they make appts. and do not keep them. The employees are full of «I’M SORRY», but what does that do when your waiting for them to show up and no does. I had to call, after waiting for the 2hour window to end, and then was informed that the intended repairman was ill.
Poorly run company, they’ve gotten to big for their own good.

Marvin arrived on time and went to work explaining what he was doing to address my occasionally slow draining toilets. He snaked the main line to the street and then inserted a camera on a cable and showed me the entire length of the waste water pipe. Turns out, they were clean and the problem is the circuitous route my pipes take to the street. Solution: use septic-​safe toilet paper so it will dissolve when getting snagged rather than build up. The best part? All this for $ 93.

I had Lindstrom in earlier this week to handle a blockage in our master bath plumbing and a constantly running toilet and valve problem in our guest bath. The guy that came was on time and pleasant. However, I was a bit shocked at the price for snaking out the master bath, especially when he told me that it likely would not resolve the overall issue. As for the guest bath, he told me he would have to come later in the week, and it would cost $ 175 to replace the valve. I contacted another plumbing company who wouldn’t give a set price until they saw it. I decided to give them a shot, though. The other plumber replaced the valve and basically rebuilt the toilet for less than Lindstrom’s estimate. My main complaints about Lindstrom are that they charge a lot and that they don’t seem completely honest. For the master bath, they could have sold me the «better fix» from the beginning. I paid $ 250 to have them snake my pipes. The «recommended» course of action would have cost $ 525, but they couldn’t do it that day. I wanted to use my plumbing; I’m only human. As for the guest bath, the plumber called the office about the job. While he was awaiting a return phone call, his son developed a mysterious illness, and he had to pick him up at daycare. Again, I’m human. Those things happen. But now I’m looking at a new fee for a service call. It just seemed a bit shady. I called another plumbing service, and I was thrilled with their work. The contrast between the two places is a big part of this two star review.

FRAUDS!!! SENT a Postcard as if I REQUESTED a water heater maintenance service & if anything happened to my tank I wouldn’t be insured & they would check it for me for $ 59.00…This is A SCARE TACTIC & Wrong Info …& I never used them. never requested anything & they are ripping off seniors in southern Florida… BEWARE READ POSTCARD CAREFULLY!

I recently used Lindstrom to replace a 10-​year old system with a new Carrier. The inspector has just been here and told me, «These guys always do such a good job.» So there you have it. Previously, I was screwed out of a lot of money for the «miracle» UV light which turned out to be useless. It was taken away with the old unit, but that pertains to a different visit. They did a good job on the new installation. My favorite tech is Shaun.

I will give 1 star because I can’t give less. I called for emergency service at 2:45 pm at 10:00 pm I still had not heard from the company and finally called to tell them I could not wait any longer and had to go to bed. The man who answered the phone was rude and told me good luck finding another company. I would not use these people if they were the last AC company in South Florida.

We should have read the other reviews. Lindstrom seems professional from the outside, but their experience level, their customer service and their management dealings are terrible!
We bought a new TRANE 2 years ago from them, when we were told it was going to be $ 1000+ to repair our present AC. One week after we purchased the new air conditioner, we had a recurrence of our original problem, water in the ceiling… After 4 visits, they finally realized that the original leak was caused by a broken pipe which could have been repaired without obtaining a new air cond. (They fixed it with duct tape)
We were not happy to realize this but we figured, we would have needed a new AC in the next few years anyway. Fast forward 2 years, our TRANE was not working. Being under warranty, the part was free, BUT the labor to replace the fan motor was $ 89 for the diagnostic and $ 378 for them to come back and replace it. This took less than an hour. We called the customer service manager to discuss the pricing. We wanted to understand how they arrived at this cost, after all it was under warranty, and cost us almost $ 500 for a warranty repair that took no time.
The customer service manager offered very little in response to our phone call other than «thats what we charge».
We cannot help but feel like their pricing is a total rip off, and that they do not really care about creating customer service relationships for the long run.

This is not the company that you want to use. We moved into a house we bought cash and thus didn’t have a full inspection. When we got here from Chicago we discover that the water heater and the plumbing in the master bathroom needed work. We had didn’t check reviews. The plumber wasn’t professional at all he smelled funny and the replacement of the water heater went quickly but the job in the bathroom took way to long. About two days! Three weeks after the repairs we kept hearing running water in the bathroom. We called them back out and come to find out that the leak was worse then the first. They said that the leak came from a different source and would cost us more to fix. Classic bait and switch. We were disgusted and just called a different plumber and it was fixed easily. I wouldn’t recommend these guys to a slum lord.

