Basic. Basic. Basic. The East Bay is a great night life haunt during the summer months for those in the late 30s to early 50s demo. Great out door bar and patio. It epitomizes Irish Rivera Waspiness. Picture middle aged women cackling together over sparkling cocktails while their pot belly, sunburnt, Tommy Bahama clad partners look on. However, if you are looking for a fine dinning experience there are other options. In fairness the food is good. The food is prepared well and is consistent. 3 stars. Where the East Bay falls down is the length of the menu and what is on the menu. Additionally, the staff, décor, and management present themselves as a top flight«fancy» establishment. I’m sorry but it’s hard to take an establishment seriously when blue fin tuna and filet mignon are on the menu. 1.) These are easy ingredients to prepare in the hands of a competent excutive chef. 2.) It is immensely irresponsible for any restaurant to serve tuna these days. Tuna is an endangered species and serving it at your restaurant sends the message that you don’t care about that sort of thing, you push plates rather than create cuisine, and you think your clientele are uneducated and obtuse. To top it off it was listed three times on the menu. Once as a special, once as an appetizer, once as a regular item. On a menu that was easily over 30 items plus 5 other special offerings it was cringe worthy. Every establishment should consider their clientele educated eaters. Having a snooty air and considering yourself«posh» will only lead to trouble. Which in this case it certainly did. 2 stars.

We had dinner here in October, 2015. We looked at the menu on their website before we went and picked out a few things we wanted to try. Apparently the online menu is very out of date. Nothing we wanted was still on the menu at the restaurant. And the prices were all much higher than we expected. The dinner was ok, nothing great. Not as good as what I saw on that menu. I just checked and those old menus are still on the website. I was disappointed overall.

My father and I go here at least once a month. My father loves the shrimp cocktail and usually orders a few — I can’t believe how large the shrimp are and the plating is beautiful. Every meal I have had has been delicious. The service is normally excellent as well. I do think it’s a bit pricey, but sometimes it’s so worth it. They have a large outdoor seating area as well.

We made a reservation a month in advance. We were seated at a crap folding table near the kitchen or service area with no overhead lighting. Bad on us for not saying anything. Soup was served before we got our drinks(which bordered on 20 minutes). Pet peeve. Food was average at best. I understand that it was very very busy because it was Thanksgiving but come on… What an underwhelming experience. I’ve had great service and great food here before. My advice is don’t go here on a holiday… so disappointing. Boo.

Very nice, indeed. I went here for a date recently and enjoyed the filet mignon surf and turf with bronzed shrimp skewers. First, let me say that they DO know how to prepare steak properly. When I asked for my steak rare and bloody, I got my steak rare and bloody! Yum! We also enjoyed the scallops wrapped in bacon, one of my favorite choices always. I would have loved to give them the 5 star rating, except for the very loud live band that was playing towards the end of the evening. It was so loud that I couldn’t hear my date speak from 6 inches away.

I grew up in Plymouth, and still remember when this was the old school McGrath’s. Probably one of my favorite places to eat and grab drinks when I go home. The patio outside is awesome, although I wish the bar had a bit more seating. Food is solid, prices are high for town but typically worth it. It will continue to be on my agenda whenever I’m visiting.

Average food and bit over priced for the area. Nice restaurant with a lovely view, but the food was really just average at best. We ordered the surf and turf and lobster rangoons. We have had better. The service was friendly and effecient. The décor was very nice with a warm nautical design.

We came here for a late breakfast/early lunch before going whale watching underestimating how much time we had before heading on to the boat. Upon realizing we did not actually have enough time to sit and enjoy our meals here, the staff not only rushed to make sure we got our meals on time and didn’t miss our boat, but they also packed everything up for us, and still thanked us for coming in. They were so accommodating, and the pizza I ordered was delicious to eat while watching whales jump around! Thank you East Bay Grill for putting up with us!

This is a great spot for the summer time. They have a large menu with a variety of choices. There is a always atmosphere and a good crowd. The dining experience is great both inside and outside. Steak tips are great as well as tghe beef carpaccio and caprese. I have been here a handful of times and will keep coming back. Also there out door bar is a great place to hang out on a summer night.

I came here on a Sunday night as a party of 8 with no reservation and only waited five minutes. We were able to order drinks, appetizers, and dinner, However we did quite a while for the bill. The ambiance inside is quite fun and cozy but the outdoor bar is where the fun is at! There’s a large outdoor area that we would have sat at if it was earlier in the day or if they had some heaters. Sage was our waitress and she was great. Out coconut shrimp appetizer was overcooked and she quickly brought a new one out with a smile. My salad was good and the Stratler Chicken with asparagus was AMAZING. We will definitely be back here again.

Everything was solid at this establishment. I wish we would have sat on the back patio, but it was a bit too hot and humid to be comfortable. The views was terrific. I hope to return and have a drink while sitting in one of the Adirondack chairs on the back lawn. We started dinner with a lovely cocktails. My was balanced. Others in our party opted for sweeter options. We all had different fish and seafood options, including striped bass, sea scallops, and lobster ravoli. They were all generous portion cooked well.

An excellent experience. We walked in at dinner time on a Sunday in August and were seated immediately. Our waitress was attentive but not intrusive. We received drinks and ordered quickly. Every time we finished one course, the next course was ready. All of our food was well prepared and delicious! I would definitely come back and recommend to anyone in the area!

