I have been coming to this place for the past three years now the is nice and Cousy but little outdated I only come here because the hotel is close to my clinic that I visit every now and then.
My advise take the key from the front desk look at the room inspect if all good go ahead if not ask to change.
The fitness center is small needs maintenance only five tv channels on the treadmill that work.

The oldest, smallest and dirtiest Residence Inn we’ve ever stayed in. Without going into too much detail, I will say it seems as if we had a black cloud over our heads on this trip. Filthy pool area, noisiest a/c unit known to man, locked out of the building while the little one has to use the bathroom, no towels, I could go on and on.
I will say the management apologized and compensated us for our issues, but it’s still very annoying and this property absolutely does not live up to the Marriott brand.

We stayed at the Residence Inn for 3 nights over July 4^th weekend. Check in was quick, easy and very friendly. Sondra was oh so very nice!
Our room was fine. Décor and kitchenette area were a little outdated, however it was very clean. We got a 1 bedroom suite and our 4 year old slept on the pullout couch.
The best part about this place was the breakfast! They have a FREE, HOT breakfast every day. Really good scrambled eggs, sausage patties, biscuits and gravy, and also cereal and other «continental breakfast» options.
The location was prime as it was around the corner from BDK’s mom.
My only complaint was that the temperature of the pool was FREEZING! Maybe if they read this they can heat that baby up a bit.
As I stated above, BDK’s mom lives nearby so I can expect us to stay there again when we visit.
***One last little tidbit if you will be staying there for the next few weeks… if you make a right out of the hotel lot and continue down Centerpointe Drive, you will come to a bunch of empty office buildings on the left… they are filming Batman vs Superman there. However, beware because security WILL chase you out…

I move around the country for work and I usually stay at the local Residence Inn. I stayed here for 30 days during October 2013. I must say that this hotel provided a great experience for me. The management and staff went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and make Michigan feel like home for a month. Here are the pros and cons I noticed:
Pros: Great high speed internet, decent workout facility, breakfast everyday (provided breakfast sandwiches some days), great dinners with friendly service (Derrel would make sure everyone felt welcome), safe and quiet environment, and laundry facilities that cost $ 1 for was and $ 1 for dry.
Cons: Location is around an abandoned industrial park (GM Truck plant was there), kitchen was a little out dated (not terrible).
I hope this review helps! After stay here I would definitely recommend it! It was hard for me to say goodbye to all the staff when I left!

Loved, loved, loved staying here on business. Comfortable beds, nice rooms, hot showers, and friggin great service. Sondra at the front desk is a treasure trove of info on the area, and a real classy lady to boot. If you stay here, make sure to stop by and B.S. with her. She is certainly worth talking to. Overall fantastic, especially when you consider the price. This is by far the best of the three Marriot locations in the area.

We stayed here both on our way to and from a vacation in Michigan. The location worked for us, but is a bit remote from night life.
We had a great experience. Our 2 BR suite was roomy, had 3 TVs, 2 baths (with plenty of toilet paper) and the free wi-FI WORKED GREAT.
Sondra at the front desk helpd is with restaurant locations, directions to a 24 hr pharmacy and was just all around available, welcoming and friendly.
The pool was just right for my aging mother.
Breakfast– best I’ve ever had as a free service– we even had sausage gravy on Sunday am.
would surely stay there again!

An OK place which was disappointing as I expected better for a Residence Inn as I generally stay in Marriot facilities. But then again, the Residence Inn in general is growing long in the tooth and this establishment is evidence of that progression. There are 4 separate buildings with the main building housing the check in desk, dining room, exercise room and pool. The living quarters are all separate which is OK in warmer weather but must be a challenge in the winter. The free breakfast includes eggs and meat, hot oatmeal and do it yourself waffles. I enjoy a banana with my cereal but didn’t see one from my third night on (I stayed 2 weeks). The room is large with a small kitchen and a larger refrigerator which I didn’t use much. Although the living area was large, the bathroom sink, closet and shower/toilet area were crammed together. A bit more separation would have been nice. There’s only one elevator in each building and it’s not centrally located so although I had a room just outside the main building I still had to drive around to the back, take the elevator to the top (third) floor and then drag my luggage all the way around the other side of the building. Their business center was 2 PC’s in a back storage room sitting on old computer desks that were falling apart. The final straw was my room was not cleaned one day — not even touched. Some colleagues of mine were staying at the Troy Embassy Suites which I moved to and have not regretted that decision. The Residence Inn may be more suitable for families with the kitchen but still could use an upgrade. Plus the town of Pontiac itself isn’t the best area in suburban Detroit.

A perfectly fine place to rest your head while in the area… and a pretty spectacular (relatively speaking) complimentary breakfast!
I booked a Queen suite (they are all suites, I believe) for one night to attend my cousin’s wedding. These rooms are apartment-like with full kitchens, a pull-out sofa (lucky for my homeless brother), laundry facilities, a very well-groomed playground, indoor pool, etc.
At around $ 89, not a bad price… and I was quite content with the amenities, etc. The room is nothing spectacular, but was clean. It’s a tad outdated, but large and really… I didn’t care much beyond that. Easy parking near all of the units, too.
The breakfast is truly the high point! Served from 730am-10am each morning. Hot items (egg, sausage, waffles, biscuits and gravy) and the typical cold items (cereals, bagels, croissants, yogurts). Full line of juices and coffees as well. Our huge family comandeered the outdoor seating (right of the lobby) and enjoyed a very nice breakfast in the sun with minimal hassle or coordination. A perk, indeed. There’s even to-go cups for the coffee, and they keep the fresh stuff comin’. (I needed a few pots after imbibing a bit too far the evening before).
There are several hotels of this caliber in this «park» catering to the longer stays, but totally fine for a night, too. The lobby has a little snack bar (lean pockets to the rescue that night!) that you can purchase from, and there are several restaurants within close walking distance (pizza, coney island, italian, sushi) that I’m sure are just dandy.
I likely will not have another reason to stay in Pontiac, but if I did… I’d certainly check it out.
