Brightmont Academy is an accredited 6^th-​12^th private school with a mission to provide one-​to-​one instruction to help students reach their full academic potential and prepare for college and career. At the center of the personalized learning approach is one-​to-​one instruction: One teacher works with one student to individualize learning pace, style, and goals. Students can enroll in a customized academic program on a flexible schedule and start any time of year. Brightmont also offers courses for credit, tutoring for grades 3 – 12, test preparation, and college and career assessment.

History

Established in 1999.

Brightmont Academy has served more than 2,500 students since 1999 and has campuses in Arizona, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, and Washington.

Meet the Manager

Jess E.

Manager

Jess Elbing, Campus Director

As Lead Teacher, Interim Campus Director, and now Campus Director of Brightmont Academy, Jess enjoys working one-​to-​one with students and witnessing the progress achieved by each student. Jess has been instrumental in providing leadership and serving as a mentor at Brightmont. She fosters a learning environment with effective student-​teacher interaction. By collaborating with staff and families, she motivates students to become problem solvers and lifelong learners. An active member of the Brightmont Academy Advisory Board, Jess provides the board with feedback about current and potential services to support the goal of continuous improvement.

Jess has more than 8 years of experience providing meaningful instruction to students. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English and elementary education with a specialty in communication arts and literature (grades 5 – 8) from the University of St. Thomas.