My cousin Michael P. and his family took us to East Bay Grill after a day of sightseeing and shopping at Plymouth Rock. Located on the water, the atmosphere was excellent. Now that I look back on the experience, we definitely should have requested to sit outside(not sure why we didn’t) since it was a beautiful day. Our server was very friendly, although seemed a bit frazzled even though it wasn’t crowded(2pm on a Thursday). Perhaps they were understaffed and he was handling more tables than usual. We ordered the calamari for an appetizer since we were famished. It was better than most calamari that I have back here in Jersey. The spicy aioli was an excellent addition instead of the usual marinara sauce! My husband ordered that Italian sausage sandwich lunch special(bad choice at a seafood restaurant) which also included a cup of soup. When I asked him how his sandwich was he replied, «meh». So I guess that’s self explanatory. My daughter ordered a caesar salad which she gobbled right up. My cousin Mike ordered the clam roll which he liked very much(I should have asked him for a bite). My two younger cousins ordered a coup of New England Clam Chowder, which they did not like one bit. I tried a small spoonful and it was very blah. I would describe it as bitter. I ordered the lobster roll(my first ever! I know, right?). I was not sure what to expect because it was my first try. What better time to try a lobster roll than a visit to New England? There was an abundance of lobster with very little filler. There was a ton of mayo though. I don’t mind mayo(unlike most people I dine with), however, it was very overwhelming. I had to ask my cousin who ordered the same meal, if this was how it was supposed to be. It was definitely not. I was starving, so I ate most of it, but I wouldn’t order again. Overall we had a nice lunch. Unfortunately, this was mostly in part to the atmosphere and views at East Bay Grill rather than the quality of food.

Have only eaten at the outdoor bar. Went here on Mother’s Day when my family wanted to go to the more casual restaurant near by. Had a smaller menu for the holiday, but still a great menu. Had my favorite IPA lagunitas on draft and ate the coconut shrimp, Delish! We even stopped back for another drink after walking around town because we enjoyed the outdoor patio so much!

I hate to be harsh on a place that is always so packed, but for us the experience was less than amazing. Our reservation was honored and we were seated very promptly. There was a bit of a delay before our server acknowledged us; it was 8 minutes before we were greeted and asked if we would like a drink. The table and seats felt a bit sticky(as in wiped down with less than clean water), and the environment was very, very loud. We were seated near the bar, separated only by partial glass wall from the televisions and bar area. That area got much louder as our meal progressed. The fish selections were much the same as Blue Eyed Crab across the street — lots of cajun or jerk seasoning. Although listed on here as «new American», I’d put the cuisine in the 80’s or before, and kind of stuck there. The entrée and appetizer and salad offerings were extensive, but dull. I had a salad with no meat as nothing else sounded tempting. I debated having fish tacos, but they are served in flour tortillas instead of corn. It just isn’t a taco for me if the tortilla isn’t corn! The salmon was an option, but it is all farmed. The non-farmed fish entrees did not sound appetizing to me. There’s always shellfish, but believe it or not, there IS such a thing as «too much lobster» if you live here. The salad was ok, but it felt confused, with too much going on and none of it really coming together for me(which a good salad certainly can do!). It was like a pile of unrelated items not really anchored by the dressing. I think a different dressing would have completely transformed the salad. Also the salad was written up as having cherry tomatoes… I counted 3 grape tomatoes. Strawberries were heavily macerated and I suspect previously frozen which is a bit of a disappointment. I could not taste tarragon in the dressing, which I think could have been a bit more acidic to counterbalance the sweetness of the limp, frozen berries and the nuts with their sugary coating. Spouse had beef tips and reported that the mashed potatoes tasted artificial, and the mixed vegetables served with appeared to be just some dry, unseasoned steamed veg. He was not happy with the texture of the cauliflower. He also had clam chowder, and reported that the potatoes«didn’t feel cooked». I had a little taste, and thought it tasted a lot like bologna. The tips were huge, both in terms of portion size and of the cuts of actual tips. It was enough meat for 4 people. The outdoor bar area appeared to be very busy, and outdoor tables were loaded with folks knocking back adult beverages and snacks. We didn’t go out to scope that area; it appeared comfortable and the people seated there appeared to be enjoying themselves. It wasn’t terrible, and we did eat, but we have had better. We probably won’t be back.

We stopped in Plymouth on our way home from Cape Cod. This restaurant was recommended to us and it couldn’t have been more perfect! We had: Appetizer: Crab salad & Calamari Both were delicious and large portions! Dinner: Arctic Char– large piece of fish with lobster over lettuce & potatoes Seafood Kristopher-cream sauce with large shrimp, lobster pieces scallops Everything was delicious and will definitely go back when we are in town. We arrived at 5:30 and they had complimentary valet parking which was helpful. When we werre ready to leave the entry was full of people waiting for a table so get there early!!!

This is a great spot, whither you’re looking for nice meal, or you want to do some dancing on the weekends. It’s not a cheesy club vibe or anything, but they’ve usually got a band playing on the weekends, and there’s a little space for dancing in their bar. The people watching is outstanding too… but that could be a whole other review! The food is pretty solid, and honestly, I’ll be looking forward to spending a warm summer evening out on their patio! A meal here is a must if you’re looking for a great place to eat in Plymouth.

one of our favorite places to have dinner. My husband and I started coming here when we first started dating and we come a few times a year ever since. We love sitting outside on the patio which overlooks the water, but sitting inside is just as charming. Lobster bisque and clam chowder are both awesome, along with the shrimp cocktail. My husband often gets fried seafood dishes which he always loves. My favorite is the salmon salad which is beyond amazing!!! Seafood Christopher is also an awesome dish if you are looking for pasta or something a bit heavier. Never any complaints and the waitstaff is obviously chosen with precision.
