The Inn at Pocono Manor

This is the second time we’ve stayed here. Last time was last December. This time it is late May. We had a great time on both occasions. The first night we stayed in room 149, we decided to stay another night, so we were moved to 380. This one is kinda noisy with semi-​exposed ductwork in the bathroom and it is near the elevators. You can hear something like water running all night from the ductwork. I would def pick a different room. The shuttle runs to the casino which is a great perk. The breakfast buffet is really good. All-​in-​all, we like it here and will be coming back!

This hotel is charming. If you are staying in the main lodges, the ambiance and amenities match what you are paying for the stay. I had read the negative reviews here, and thus had my concerns, but we were pleased with our accommodations. The building is 100 years old — you are not going to get the Wynn in Vegas for what you are paying. Breakfast was outstanding, views gorgeous, rooms size was large (king room), bed very comfy, and from my thorough look over, clean — (although I Lysol & Clorox wipe regardless of $ 500 a night or $ 170).
Do the groupon, ask for a king in the main lodge, you won’t be disappointed.

The hotel staff is excellent they had medicine for sale because the person I was with was sick and that was a lifesaver and the room service is great they make the room smell nice and it is very inviting. However the service at the Lamplighter restaurant in the hotel was terrible. The waitress talked to her friends the whole time and we waited twenty minutes for a drink. Would not recommend unless you plan on being a regular.

Plenty to do here. It is conveniently located to the outlets, casino, and outdoor sports. They also offer a shuttle to both outlets or casino for a small fee. I think $ 5. The breakfast buffet was very good with a wide selection of food. The lounge on site wasn’t bad for a quick bite or drink. We stayed here and found the room very comfortable. This is an old resort. Expect some old charm with a friendly atmosphere.
Cons: parking isn’t great, the walls are thin

I usually never comment because I am usually a very satisfied customer. But this hotel is THE WORST!!! I have never been so dissatisfied with a hotel before in my life. I booked through Groupon but before I did I called to make sure I had a pet friendly room. I then exchanged email with 2 different employees at the front desk to upgrade to a larger room for me and my 3 teenage kids. Apparently that is not guaranteed because when I arrived I was told that they could not accommodate my needs even though it was approved by a supervisor Jessica. They tried to accommodate me by charging me extra for an additional room. I found out from another guest that when they checked in they got a free upgrade. Needless to say I would never recommend this hotel and will never return.

We got a great groupon deal for this place and we were very pleased w our stay. Very clean, vintage room w Mahogany furniture and a comfortable king size bed. The staff here is amazing especially at the front desk. Fast check in and always helpful. The archery sport onsite is fun and affordable ($ 15 /​half hr) and the pool is updated and clean. We would return esp for the deal we got (2 nights for $ 261)

We had a family Thanksgiving at the manor. It was the first time we had been back since 2000. 15 years ago. 7 adults and 6 kids. Ranging in age from 70 to 9 months old. Food was very good. The facility has so many common spaces, numerous fireplaces, and game rooms. The only con was that it cost to play ping pong, pool, and other games., felt like we were being nickel & dimed. Should have free activities for kids. They’ve got the room and equipment.

My fiancé and I went here for our weekend getaway. We got a King room on groupon (no package). Our room was nice & clean, and since it was a corner room, it was quiet, and also came with a view. As mentioned from other Unilocalers, the doors do slam, but we didn’t have a problem with it during the night.
Property really is beautiful & there are a bunch of things to do on site– we never drove out until the day we had to leave. We decided to go on their trails and do a bit a bike riding– the trails here are really rocky and so I would not recommend biking through them like we did (we walked our bikes through the rocky parts.) They also have their own movie theatre, which was great because since most people staying that weekend opted out, we had the theatre all to ourselves! Would highly recommend the scenic trail horseback riding there (they charge a fee).
I didn’t like the food though. Pricey for what you get, and it’s not that great.

BUGS. BUGS EVERYWHERE.
But let’s start with the rooms. My boyfriend took me here for my birthday. We stood in a very small room with a beautiful view. The room was simple. I got attacked by mosquitoes all night — counted over 10 bites. The next morning we had breakfast right after I disposed a wasp that was dead by the window. The breakfast was delicious. Coming back after breakfast, there was another wasp on the window. We called room service THREE TIMES before they finally arrived. And I was still covered with more mosquitoes. If you’re wondering, it has only been 14 hours since I arrived and I have not left the Inn yet, and I have already been attacked by mosquitoes in my own room. As if that wasn’t any worse, the second night I had a strange bite which led me to the emergency room when I came back home. It was not a tick bite — but it was definitely something to worry about. I was an antibiotics for two weeks, which is not something I looked forward to coming back home. Oh, and the pool was horrendous.

The room was clean, view was beautiful. And the hotel itself would rate a 4 star on its own.
HOWEVER… they lost points because the lamplight lounge. The service in the lounge was horrible. We had to buss our own table, yes, there was not a single clean table despite there being several empty. We had to flag down the waitress after 20 minutes of sitting there, and any time we wanted another drink, we had to wait and verbally call for her while she was delivering something to another table, as she avoided all tables around her. And at the end, we had to go to the bar to pay our check. The bar was not overly busy. Absolute nightmare. Food was cold, drinks were standard, beers limited. Avoid if possible.

