for dessert. I was super excited about getting a popsicle (hoping they were homemade or something), but they looked a little frost bitten and like something I could find at a deli or grocery store. I ended up going for some ice cream and while the portion size was enormous, the ice cream just didn’t taste that great to me. I’m not really sure what was missing, but I’ve had better ice cream elsewhere that tastes richer and creamier. Bummer, I was really hoping to like this place.

Ive been coming here since they first opened. In my opinion one of the best ice cream shops in the area. Everything is pretty much homemade. The pops come either made with milk or without (in my opinion with milk is better). The Lucuma (a Peruvian fruit) and the Dulce The Leche is a must try. They also could dip any of the pops in chocolate if u would like.
The ice cream is also very good. It’s rich and creamy. They do banana splits, sundaes and all that good stuff but the pops are pretty much their strong point.
I saw last time I was there that they also sell food. I have never tried the food but if it’s anything like their pops they have nothing to worry about.

I hate to do this. Just the other week I was saying this is the only place that is always consistently good.
Well, something changed between March and April. I noticed first the new, different wrappers. And then the flavor — – completely different — and the texture of the pops — - even worse. Artificial now too. Before the pops tasted fresh and natural. Now also food coloring in the rum raisin pops– you notice the difference in color right away.
PLEASE P.F. bring the old original pops back!!!

1) Port Chester is a cute little town.
2) It must have a huge Brazilian expat population because many of the restaurants I saw were of the Brazilian grill variety.
3) 4-​hr free parking in the «downtown» area
4) Very easy to get to (if you have a car — I imagine it’s also easy by Metro North)

It was over 100 degrees with humidity and I had a long drive to Boston ahead of me. Thankfully Unilocal alerted to to the fact that Port Chester had a terrific little Brazilian paleteria where I got a couple paletas to cool me off.
The guava was an interesting flavor and it really did taste like eating guavas (complete with the little seed like things in the paleta).
I tried the milk blackberry because it was something different I hadn’t had before. It’s a creamy sweet paleta that tastes like a blackberry pudding.
They have other interesting flavors and the paletas are $ 2 or $ 2.50 depending upon the flavor. And certainly these popsicles tasted a little sweeter knowing that I’m back to being 2 up on the throwdown.

Paleteria Fernandez (aka POP SHOP) was one of the first places my professors and roommates recommended I go after moving to Port Chester. A year and countless visits later, I have to say that this ice cream shop is one of Port Chester’s strongest points.
Hands down, coconut with milk is my all time favorite, but it’s fun to try the others (churros? passion fruit? strawberry with milk?!), and if the mangos are ripe and not too green, get them fresh with chilies…
The counter staff is always friendly, and if you look closely at the posters you’ll see they offer fresh «sandwishes» too.

OMG Guanabana!!! I nearly shed a tear when I saw this flavor. If you’ve never tasted it – you haven’t really lived.
This place reminds me of Mexico or Miami back when I was younger and craving exotic popsicle flavors. They even have avocado flavored pops!