I have utilized Lindstroms over the past 4 years. Most of the technicians have appeared honest. Prior to Friday, I only had one notably poor experience. The tech indicated I needed a complete motor assembly which would need to be ordered for $ 750. I waited on it and called for an appointment the next day, thinking I needed the part. Fortunately, the new tech performed diagnostic testing (initial guy just opened the unit and looked in) and determined it was a small circuit which cost $ 80.
Yesterday, I contacted Lindstrom shortly after 4 pm to seek service for my air conditioning. I was told that it was after hours and incurred a higher service fee of $ 125. I was told to expect a call in the evening. 6 ½ hours later, the technician arrived. He looked at the inside unit (just looked at the outside containment of the unit) and immediately commented how old it was and probably needed replacement. I led him to the outside compressor and he carried on for 15 minutes about how old it looked and probably wasn’t worth repairing. I finally asked him if he was going to do a diagnostic and he said he would get tools. As he was unscrewing an access panel he continued to comment on the age and poor condition of the compressor. He did not pressure test lines or assess output of the fan, amperage, etc. He just pointed to an outside line and told me it was leaking oil and that most of the coolant would probably be missing. Again, he cautioned me that repairs would likely be expensive and I would be better off with new inside and outside units. He was unable to determine the age of my system and indicated it would be difficult to determine. He pointed out that I would probably need 8 – 10 pounds of refrigerant @ $ 67 per pound on top of other parts and repairs. Further comments about how he was only looking out for my interests and strongly recommended a new system. He said he could determine an estimate if I really wanted him to try and fix it. He went to the truck and came back with parts costs on the inside flap of a parts box! The initial estimate was approximately $ 1200 but he added that he neglected to enter other costs such as placing dye in the lines, etc. I told him I wasn’t willing to spend that amount. In order to end this fiasco, I agreed to set up an appointment with sales the following day.
As he was on hold waiting to schedule with the dispatcher, he commented, «I’m sure they’ll give you a good deal. I’ll even mention that you’re a really nice guy and I’m sure it will be good.» UNBELIEVABLE!

This morning I scheduled an appointment with Comfort Zone in Ft. Lauderdale.. It was scheduled for the same morning and the technician arrived when expected and called ahead. What a contrast! Professional, honest, comprehensive and carefully explained each point of the diagnostic in laymans terms. I did not share my Lindstrom experience.
He thoroughly examined the inside and outside systems, pressure checked coolant, ran electrical tests and efficiency of each component (I.e. fan ouput, etc). He told me there was no oil leak nor any loss of refrigerant. I paid $ 129 for a capacitor replacement. He also readily determined the age of the system by reviewing info on the inside unit.
A further perk: no push for extras. Everyone I talk to who has used Lindstrom complains about their strong, pushy pitch to purchase their extremely expensive UV light system and contracts
I lost my $ 149 on yesterday’s service call, but, it was worth it to move me towards an honest and ethical company.

Bottom line … they lied to me and said my 10-​year warranty was only good for 5 years!!!
I purchased my Trane A/​C from Lindstrom 6 years ago. The motor quit. They came out and tried to sell me a new motor for $ 1,300. I called Capitol A/​C. They asked me for the unit’s serial number, called Trane, called me back, and said the 10-​year warranty was still in effect. I then stopped communicating with Lindstrom. Capitol A/C’s labor charge for the pick-​up, delivery and install of the replacement motor was $ 70 less than the price Lindstrom quoted. Not once did Capitol ever try to upsell me anything. Lindstrom never stopped trying to upsell me a service agreement. When I made the call to Lindstrom, set-​up the initial service call, waited all day and the repairman finally arrived, that’s when he said I would have to pay him $ 89, for entering my home. He took great lengths to explain that whether or not he could be of any assistance at all, even if he could not diagnose the problem, he gets his money. I attempted to confirm that the $ 89 would apply to whatever work we agreed upon. He said because it is a hot day, and they had many calls, that Lindstrom makes that a variable policy. Because, «we gotta make our money when we can.» Not once, at any level, did Capitol ever explain their concern for profit, rather at every level they expressed their concern for the issue at hand and its speedy resolution. Love Capitol A/​C. Feel polar opposite feelings toward Lindstrom.
I have no horse in any local A/​C company race. I am simply so angry at Lindstrom for trying to re-​sell me something they originally sold me that was still under warranty that I am taking time to write and post this.
This experience makes me think that they must be taking advantage of so many other customers that I wanted to write this to try and stop them from doing this again.

