Christos Family Dining

I won’t be back, but while Christos wasn’t for me, others certainly might like it.
I love food and search out high quality, fresh, homemade food, even if it costs a bit more. Christos does not fit the bill.
However, if you are looking for a lot of food for a low price, then this is the place for you. I got the fried chicken — and I think they gave me the entire bird! The plate of chicken I had was massive, and it wasn’t bad. Everything else was bad, though, but it was a lot of food and for under $ 10. So it just depends on what you’re looking for as to whether you’ll like this place or not.

Good food, reasonable prices, and good service. I really like the décor, too! The best place to eat in Plymouth.

Good family food, great breakfast. We visited at least once every trip while daughter was at the Academy.

First time at this beautiful restraunt. The experience was undelightful. I ordered a steak medium and got it well. When I pointed it out to the server she said well I can’t uncook it. Her manager came around and said medium steak is not pink in the center and they usually wouldn’t recook a steak but they would for us but he would put it in for medium rare and cook more if I didn’t like it. While the server was standing at a table directly beside us talking to a friend about us— she started snorting like a pig when I flashed her a look she apologized and said he was a close friend of hers. They did replace the steak and brought pie to try to make things right but when the staff is that rude we will never go back and I will not recommend it to any one else. The food is average and not worth the atmosphere.

Unbelievable place. Staff is fast friendly and efficient. Prices are within reason. Portions are more than enough and the Ribs are beyond description. Can’t recommend enough

I have never had a bad meal here. The food is awesome and lots of it. The homemade ravioli was great.

We always stop here for breakfast and lunch when passing through Plymouth. Food is above average, portions are huge, many options. My go-​to is the tuna croissant with battered French fries, yum! Hubby likes the pork chop breakfast. Best of all, they serve Douwe Egbert’s coffee!

Very good food, fast and friendly service. Prices are very reasonable and portions are very generous. One of our favorite restaurants in the area and worth the drive.

I’m writing this and ONLY installed this app for this review! This restaurant used to be my favorite place to eat in Plymouth! But after tonight, I don’t care if I EVER go back! VERY sarcastic and RUDE Waitress and a manager that just keeps shluffing complaints off, like they’re making $$ so one customer’s complaints don’t matter! It’s ridiculous! We don’t go to a sit down restaurant that often, and we CHOSE that restaurant tonight, out of many others that Plymouth has to offer, you’d think they’d appreciate they’re clientele better!

First visit, Inside is pretty, love the stained glass doors walking in. Ordered biscuits and gravy with side of eggs along with hollandaise sauce. Food came out fast, service was prompt. You have to pay at the counter. Prices are decent for the proportions.

Loved this place. We went 2 days in a row for breakfast. The first day we had a great waiter the second a waitress not so happy. The food was good and close to our hotel. I would go there again.

Been to Christo’s several times, always a happy costumer! Never had any problem with the food, (except the extremely hard rolls, but I’m overlooking that). Breakfast and Lunch is great there! Plenty of food for your money! I suggest Christo’s as Plymouth’s best family restaurant.

This was my first and last visit to this restaurant! I was very disappointed! For starters the menu is a book… No joke it was heavy too. The salad had rotten pieces in it and did not appear fresh. When my salmon came out it smelled horrible and was very «fishy», I eat salmon a lot and have never smelled it coming before. I did not eat it!
The waitress was extremely nice and understanding. She offered a new meal, when I declined she brought a dessert. The apple pie and ice cream was good but not worth the trip back. My husband order the gyro and it was ok. My father-​in-​law ordered chicken Parmesan with mashed potatoes which he said was cold. Overall I would not recommend this restaurant.

