Kevin Bogan has over 30 years of experience in building hand crafted fishing rods used by professionals and recreational fishermen worldwide. The client has the ability to co-​design his/​her own fishing rod– that is, they can pick their rod cosmetics from a wide array of colors and design patterns, the rod’s components, action and general design use. Our rod building design staff can walk you through the process so you get the perfect rod for your fishing enjoyment. We can accommodate the client with the actions and performance needed for any fishery in the world. What could be better than a rod with your name, your child’s name or your boat’s name with your favorite sport fish and designed specifically for you? History

Established in 1985.

The concept of building custom fishing rods came about as a suggestion by Kevin’s father, Captain James Bogan, co-​founder of the Paramount and Jamaica party boat fleets of Brielle, NJ. Captain Jim saw the need of bringing advanced tackle to fisherman everywhere.

Kevin Bogan first started fishing at the age of 7 with his brothers and sisters aboard the family’s party boat fleet. He spent many years working as party boat deckhand and Captain and in 1981 branched out with his cousin, Captain John Bogan III, to form Brielle Bait and Tackle. 5 years later he opened his own store Kevin Bogan’s Custom Rods in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ where he continues to build rods today.
