Wyndham Palm-Aire

Such a wonderfully beautiful stay. So relaxing and the staff is wonderful. Only downside is… The bar closes anywhere between 7 & 9?!?

We stayed in the Sabal Palm building. The lobby areas, general areas and the room was clean.
The Room: The room phone didn’t work. The slider door has a metal strip that you can easily trip on. We left the door open most of the time. So, we put a towel over the metal strip so we wouldn’t stub a toe or trip.
The elevators are so slow! Maybe because the hotel is always busy.
There are plenty of things to do while at the resort. The pool and hot tub with a bar near by. A mini golf course, no extra charge. Evenings have entertainment by the pool.
When I arrived at the Sabal Palm building., I asked the security guard if my room #xxx was in this building. She has no idea! She had to call someone to ask. I bet she was embarrassed when they said «It’s in your building»… I just couldn’t believe that a security guard didn’t have a clue.
There is a Walmart near by which is a dirty store. There is also a Winn-​Dixie around the corner. There is a Whole Foods about 10 minutes away.

Great place but you will be thirsty. There is only one bar on the property and they don’t own until halfway through a sunny day. We were told noon, then 1230 and then 100. Make sure to hit up the store if you are trying to have an adult vacation and want to have a cocktail. Pools are great and water slide is nice too. We stayed at a different Wyndamn and only stopped by here for the day to enjoy a different pool.

Advise your friends and do not let anyone you know who is handicapped stay at this said excuse of a hotel. I cant believe this is a Wyndham! Roll in shower chair was a resin chair (3.99 at walm:-t) toilet too low for someone who needs help transferring. We were guaranteed handicap accessible room and arrived on Tuesday to find out handicap rm would be available on Friday! I paid for this PS, it was not a prize or free trip. I left several messages for managers and supervisor with no return phone call. I have now filed a complaint with the Dept of Justice through the American Disabilities act as a violation by this hotel.

Great resort. My family (up to 25 of us) have spent Thanksgiving here for the past five years. Something for EVERYONE! We arrive from different parts of the country and always look forward to a fun-​filled week. Great on-​site amenities, condos are lovely, golf courses, on-​site spa, close to shopping, daily activities for kids and families. We usually secure 4 – 5 two bedroom condos so there is plenty of room for everyone! Staff is terrific and very helpful.

This resort is quite nice but not new. We are staying in the Sable complex with a 2 bedroom apartment which is very spacious. The kitchen area has all the necessary appliances and everything else required for a short weeks stay. the apartment is clean and adequate towels etc were supplied. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and well maintained as are the pools.
We were met at reception by Bonnie who along with another friendly Lady were very welcoming and between them provided us with a great deal of information about the resort and the surrounding area.
Activities leave a bit to be desired but not too bad. Junk bingo, deal or no deal, dancing by the pool etc etc. In other words the usual mundane activities so common in this type of resort.
Nearby as in walking distance there are a number of businesses that provide services required. Fast food shops, supermarkets, medical if required etc etc.
The resort is not on the beach but a shuttle with 10 seats only will ferry people to a sister resort on the beach.
We enquires about tours and were told only one tour picks up from the resort so beware of this if you want to take tours in the area. Most people who stay here appear to have their own transport.
Overall the resort section of the area is really good BUT BEWARE the pressure selling of timeshare. We went to the presentation as we were told it would take 90 minutes. We were there for 4 hours!!! The initial group presentation did nothing but tell us just how bad RCI timeshare is and that we all needed to go over to Wyndham. It is worth noting that Wyndham has acquired RCI so not sure why if it is as bad as the sales people told us.
Marc was our consultant & he was respectful, friendly and dignified in all his dealings with us but at the end the most rudest, aggressive, obnoxious, bullying woman we have ever met anywhere came over to us. As a result we will never attend another sales presentation by any timeshare ever!!! This person had no manners and needs to be trained in how to treat people with respect & dignity.
Overall the resort is great just refuse the timeshare presentation.

Stayed here after my cruise. The Resort itself was very pretty but the rooms need to be remodeled. Staff was very nice. Anytime i would need towels or anything they were very helpful.

Stayed here for 5 days of our honeymoon and had a great time. Although it’s not central to downtown anything it’s an easy walk to a casino and drive to beaches if desired.
Overall I felt the resort was clean. Our room was very spacious with full sized kitchen and 2 baths. The mini golf part is a good bonus which made drinking times more fun. Also alert alert in the evening the side pool near the spa is empty. Each night my hubby and I got to swim alone and it was amazing! Great memories!

Amazing room. Stayed her for my «vacation from a vacation» after 3 days in Disney.
Fully furnished kitchen and a Walmart down the street made it very user friendly.
Very comfortable king size bed, walk in shower, private toilet room and a jacuzzi! Oh, did I mention there is a totally second full bathroom as well? Yes! Plus in unit washer and dryer.
There are multiple pools which were great. I even went of the slide!
This is not on the beach, but we decided to drive to Boca Raton which took us about 25 minutes. Not bad.
Will definitely recommend this!

