If I could rate this store a zero for horrible attitudes and rude behavior, I would! Suffice it to say I have experienced three distinct and separate incidents where two cashiers(the one in the picture twice) have been extremely rude and downright mean to me. Tonight not only did I experience rudeness, but I observed it with a fellow shopper who had forgotten his wallet in his car. As I was waving him to go past me at the Customer Service Desk as I saw he had obviously retrieved his wallet, the gentleman, I kid you not, looked at me and said pointing to the lady in my picture, «she and that other one(also pointing to the exact one I had an issue with two weeks prior to the point I came home and complained to my husband that night) are the two rudest cashiers in all of Publix!» I told him, «I whole-heartedly agree!» He said I’ll file a complaint if you do! I said«done!» I’ll spare all additional comments, but management will be hearing from me.

To paraphrase Gertrude Stein’s «Sacred Emily,» a Publix is a Publix is a Publix. That is for the most part but not all of the time. Every now and then one might come across one with a slight quirk that either sets it apart from the others or makes it different, such as the larger more well stock flagship Publix on 17th Causeway or Wilton Manor’s Publix with its near carnival like atmosphere of fruit squeezing gay shoppers. This particular Publix is pretty much the same as the rest except that I couldn’t help but note some rather different items as well as more of them than I’ve seen in stock elsewhere. Specifically, I haven’t before come across a Publix stocked with so many packets of sliced beef hearts, kidneys or such a large wide ranging selection of package smoked turkey parts. Other than that, very much the same as any other Publix, but because of this slight difference, I thought worthy to note in a review.

Absolutely HATE this Publix! NOISY! LOUD! RUDE! INYOURFACE place! Whenever my wife is there and I try to talk to her on the phone some girl blairs out loud over the PA system at 150db. It is horrible. It’s excessive. And it happens EVERY time so it’s consistent. That or they’re playing some hip hop or rap type music so loud you can;t think. Publix should SERIOUSLY be more careful in the managers they place in their stores. Bottom line: Horrible management. Rude and noisy. Where shopping ISNOT a pleasure.

Normally I wouldn’t bother with reviewing another Publix besides my «home» location, but I got such amazing service today at this one that I have to give credit where it’s due. I have been looking EVERYWHERE for VitaTops(they are a like a low-fat muffin top… Weight Watchers friendly!), and their site says several Publix stores near me carry them. I went to two other stores(including my usual one in Lighthouse Point) with no luck, so I figured I’d try this store while getting a sub for lunch. I noticed the assistant store manager, Azanys(thank you, nametag!) was making my sub, so I asked her. She left the deli counter to help me look. She then asked one of the workers stocking the shelves to look on his hand-held device, while she went to the computer in the front to look as well. The guy had no luck, but she came and found me to show me the computer. She was ready to place a special order for me, but then noticed they did in fact have them in the store… in the freezer section! So she went over there with me to make sure there were there. I’ve never seen someone go so out of their way to help me find something! I was very impressed, so they’re getting five stars from me :)

At the luncheon meat slicing deli area, you get a slice of each meat selection you order to taste. I guess it’s to remind you what fresh thinnly sliced ham tastes like. Mmm, fresh thinnly sliced ham. We had a nice little snack without even leaving the store. Go Boar’s Head.
