Quintessential Jersey pizza– thin crust, many varieties quickly ready by the slice. One of my destinations on the«Pt Pleasant NJ Boardwalk food tour.» Not to be missed. Great seating inside & out, plus nice restrooms.

Very impressed with this place. Came down with my family on Sunday because it was a gorgeous day. About to just get a slice of pizza but saw they offered fresh salads… always a risk getting salads on the boardwalk but decided to give it a go. The Very Berry Salad description really caught my eye… so I got it. Pricey but hey it’s on the boardwalk… I was VERYIMPRESSED. So fresh — freshest strawberries, berries ever. Great quality, and the pizza was pretty good too(and I’m from North New Jersey). Deserves 5 stars for freshness, quality, and great service. The woman and boy at the counter were so friendly. Even the woman asked how our food was when we were eating outside. Whenever I’m back on the boardwalk for the summer, I’ll stop by!

We ordered a plain cheese pie-It did not disappoint! It had a delicious crust, the sauce was very good, such a very flavorful pizza! I can’t recommend it enough.

The pizza there is amazing. The staff is friendly, it’s one of the best pizza places on the boardwalk.

Such a great place on the boardwalk! Near Jenkinsons and a little cheaper. The sauce was yummy and we didn’t have to wait too long. Stick with the regular slices b/c its more like a tomato pie.

The plain slice had the most flavor believe it or not. We also had the chicken alfredo slice and eggplant slice and they were just ok but I wouldn’t order them again.

My favorite pizza place in the area! I always make sure to stop in and grab a few slices when I’m down in point pleasant. I love the location and the atmosphere of this place. I’ve been coming here since I was little and it’s always delicious!

If your looking for really good pizza on the boardwalk; this is the place. It’s also less expensive than jenks. The sauce is really good. They offer seating on the boardwalk as well if you don’t want to sit inside.

First off it is on the boardwalk so it could be a long wait. Price is not too bad and selection is good. And growing up in Westchester and spending a lot of time in the Bronx I know good pizza and this is good pizza! It was a family vacation and we were able to find a table for 8 easily, lots of large table and 2 outdoor sections to eat. We ordered a half bacon pie and white pie. The bacon was crisp and very good, not soggy like it gets sometimes. The pizza was fresh and very tasty. Sauce was not to hot or too sweet. Crust was cooked perfect and crispy. White pie came out fresh also. Good quality cheese and crust also crispy. Not greasy at all. Now why only 3 stars you ask. Well we ordered a white pizza and they brought us a plain. Not too bad yet because they said they would make another pie and it would take 10 minutes. Then the person we ordered from came out and said I ordered a plain and couldn’t have a white. My brother in law who was standing right next to me said he heard me order white and he still argued with us. We then offered to pay the difference and he still have us a hard time. We couldn’t have the white. Didn’t care if we paid extra. Finally a security came over and said he would talk to the manager and they fixed it. I understand mistakes happen we are all human, but fix it. Especially if we offer to pay for it. The guy we ordered the pie from was such a jerk that if I went in again and he was going to wait on me I would walk out.

A definite stop at the point pleasant boardwalk is this awesome pizza joint! I cannot come down the shore and skip this amazingly delicious and satisfying pizza. It hits the spot every time. I just tried their cheese pizza with a sunny side up egg placed on top. It was great! I don’t know why I’ve never tasted that before. The slices are wide and covered in the perfect amount of sauce and cheese. Just be careful, they do heat up the slices nice and toasty so if you’re too anxious you will burn the roof of your mouth. I give it five stars because I am always satisfied with quality and service every time! It’s affordable, clean, tasty and an overall perfect pit stop during your stay down the shore. There’s no other place like Joey Tomatoes!

Not the greatest pizza in the world but not the worst either. My wife had a slice of the veggie pizza and wasn’t impressed. I had a mixed greens salad that I had to ask for like 5 times before they understood me, no I wasn’t inebriated from the Tiki Bar across the Boardwalk either. I too had 2 slices of the Veggie Pizza. It was a large heaping of veggies(Onion, Peppers, Broccoli, Tomatoes) on a crunchy crust and not greasy at all. Ok, but because we ordered by the slice hard to judge. they didn’t warm up the slices enough for my tastes. If this is the best joint to get pizza on the boardwalk I don’t think I’ll be getting pizza the next time I go.

It’s hard to find good pizza at the Jersey Shore but this place might be one of the best. Joey Tomatoes, right on the boardwalk at Point Pleasant Beach and across from Jenkinson’s, has a good variety of specialty slices like Buffalo Chicken, Broccoli Rabe and Cheesesteak. It’s 4.50 a slice for the specialty slices which is a tad bit high but better than paying a buck less for cheap frozen tasting pizza elsewhere on the boardwalk. Unfortunately this pizza is still inferior to places up in Northern Jersey(sorry, gotta be honest!).

Pretty good gourmet slices. I had a breaded eggplant with spinach slice which was excellent and a cheesesteak slice which was about average(but it DID have tomato sauce where I’ve eaten other cheesesteak slices that omit sauce). Crust was crunchy, not tough and pretty tasty. I did have to overcome the sticker shock, but I wasn’t too too surprised since it was directly on the boardwalk across from Tiki Bar. It was enough to deter me from having a 3rd slice. $ 12.50 for the 2 slices(I think from a 16″ pie) and a 12 oz soda. Gourmet pies start at around $ 25 each.

This was my first time eating here and will probably be my last. The pizza was good. I had a chicken and broccoli alfredo slice, which wasn’t really alfredo. I preferred it lighter than heavier, so it was good. Not too expensive, but the service behind the counter was horrible! I wish I would’ve gotten the girl’s name, but she was spaced out! She was paying attention to everything else around her and when you asked her a question, she was slightly confused and then would snap back to reality. She didn’t charge us prior to eating, so when we said we needed to pay, she didn’t understand how we had gotten our food without paying. She made it really hard to be patient, especially with other new workers working alongside her. Management really needs to take care of who they have dealing with the public.

I’ve eaten many an inebriated slice of pizza here at Joey Tomatoes. Sure, it’s a bit pricey compared to slices I get in NYC, but you’re paying for the convenience of having it right on the boardwalk and they are open late. Perfect for when craving a few slices after partying at Jenks or the Tiki Bar. Helps fill your belly and soak up the beer. Seating inside and outside. Clean place and friendly service. Nice spot to grab a seat and people watch like a creeper. Actually, it’s a pretty tasty pizza here. All types of toppings too. Maybe that is the beer talking, but I don’t care. After a dozen beers and a few shots any pizza will taste good. Especially late at night.

It’s become a ritual that I always have to grab a slice at Joey Tomatoes any time I’m at the Point Pleasant boardwalk. Friendly staff, good pizza, clean space, and lots of seating in and outdoors. Their bathroom is always clean too. I’ve had a bunch of their different slices and have never been disappointed. Def recommend this place!