Great property. Jessi at the front desk is absolutely wonderful. She was incredibly helpful on many occasions and always so pleasant. The rest of the staff was also great. Great value and very peaceful.
My only complaint was the with the people who run the petting zoo they associate with. The older lady there was unprofessional and rude. She acted as if I was from Mars when I asked for a sink so I could wash my daughter’s hands after the petting zoo.

I had a beautiful time at the Inn this past Labor Day weekend with my boyfriend. We stayed for 2 days, 1 night and it felt like a MUCH longer trip! There’s soooo much to do (at the resort & in the area), it’s a nice & clean place to stay & the staff are so kind & helpful.
For starters, we were upgraded for free to a beautiful King size corner room (268) with an amazing view of the mountains. We watched the sun rise for a bit and were completely in awe. The indoor & outdoor pool were both large and clean and we went to both! So much fun. The pool bar drinks were great too. We visited both hiking trails (and got lost on one which was hilarious). The signs need to be updated a bit. We checked out archery, the golf areas, the horse stables, and ate off the manor most times. Except when we had lunch at the pub (wings & a club sandwich) which we both enjoyed! Breakfast & lunch are pricey so we had food elsewhere. Very relaxing, romantic, & we definitely plan to come again. We also went to a bowling alley nearby which was cheap and had a great Sunday night deal — I’ll review that after.
Overall I give it 4 stars.

My boyfriend and I came here for Labor Day weekend. Very first thing is there were no parking spaces, but that probably was because of the wedding. When we went in to check in, we see an obese woman yelling about how she needed a golf cart to take her to a wedding that was starting right then, and she notified them 4 hours ago, and demanded the inn pay for her stay. Their fitness center closed super early this past holiday weekend (at noon) even though this was probably their busiest weekend. And they charged us $ 3.25 to make a call to the gym when we got an answering machine because it wasn’t open. Overpriced in general. Rooms are ok.
This only got two stars because the staff were friendly to us, and the bartender at the bar near the pool, mark, was great.

Dog friendly, sort of. Rooms that allow dogs are not in the main bldg. Over three days we did not get any house keeping even though our dog was crated and I specifically told the housekeeper that as we went out in day 3. Minor gripe, but the TV in our room was an old SD CRT dinosaur. I didn’t think I could find one of those if I tried. Room was small, but we did go cheap. Check in is slow. Ran out of TP and took a day to get more. All in all I’d give the facility a 2 out of 5.
The bar was very good. Food service sloooow, but selection, staff, and quality was actually quite good for a bar. Breakfast buffet was very good, but too much and $$$; we could not do it justice. Couldn’t I just get a Danish to go with the free coffee? Food 3.5 out of 5.
Activities of horseback riding and trap shooting were great. Friendly helpful staff. Archery was fun, but public rental equipment is only so so. Onsite gym is very large but is a long walk or short bike ride away. Activities get a 4 out of 5.
Over all 3 out of 5.

My mom booked a weekend getaway at this place and it was amazing. It’s huge!!! They had everything. Pool. Gym. Movie theatre. Game room. Restaurant. Bar. A spa. A horse stable. Volley ball court. I mean this place was awesome. Very huge and very clean. The staff was nice and it was a beautiful stay. The only thing I didn’t like was that the restaurants at the hotel were a bit over priced and if you didn’t wanna eat at the restaurant the next best restaurants were 20+ miles away. But besides that it was amazing with a gorgeous view. I would deff recommend this hotel and I’ll deff be back soon.

They just amazing the front desk is fenomenal they always happy restaurants in the resort the very good. We have amazing experience gym pool indoor pool games free coffee every morning (good coffee) morning buffet food waist very good server to slow but no problem we love it thx

Very nice location and the resort had a lot to do. We stayed overnight just to get away from the usual beach grind. I thought the building looked great. Lots of seating places all over and even a theater and live jazz on Saturdays (we came on a Sunday unfortunately). My down side was the rooms. The kids found a goldfish on the floor, and a dust ball in the drawer next to the bible. And I saw greasy nasty hair all over a very dirty looking bathroom floor. I won’t mention all the spiders on the outside of our windows but it does make you go ewwww. We stayed in «The Tower» which is supposed to be the better spot with a mountain view. The buffet dinner and breakfast were really disappointing, I mean you have a captive clientele so why not at least make the dining experience match the high price. In not sure we’ll give this hotel a second chance to make a bad impression.

My boyfriend and I came her for a weekend getaway over the 4^th of July. Overall we had an okay stay. We had the buffet breakfast every morning and there was a variety of delicious options. There was a long line to be seated for breakfast even though the dining room was not very full as the hostess had to check people in and then seat each party. Things would have been more efficient if parties were able to seat themselves.
Due to the rain on Saturday, the horse back riding and many other activists were canceled so we didn’t have a chance to do much. The outdoor pool was dirty and needed to be cleaned.
The resort was very beautiful and there were some great views.