As RCI members we had expiring points to use so we found this resort. We could have taken three trips to Vegas for the points it took for this one, so we expected a 5-​star resort. What we got was a 3 at best.
PROS: The condos are beautiful. Marble countertops, huge baths, comfortable furniture.
CONS: Walls are thin. Security, that allows unattended children to run the halls at all hours of the night. Small pools. Nice size balcony, unfortunately, furniture not as appealing. While it’s advertised that we can use the beach at the sister resort on Pompano Beach, we could tell there was a bit of disdain when we ask the desk clerk a question. The beach was ok, but filled with seaweed. The water was murky and not inviting.
Probably won’t make another trip here.

Rudest service ever. Ever! It’s really too bad because it’s on the beach, but you need to plan for rudeness from the front desk to the timeshare sellers who pressure you into their «update» and the very nasty attitude from the blond bartender with the Aussie accent at the sister resort Royal Palm Wyndham where you go to the beach. She’s at the tiki bar out by the beach. She took the cake. Started out bad when we checked in. I’ve owned for years and told them I don’t want the timeshare talk, I hear it every 6 months and I’m all set. Pressure, pressure, pressure until I agreed and then they asked for a $ 20 deposit. Really? It’s not an update, it’s sales. They hack us every year with «new» and «better» plans then the expensive plans they sold us the year before. It’s insane, then when I said no thank you it got ugly! The sales girl flipped her attitude. Went to the beach to walk it off and next had the same attitude from the bartender. She tried to be confrontational and I literally said please don’t start, we’re not gonna do this. Well she stands in my face staring at me and when I just stare back and say nothing she calls security. Really? I said, for what? I’ve said nothing to you. She tells me «you’re upset with me for doing my job» I told her that’s not true and don’t put words in my mouth. This woman does the place an injustice. Their pushy scammy sales team needs to back off and let us enjoy our vacations instead of seeing us as prey for their commissions. As for the bartender, leave people alone and stop making crap up. You’re on a power trip. It’s a tiki bar, nothing more. You are a bartender, not a federal marshall.

Dirty rooms and rude service. I made the horrible mistake of exchanging here for a week and it has been the worst week of «vacationing» ever.
They offered no housekeeping, their WiFi is horrible, and the local demographic is also hostel and mean. Don’t waste your time with this place.

Palm sure is an awesome place to vacation. We come every year because it has everything. If u like large condo units, laying by the pool, great shopping, golf and 5 min from the beach — you will be happy. If u want to be right on the beach then u need to visit WYNDHAMs other 3 resorts.

Don´t let the name fool you, the resort is not on the beach. Children running around everywhere but not annoying.
The biggest problem is the loud, annoying, boom box playing every day! It is reall irritating. Please let the power go out!!!
I am currently in my room, on the 7^th floor and it sounds like I am at the pool área with the NOISE.
Wifi is available but at 10mps… so bring your own. It´s best to have a rental car so you can find more places to eat or I supposed you could actually cook during vacation. The kitchen is quite lovely.

We stayed here July 19 – 26.
The room was perfect! 2Br/​2ba with an extra sitting room, wrap around deck with 3 doors out to the deck. No complaints other than the WiFi could be improved but that wasn’t a huge deal & the actual deck floor was horrible! We’d go out to sit without shoes on and the bottom of our feet would be solid black.
There were a lot of activities that you could take part in, if that’s your thing.
Pools are great! I will say, having a pool in our backyard, I’m a pool snob. The pool that is outside of the check-​in/​kids pool, wasn’t up to my standards of cleanliness. I get that pool is where majority of the kids were but the water was very cloudy and that is not good. We went to the pool in our building by the putt putt course. MUCH better and less little kids.
All in all, a great week. If you like laid back, no hustle & bustle, this is the resort for you. It was pretty quiet and plenty big enough. I just there was a restaurant on site.
We are planning to go back soon.

Stayed here again in October 2013. My baby was less of a baby this year. We enjoyed the pools and the playground even more than last year. We also enjoyed the Kareoke (sp?) and Hawaiian show poolside at night. Check-​in was super friendly but was still a little aggressive with the selling, but thats how they earn a living, so no fault on their part. It appeared they were in the process of remodelling one of the buildings at the time as well.
Again, our room was a 2 bed 2 bath. This time we stayed in a different building and the rooms were updated. Everything looked new from floor to ceiling. Spectacular resort! Unfortunately, after staying here 2 years in a row, for some reason our timeshare no longer trades with the Palm-Aire.we’re very upset about this.

