Casa Colina Diagnostic Imaging Center

Came here for an ultrasound last week & did not like my experience at all. I was told by my doctor that the anatomy scan would average about 20 – 35 minutes because they would be checking the baby fully. Well the technician (Jacqueline) started off okay but then a new technician asked her when she would be done like 10 minutes in. The new technician then came in and invaded my appointment. She was talking to the other technician the whole time & asking why she was doing what she was doing & saying «We didn’t do that at my old place.» Why are you checking the kidneys? Obviously they have two, right? Just beyond rude. I was very close to asking her to please get out. Not only was she very rude but had a condescending tone as well. I don’t understand how someone even hired that girl. She should not be allowed in people’s appts let alone yap her mouth the whole entire time.

The only star here is being given to the NIGHT crew. The technician, Wendy, was super kind, supportive and she talked me through my first MRI experience. The gal at the front desk in the evening was a gem. She was funny and sweet, and really warm.
But, today I had the absolute misfortune of coming in for a day time appointment. The front desk clerk told me my charges, and they were $ 200 over what I was supposed to pay. I’m so glad I decided to call my insurance and ask. Do you have an extra couple hundred bucks rolling around in your back pocket? No? Me neither.
When I questioned the discrepancy of the co pay, the desk lady got defensive saying that my appointment was urgent and she «didn’t have time» to check into my deductible. Wait… Isn’t that what YOU DO? I mean, aren’t people who are in administrative positions expected to complete administrative tasks, such as verifying insurance? Just saying.
Also, the MRI technician gave me incorrect medical advice regarding the contrast medium that is administered and it’s relative affect on breastfeeding. That’s kind of a big deal. I don’t want to challenge your knowledge on plasma half life whilst you’re shoving me into a giant tube… But maybe you should double check your textbook, bro.
I had to call: my insurance company to do one person’s job and I have to call several lactation consultants as well as check the standards from the American College of Radiology to double check what the tech spouted off as fact.
All in all… I hope to never deal with those idiots again. And, if I have to go back to this department, make it a night time appointment. Please!

Went here for two different ultra sounds. First one went well and the ultrasound tech was quick fast and got her job done well. Second one was with Cheryl, she was super sweet and respectful. They always get me in quick and seem to treat their patients well even when some people are rude and disrespectful.

Loved the fact I didn’t have to miss work for an appt because they accommodated me at 8pm. I was seen at my scheduled time so the wait was painless. I freaked out when entering the MRI machine; the tech immediately pulled me out and coached me until I was ready to go back in. Who knew I was claustrophobic! And having a really bad cold also made the process a bit more difficult because in my head I thought I’d choke to death while trapped in there with a coughing attack and not much space to move — «All in my head» I just closed my eyes and prayed for it to end quickly. The tech constantly stopped to check on me during the process to see how I was doing. It was like a 20 – 30 min process, glad it wasn’t any longer. At the end he assured me I did great after starting off very shaky & wished me luck with my condition.

I would give the imaging center here 10 stars if i could! I am a chronic pain sufferer and that over time has ruined my veins; last year I had a surgery and NO LIE they stuck me 15 times trying to gain IV access. Well… I have to have another surgery and was referred to casa colina for a picc line. I have seen those on youtube and was completely terrified, not to mention the episode last year scarred me. I sign in and meet my nurse Joni who takes me back to meet the Dr’s asst nurse Rodney. PEOPLE, I have to tell you these nurses know there stuff. Joni is the calming force, Rodney is the burst of confident energy that was needed and then in walks cool Dr, Jensen (the man with the golden touch). I honestly thought I should be sedated for this experience, but that was prior to meeting the totally amazing trio… Joni, Rodney & Dr. Jensen. THanks so much for your wisdom, kindness and ability. You are great!