Pocono manor was a perfect weekend getaway for valentines day. My hubby booked a room in the lodge across the main building and we had a great time. For me, it was more of an issue with the people staying there than the actual manor.
Rooms:
As soon as we walked in I was given a flower for vday, which was a sweet gesture. Our room was a double, very clean and spacious, super comfy beds and tons of pillows. The downside was that the bathroom was tiny and there was a giant closet which was pretty useless. Many people are complaining about the place being outdated, I actually thought it was part of the lure of the place since it has been around since like the 1900s! The thing that was terrible was that people kept leaving the door downstairs open and the snow and cold would sweep in. Also the ice machine was broken so we had to travel across the unshoveled staircase for ice.
Entertainment & Food:
We hung out at the bar two nights and enjoyed good live music and drunk grandparents getting busy on the dance floor. Our waiter had clearly developed his own style, barked at you to order something, took dance breaks and sat down for a quick chat. The food was pretty decent, nothing you wouldn’t find at a diner, but what made up for the lack of creativity on food, they made up with fancy daily drinks! We had some island drink that was delicious and jacked up with rum.
Sadly the pool was always swamped with screaming kids so we didn’t get to enjoy it at all. There was many cozy spaces to sit around and lounge with a book or a good drink which were also nice. Also the movie theater is like a room with a big screen tv, no movies played while we were there.
We did most of our activities elsewhere, and I appreciated coming back to a warm comfy room, but for the price there were just a few things I think need to be upgraded. I also think it’s much more of an older crowd or family resort than a place for couples to spend a romantic getaway. So most of the time it was us and maybe one other couple around the bar. It really reminded me of a royal Caribbean cruise, annoying screaming kids and all.
Overall, I would return, but definitely if rooms went down in price.

Nope. Just nope. The only reason it has 2 stars instead of 1 is because of Rebecca and Latasha at the front desk and/​or guest services. They were both awesome and friendly and courteous and I think did what they could, the problems with the hotels are not their fault, but the general management/​owner.
I obviously like review sites, so I searched for a place to take the wife for a romantic birthday weekend in the Poconos so she can ski and I can fall over while trying to ski. This seemed like an OK option… nope. Onward to the hotel.

because I had reward points to burn, so I didn’t book thru the hotel’s website. But I did my due diligence and made sure I booked a room in the more updated wing in the main lodge. I am currently disputing the picture they put with the room thru
, anyway there was failure all around. I take some responsibility but the picture of the room I booked and the room I got were 2 different things.
We were stuck in the Laurel Lodge, there is one word to describe the room here, disgusting. Now, it was also outdated, gross, falling apart, among other things. Don’t believe me, check out the pictures I’ve attached. Stains on the carpet, a bed that was more a double than a queen (that I booked), and hard as a rock, a shower I was afraid to use without shower shoes, a massive closet with 5 – 6 plastic hangers from the dollar store. I paid over $ 200 a night for plastic hangers and a hotel room that reminded me of the Bates motel. Of course the ice machine was broken, making us have to go out in a snowstorm to get ice or go across the way to the main lodge. The pathway to the main lodge from laurel was in a constant state of slush and barely salted, nice and safe on a downward angle. The shower’s hot water was non-​existent, when I called the front desk they sent a guy over and he said it was working fine, you just had to let it run for awhile. Well we did that and to say the water was warm may be an overstatement. We didn’t even shower on Sunday morning when we left. Again $ 219 a night for a cold shower in a dirty shower stall with a shower head from a summer camp.

so you get the run of the house (any room available). Well on the
website it gave me 3 options, laurel lodge, standard room (main lodge) or kingsize room. I made sure I didn’t wind up in the laurel lodge, because of the reviews. They offered me a tiny room with double beds or pay to upgrade to the king room. Eventually we settled on a $ 50 resort credit because we were tired and I felt that me complaining on the phone would ruin my wife’s weekend. If it weren’t for the activities we had planned off site I would have left this hotel. Hats off to Rebecca for trying to make it right.
The hotel is rampant with kids. I love kids, I do, what I hate is bad parents. And this place is filled with them. I will say this about the clientele at this hotel… let’s just say most people staying here wear a lot of camo and drink a lot of bud. There were people sitting on the sofas in the lobby with their shoes off and feet up on the sofa like it was their home, they were disgusting, loud and their were kids in the bar way later than they should have been, of course not being supervised.
The lamplighter lounge had good service but the food was pretty awful. However, the breakfast buffet is outstanding. After eating at the lamplighter there was no way we were going to try the «fine dining» restaurant in the hotel.
Because there were no shuttles running to the casino because of snow, we just sucked it up and ate at the Mount Airy Casino instead of having to eat at the hotel or spend anymore time in the room than we had to.
Overall this hotel is charging twice what they should for certain room categories. Honestly, there is a Comfort Inn down the road that I wish I would have booked. I paid probably 2/3’s what I should have for the room I got. I don’t usually complain but for over $ 400 for a weekend I got hosed, and you will too. Don’t book here, and if you do double… no triple check the room you are getting.