The pros: the villas are spacious, nice remodeled kitchen area with large dining space, pullout sofa bed, nice pool
The cons: rest of villa needs updating, the wifi was spotty we actually couldn’t get online at all the 3 days we were there but guest services assured us the wifi was only down for 1 day… in this day and age not having wifi was a huge pain in the butt, villa could have been cleaner, trash area was nasty and guest services was terrible at picking up calls and bringing additional supplies we asked for. Ok, I became a fan of this hotel the very first time I went. Just recently went there for Memorial Day weekend in a last minute mini-​vacation. My sister was renting one of their 2-​bedroom apartments there so I decided to join them and rent my own.
The two bedroom apartments are huge! Full kitchen stocked with everything you need, full size refrigerator and dishwasher. Both rooms are the same in size and they both have their own enormous bathrooms. The showers are the biggest I’ve ever used. There’s a place to sit in the showers. The only difference is that the master bedroom has a king sized bed and a jacuzzi in the room. The other room has two queen beds but have their own fridge. The living room has a sofa bed. The beds are really hard which is the only bad thing.
The property has about 4 different pools, a basketball court, tennis court, mini golf, sand volleyball area, bbq grills, fitness center, spa, game room with ping pong, billiards table, paid arcade, free Wii, movie library, books, and board games to check out. The main pool has a water slide.
There is also a bar and ice cream place. There is a restaurant and outside seating with TV where we watched the Heat game that Sunday night.
We arrived on Saturday and it took a while to get my room but at the end they made it up by giving us a room right in front of my sister’s room. We were 13 in total and everyone slept comfortably.
This is a great place for a mini-​vacation. We brought with us groceries and we didn’t have to spend an extra dime by cooking all our meals.
I’m very happy to have found this place and hope to be visiting back soon.
PS. I just thought it would be helpful to give you a list of the things we brought with us:
Besides the standard Groceries, brought salt, seasoning, ketchup, bbq sauce, hot sauce and butter.
I brought my Presto Electric Griddle for breakfast. This came in super handy because the amount of mouths to feed.
Rice cooker.
Balls for sports (even though you can check them out)
Coffee bean grinder

Good resort, if you know what your’e looking for.
The staff is very friendly. The rooms are clean, and pretty modern. But there’s little mechanical issues that come up. Half the stove burners didn’t work, the toaster was super cheap and missing one of the feet (torched our first slices of bread, only toasts one side) and the washer took a while to start and the dryer ran all night.
There are 3 pools and 2 hottubs. One hottub was down for the first 3 days but the crews came and fixed it. Lots of lounge chairs near the pool, and there were a few activities to do while you’re at the resort. Bingo, karoake, exotic animal show, etc.
You’ll need a car because that’s about it at the resort. The neighborhood looks ‘bad’, and the Walmart across the road is as stereotypical as it gets. But the resort is gated and very safe feeling.
It’s only 15 minutes from the beach and you can use the facilities at the Wyndham on the beach — we spent most of the days there. Room service was kind of shady, we ordered a pizza (which was good) and I’m pretty sure the delivery guy kept the $ for himself by the way he kept insisting on cash.
There’s also a good gym and spa on-​site. You’ll also be bombarded with timeshare ‘opportunities’.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here with another couple as part of a timeshare for 7 days during the last week of November. Overall, it’s an OK hotel, not the best…
The check-​in staff was professional and friendly and the process at the front desk and concierge desk went very smoothly. We were able to check in early at 10 am. Our room was on the 3^rd floor. There are 2 elevators (only one of which is working). The working elevator was very old and in poor condition. The 2-​bedroom, 2-​bathroom suite was spacious and clean. The furniture and décor seemed to be pretty new, and the bedding and towels were comfortable. The best part of our room was the deluxe kitchen. It had everything we needed to prepare our meals. There was a laundry room on our floor, which looked clean, but we did not use. The suite and hallways were quiet.
There were 3 pools in the Palm Aire: one pool was closed and looked a little run down. The other 2 pools were very clean and well maintained. The biggest pool of the 3 had a waterslide which my boyfriend enjoyed very much. There is a pool bar and snack bar by the pool. We ordered lunch from the snack bar twice and the food was pretty good.
Unfortunately, the staff we encountered had no idea about anything on the resort. We had asked one guy if there were any bbq grills, to which he responded he didn’t know. On the first night we were there, we requested a mobile crib for a 1 year old girl. At first, the front desk told us they had none. Then, after we came back from dinner 3 hours later, we found the crib in our room. There was no room service. My boyfriend called the front desk and we were told they only provide room service if you stay there for more than 7 nights. Last but not least, they don’t replenish the beach towels. You’re stuck with the same beach towels for the remainder of the trip. Also, after some days we had to call the front desk so they could provide us with fresh bath towels since we had used all of ours already.
You definitely need a rental car if you plan to leave the resort and do other activities in the surrounding areas. There is no mass transit and finding a taxi/​car service is very hard. You are a 15 minute drive away from Ft. Lauderdale and a 45 minute drive away from Miami. The surrounding area is more commercial than the beachfront resorts. Be advised, this is NOT a beachfront resort. There are many supermarkets, pharmacies, restaurants around the resort, including a Walmart, CVS, Ruby Tuesdays, McDonald’s, Wendys, etc. There is also a small casino called The Isle Casino. Although it is small (compared to the casinos in Atlantic City and Las Vegas), the machines were all new and we had a great time there!
Overall, I’d give this place 3.5 stars!
