Juanitas’s Drive In is in my top 2 favorite food places for the last 35 years. Yes, you read that correctly. This tiny tiny little drive-in has been in business and run by the same family for decades. Even though I don’t live in the area, anytime I’m in the area(within 3 hours) I’ll drive there. Short Review: Great service, fantastic food, and easy parking. Think of it as the original food truck for Mexican food. Go there now. The red hots sauce is unique and fantastic — Tomato/pepper/hotness! Here’s what to order: Meat and Cheese Burrito, and Beef Taco.(Or any multiple of those items like 2X, 3X, or 47X.) Longer Review: Here’s how to determine the quality of Mexican food: — Do they make their own tortillas in front of you? Juanita’s creates their large, thick and soft tortillas on premise. A better flour tortilla cannot be found anywhere and I mean anywhere. Many people don’t realize this, but these tortillas are cooked over one of the greatest gifts to mankind — Fire. Prometheus, himself, delivered the first fire to Juanita’s for making these specific flour tortillas. — Do they make their own Red Hot Sauce aka Salsa? It’s different, but not in a negative way. It’s has a lot of pepper and tomato flavor with a kick. I’ve never had anything like from anywhere else. Some reviewers don’t like, so try it on the side. Their green salsa is more traditional and has a spicy tomatillo base. Go green if you dislike the red sauce. FYI — The 47 Borg that live in the area always go to Juanita’s for high quality food.

This is the best red pork burritos based on a famous family recipe. Delicious! Worth driving to from my city.

The 2 stars goes to the food. the the old lady cashier yelled at me and told me I’m at the wrong window go to the next one to order my food fine did that. If ur having a bad day go home or retire. So It’s taco Tuesday I got 4 tacos for 8 bucks I wouldn’t consider that taco Tuesday specials but anyways the old lady calls my number and asked if I wanted salsa I said yes please she puts two in the bag and I asked for one more she said it’s $.25 because they’re the bigger containers I said never mind no thank you. I come home open the salsa container it’s not even full I am so glad I didn’t pay $.25 I didn’t give them the satisfactory of buying one The salsas are only one for every two tacos u order. Salas is usually free at most places it’s Pomona where most places have salsa bars and beans for free with your order I just paid 8 bucks for ur tacos and u and u can’t give me one more. In that case I will never return. When customer Service is bad my whole experience is pretty bad

Ok i have heard all the hype about juanitas for so long and i was finally able to try it. So I will tell you why I gave it 3 stars. I ordered the famous burrito. The man at window very polite. I dont know his name so the only way i can describe him is husky ;) The home made tortilla was EXCELLENT you can definitely tell the quality and the difference between the home made ones a regular ones. So that is definitely a plus. The carne asada was seasoned very well. Lots of times you can tell some places dont season at all. OVERALL the burrito was good! But the salsa was not good at all. It tasted like straight tomatoe sauce out the can with some spice. UGH The salsa is the main part of a burrito !!! Sad thing is del taco has better salsa in the packs than juanitas. I have had excellent salsa before and this was horrible. So my 3 stars are because salsa is a main component to a burrito.

Friendly service, fresh ingredients, minimal wait time! Unfortunately, no seafood when I was looking forward to a shrimp burrito. Got a carne Asada burrito. Looking forward to trying their other items.

I seriously do not get the 4 stars… I give it one for the nostalgia factor as well as the decent handmade tortillas they serve but honestly there is nothing else redeeming about this place. The food is haphazard at best and has a disturbing left-over quality to it. The beans in my burrito where an over cooked pasty almost soupy consistency that made it an awkward mess to eat. The salsa, which use to be the salsa by which all other salsas were judged, had a terrible metallic canned tomato taste to it. I could go on and on about how bad the food was, but the most upsetting thing is how high the prices have gotten compared to how small the portions have become. Back in the 80s and 90s I knew the owner and I am pretty sure she would be very pissed off at how this place has devolved. Do yourself self a favor and go a few miles north to Pattys where they still make it like Juanitas did back in the day. We would have gone there too but unfortunately they were closed do to a death in the family. Idiot me decided to give Juanitas another shot. What a mistake…

This is my favorite spot for burritos in Pomona. Cheese, rice, and chicken is just perfect for my taste. This location is next to a 7-Eleven. It’s a small little joint for take out so don’t be expecting to come here for dine-in. CASHONLY!!! You can get cash back at 7-Eleven next door but maximum $ 10 per transaction.

I started working down the street from this place and since I finally had cash on me today I decided to try it. The prices were great. I had the taquitos and a cheese enchilada. Neither were my favorite. The sour cream was good ;) The enchilada was flat & hard. Taquitos were dry & tough like they were premade then heated up. The guacamole was some form of green avocado runny sauce. I see many reviews about the burritos. Maybe those are better.

so I was craving. Bean and cheese Burrito with green sauce. I ordered the Chile Relleno Burrito on the menu that says exactly that. Why did I get a dry burrito filled with rice and no beans and a small chile inside? Yes the tortilla was Home made but not fresh. Maybe because the girl that took my order didn’t pay attention. Also order of fries were very small. Kinda disappointed! Also the red sauce tastes like can sauce el pato. ewww

I first started coming here back in the early 80’s when after eating a burrito I would go next door to 7 – 11 and play Missile Command or Pac man. I don’t come here as often now on account that I moved to the big city to the west known as LA but I still try to stop in several times a year. I know I’m old. I pretty much have only tried a handful of items, Meat and Cheese burritio, beef tacos and taquitos. Why change if you found perfection I always say. They taste just as good as when I used to peddle my Schwinn up to the window. I love the way the red sauce melts the cheese on the Meat and Cheese burrito. So good. The hot sauce they have is not very hot but boy it does taste good.

A hole in the wall, simple Mexican food joint. It’s been here at least 30 years, and they still make great burritos. It’s not complicated, just really tasty window service.

I had the red carnitas burrito, and my son had the chicken burrito. We both enjoyed our food and would return. I saw this article in buzzfeed that listed my burrito as #11 of the top 21 magical burritos across america… I’ll disagree there, but it was a solid burrito.

Only had the bean and cheese burrito but it was great. It’s not fancy but for fast take home Mexican it is convenient and priced right. I will be back to this place to try their other items.

When I first moved here, I was curious about this place. It is small, looked kind of runned downed — it made me think the place was sketchy. But one day my boyfriend suggested we tried it, because we haven’t found any great authentic Mexican food yet. Plus, it is right by our house, so why not? We both ordered the carne asada burrito and took it back home. When I pulled out the burrito, to my surprise, it was HUGE! For the price, it was a great size ! Not only that, but it tasted great ! I am a fan of this little restaurant. Too bad it’s almost hidden. Definitely coming back here when I feel like a great burrito.

I don’t think this place is far as good as others rate it. I got the chicken, rice and cheese burrito that everyone raves about and it was nothing spectacular. Felt like I could’ve microwaved a tortilla and threw some cheese, chicken, and beans on it myself. Service was kind of slow when there weren’t a lot of customers there.