Well, we love a good diner and we like this one so much we came here twice in one day!
Had a good lunch with family and friends AFTER the noon rush hour — so we could sit and chat a while. Server was ok with that and came back to check on us and refill our drinks while we reminisced. All the food was good. HUGE menu. Turkey sandwiches were real roast turkey, not lunch meat. Good soups — I enjoyed the lemon rice soup very much. Also enjoyed were the burger on pretzel roll, cajun chicken salad — good flavor on the chicken — and hot dogs.
It’s a nice, family friendly place right off the highway (toll-​road?) Great service. Casual, ‘days gone by’ atmosphere. Cool maps and photos along the aisle to the restrooms, antiques in the opening areas. Nice plants all around. Plenty of parking, even for an RV. Little grassy area in back to give the dog a run!
So, we left the group, took a reminiscent tour of the area… and stopped back here for dessert and coffee before heading home! Had another really nice waitress. She even met us at the dessert cooler when we went up to look at what they had!!! :)

Everything looked so good! We decided on coconut cream pie and lemon meringue pie. We were both happy with our choices. Delightful! And good coffee too.

Good food and good service on a Friday right about noon. Decent prices and plenty for the price. Pleasant atmosphere, too. Now on with our trip.

No complaints! This is a good place to get traditional american food. Nothing really to write home about, but nothing bad either! They just remolded from 80’s retro to a vintage old feel, I love the new exterior of the building, it looks very interesting. As you walk in, you feel as if you have been taken back to the early 1900’s with all the vintage lighting, and soda shop feel.

Christo’s has been beautifully, elaborately remodeled. They now have an awesome dessert counter and have expanded their menu. The help is awesome and the food is great.
If you are in a hurry during lunchtime though, BEWARE! We went there for lunch during a summer day and ended up having to take our food out in containers because it took so long, despite telling the waitress at the beginning that we were pressed for time. We had 45 minutes and they just couldn’t cut the mustard. Might be different during the school year.

Charming family dinning. The décor is vintage and quaint. The menu is several pages long and quite varied. Traditional options like mozzarella sticks, loaded cheese fries, taco salad, and quesadillas.
A friend ordered a Greek dish with spinach, cheese and phyllo/​dough, the presentation was appealing.
My quesadilla was not the golden brown I prefer, but pleasant tasting, however the salsa was very spicy, too much so, and they only have one type.
Where they truly excel is their pies. I had peanut butter chocolate & it was fabulous! My friends had lemon meringue & coconut cream, both said it was great.

We had breakfast only — the omelets were the thin rolled up kind with too much milk in the eggs so they lacked flavor. The hash browns (larger portion than the omelet) were the thin shredded kind and were crispy on the outside and not at all greasy.
Wheat Toast was a light brown with no grains visible –very low cost and low flavor.
Bathrooms were very clean however and the staff was nice.
Safe place if you must stop in this area but no culinary excitement here.

What a great find! We were dithering around the lobby of our motel, using the internet and perusing the brochures when the friendly desk clerk informed us of a few things:
a) a lot of restaurants in Plymouth are closed on Sundays, thanks to liquor laws
b) Christos was open and was «sort of like Denny’s.»
We looked at a quick review online and decided it fit the bill — we were looking for inexpensive, homey, soup and sandwiches sort of place.
Turns out Christos is related to the Round the Clock family of restaurants, of which we were fond of the Valparaiso location. So we knew we’d found a good place.
Our server, Alaina, was really nice, helpful and friendly, so I wanted to make sure she got a shout-​out. To say Christos is like Denny’s is a bit inaccurate — it’s a Greek diner, essentially, but heavy on the American food, with big portions and low prices. This sort of place is common around Chicagoland. But it wasn’t really the same old food. They did have breakfast available all day, but I went for a «Chicken Mykonos» sandwich and my husband had a turkey club.
Our sandwiches came with soup; I had some lovely creamy lemon rice (though it could’ve used just a hint more tartness); my husband enjoyed his chicken dumpling.
My sandwich was a seasoned grilled chicken breast on delicious French bread, with feta, tomato and a garlicky spread. The chicken was just a hair dry but was saved by the accoutrements. The fries that came with it were great, with a lightly seasoned crunchy batter coating.
My husband reported his club tasty and devoured the fries.
The ambiance is homey, comfortable, with friendly folks and a pretty fireplace.
While we’re rarely to never in Plymouth, we can wholeheartedly recommend Christos and any of the restaurants in the Round the Clock family for a great meal at a good price. And if you go to Christos, ask for Alaina. :)
