Born in Athens, Greece, Jacob moved to the US in 1981 to attend Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. A few years later, he transferred to school in Massachusetts where, though friends in the Greek community, he met another Athens native, Demetrius Tsiounis who was working at the Greek-owned Boston House of Pizza. The two became fast friends, having grown up in the same part of Athens. They met two nursing students and began dating them, and two years later were married to the girls. After 10 years at Boston House of Pizza, Demetrius took a job at Costas Provisions, selling restaurant supplies while Jacob and his young family moved to Plymouth where he opened Plymouth House of Pizza on Main Street in downtown Plymouth in 1997. He soon built a great reputation for pizza, salads, and sandwiches, providing lunches for the local merchants, residents, and the neighboring