A couple rooms in our house were always hot, no matter what we tried with opening and closing vents around the house, nothing worked. I had Lindstrom out to look at possibly adding another system for the second floor, but was told that we really just needed to alter the duct size in one area and add a second vent to the other. He also mentioned that it seemed the current ductwork may be undersized for the system.
Well, it has been working like a champ since the work was done. It really balanced out the house temperature and brought cool air where it was desperately needed.

We are under a service agreement with Lindstrom, with regular scheduled visits.
Tonight we found out how worthless this agreement is. Here it is, Sunday night, we finally got through on their phone (after 45 minutes wait), our A/​C unit is not working, and their dispatch told us they are busy tonight and the earliest they could send someone to fix our broken A/​C unit, would be Wednesday. This is despite they advertise ²⁴⁄₇ service on their website, and their emergency information they labeled on our A/​C unit:
24 Hours a Day /​7 Days a week
Our Call Center is staffed around the clock
Service Department NEVER closes
We had to call another service, who luckily was happy to get our business, and most importantly, help us out.

I originally called Home Depot to install our hot water heater but upon arrival, it was clear the problems were about to start. The installer (a subcontractor) started off with «I thought this was going to be a simple install?»…“you need a new valve and that’s $ 125 more”…“I need to reposition your drain pipe. That’s $ 75 more”. Well, that was it for him! I asked him to move on and called Lindstrom. They were here in 2 hours (thank you Bob!) and finished the job perfectly for $ 100 less! I’ve never hired Lindstrom before but based on their quick response time, great pricing and friendly techs (thank you Alexander & David!) I won’t hesitate to call or recommend them to a friend or family member down the road.

I had Lindstrom come to fix my air conditioner last week… Tory installed new aluminum coils. Not that I was happy with the price, but, Rheem picked up $ 300.00 of the cost. Tory, was so very professional and helpful in explaining everything he was about to do. He put on his «booties» every time he entered my home and was extremely courteous, kind and professional… Overall it was a good experience and I will ask for Tory the next time I need service… Thank you Tory for the stress free service!

Can’t review a firm I will never use… and I come to that conclusion because of the moronic, silly, totally unfunny television commercials which suggest to me that they think their portential customers have single digit IQ’s and find them amusing.
More’s the pity that the owners seem to think this is the way to go in advertising… instead of pinpointing their so called expertise. Nothing personal, you understand… I don’t buy a car from stand-​up comics either.

High Price /​low service. Bought a top of the line installation two years ago, Great install crummy follow on service. Service agreements are high ($$$$), and for preventative maintenance they don’t do much. No cleaning of coils, Never check existing filters for replacement, try to upsell on every visit, told me existing UV lighting system was out of warranty, when in reality it wasn’t. In fact the power plug had vibrated loose and just needed to be resinserted, accident? not sure. On two occasions I asked to speak to the G.M. about service. NO ONE ever called me, even to written correspondence. However, they are never late with their service renewal contracts. I went to another company… Stay away.

They were at my home for 3 visits to correct an AC problem, changed a part, and devised a plan. Their construction manager won’t return my calls (3) which makes no sense. They won’t even tell me what the problem is. 100% customer service pledge, I don’t think so. Why would you want to do business with a company like this??? Don’t waste your time. AC still not working properly.
Update-​Discovered that the part they installed was incorrect, causing the fan motor to burn out. They commit to the developer to contact me“next week“to correct the situation. Have to assume that this translates to whenever or never as they still haven’t called. How could anyone «LOVE THESE GUYS»???

I was contacted by the Manager of the Plumbing Department, and he was very apologetic of my experience, and made sure I was a satisfied customer. I was reimbursed for the out-​of-​pocket expense to fix the wall, and he is currently making arrangements to have the permit approved and recorded, properly.
At this point, I would recommend Lindstrom Air Conditioning and Plumbing. One needs to learn to speak up and get to the right person, and then allow them to make good on a bad experience.
