3&UP Board Game Lounge

This was my second time here, but the first time as a «regular customer» — my first time at the board game lounge was with the Unilocal Elite event.
I had a Groupon that I had actually purchased before the event, and it was expiring next week so I had to use it. A board game aficionado friend and I went today, and it was a lot of fun — he’s planning on coming back and bringing our other board game friends with us.
We played Where in the U.S. is Carmen Sandiego?, Jumanji, Operation — Shrek edition, and Deal or No Deal. All were board games except DoND, which was electronic. All of the games were in pretty good shape too except Jumanji, which was showing a little wear and tear, probably because it’s from the ‘90s. I think I liked Carmen Sandiego the best, as it involved trivia and also a board game-​type setup.
The Groupon also included 2 bags of chips and 2 drinks which was nice — all of the snacks that the shop sells are made in Michigan (Faygo, Better Made, etc. — even La Croix, which I didn’t know is made here) OR you can bring your own beverages or snacks, which is nice. The (owner, I think?) comes around to help you learn any new games, too, and can recommend any games if you’re unsure which game to pick — they have over 1,000 games to choose from (!).
Definitely will be back here at some point! I love board games and also card games.

If you are looking for a creative unique night out you need to come and experience this place! There are so many board games to choose from, games that you will even forget about until you come here. They have a snack bar area with ONLY local MI brands (Faygo, Bettermade, ect). How great to support our State. You have the option to bring your own beverages and food as well. Trying to plan a party call up and set your reservation.

This place is so much fun! Our family is big into board games and I feel that this is a great place to ‘test out’ a game before you purchase it. They have over 1,000 games, including a special area with a TV for games like Scene-​It. They have a snack area which sells pop, water, coffee and small snacks, but they also allow you to bring in your own refreshments (alcohol included). I am not 100% sure on the pricing. I believe it starts at $ 5 per person (with some time constraints). There were 4 of us there for over 3 hours and we all purchased a water and our bill was just over $ 40. That might seem steep, but if you spent 3 hours at the movie theater, you would have spent more than that and not been able to enjoy each other’s company. There are so many games here you are bound to find one you like. It is also fun to take a trip down memory lane checking out all of the older games as well.

Lots of fun board games here. They let you bring your own snacks and beverages but that also have a snack bar. The staff is friendly and helpful. if you don’t know what you want to play, they can help you.
We learned a few new games and really enjoyed ourselves.

Visited for the first time this week and part of the Unilocal Cookie Exchange/​Holiday Party and I had a blast! With over 1000 board games to choose from, it’s hard not to have a good time! As soon as we arrived, we were greeted and given a run down of the place. They push for an «electronic free» zone, so it’s a great excuse to just unplug from everything for a while and enjoy the people you’re with. After a quick walk through and grabbing a bite to eat, the search for the perfect game began ;) The staff members know their stuff and can answer just about any question you may have. In addition to nearly endless games, they also offer a variety of snacks and drinks at a great price. I was told they’ve been in business for about a year and a half… I’m hopeful that they’ll be around for much longer!!! Definitely a spot to check out on your next visit to downtown Plymouth!

It is a coffee like lounge where the main theme revolves around board games!
Go on their website and check out their calendar to see when they have «open gaming» meaning you can drop in during that time without a reservation or party. They have just about every game imaginable. From family games to the classic kid games to party games to card and dice games.
All games are organized by categories and the staff is very helpful with recommending a game, explaining how to play a game or finding the game you are looking for on the shelves. You will walk in, grab a table and pick out a game to enjoy. They also have coffee drinks and small snacks like chips for purchase.

Brought my date here for a unique idea to have some fun. I picked up her eying some of the games from her child hood, such as ‘Don’t break the ice’ so I made sure to play those. We also had the guy recommended a few games that were fun for two people.
There are two private rooms to rent supposedly. also don’t forget you can bring in any food or alcohol. The place is not near anything else, two blocks from the park so bring something with you!
So much fun!

I went in as a skeptic, thinking, why would I pay to play for a bunch of board games that are in my living room? However, I was pleasantly surprised. On a Friday evening, I took my 2 nephews and sister to get into some heavy games of Life, Payday, Hungry Hungry Hippos, Sorry (I’m not), and a few new ones recommended by the friendly gent who wanders around offering tips. They have all kinds of stuff on their calendar, and a cool feature to put a «free parking» sign on your table if you welcome other players to your area. They also have 2 private rooms you can rent out for parties. If you have loud friends, that would be a great choice. That’s the only thing I noticed, it was soooo quiet in there, despite a table of soccer Moms who were there for girl’s night out. There were only 3 tables at play, and a couple of private parties. They have a small area where you can purchase food and drink and they feature Michigan made products like Faygo and Better Maid chips. Super inexpensive.
The BEST part is you can bring in your own food and drink and the place is spectacularly clean! I’d recommend this place to everyone, but I don’t want them to find out about it, because they would all leave crying when I beat them in Don’t Break The Ice.

They have every game you could ever think of, whether you’re looking for something quick or strategic. The versatility of this place is what makes it so wonderful. Sometimes my boyfriend and I go in just to find new games alone, sometimes we look to meet new friends there (put a Free Parking sign on your table to make everyone know you’re looking for more players!), or we bring a whole group of people. It’s perfect no matter what mood you’re in. There are louder areas and quieter ones, even little private nooks with TVs in them for games on DVD (like Scene It). You can bring food in or buy snacks there. Employees are sweet and helpful, very accommodating. They’ll always offer help or even play a game with you, but aren’t pushy and let you do your own thing at the same time. Reasonably priced. Clean. Pop in for an hour or all day! One of the best places in Plymouth, and there’s definitely no other place around like it. I feel fortunate that it’s so close :)

Excellent place for a group get-​together or fun date night idea. They literally have over a thousand board games to choose from. Food and drink prices were very cheap (~$ 1 or so for water, pop, etc.). If you’re confused about a game, there is always someone there who will help you with the rules and help jump-​start your game. If you don’t know what game you wanna play, a game can be suggested for you depending on your interest. Alex was really helpful when we were there for game night.

This place is really a gem. Over 1000 board games, late hours, ability to bring in your own food, a little food station, and friendly staff makes this place a serious win.
Went here for my friend’s birthday gathering and we ended up staying over 3 hours we were having such a great time. I love that they take polaroids of their guest and post them with pride. They recently had a day that was free all day for international table top game day.
I think overall I paid $ 11 for the night. At first glance, that might be a tad expensive but I figure with all the stuff I mentioned earlier it’s really a good deal.
So if you’re looking for something family friendly during the day or something hilarious with your friends at night time, I seriously encourage checking this place out.

This place is great, they have nearly any board game and scene it you can imagine, and its super fair pricing and really fun! Will be here monthly!

Heard about 3&Up from another home schooling mom and when I was looking for a group outing we came here. Chris and his staff have are very helpful — even opening early for us. Both the moms and the kids love the selection of games and the fact that we can bring in outside food. And I love that we can ‘disconnect’ from electronics and connect with each other.
If you’re looking for an afternoon of fun, a family night out or a date night, this is a great place to go.

If you’re looking for something different to do with friends other than a movie or a coffee shop, or bar, check this out!
A friend and I decided to do something other than a movie on a late night out after dinner… I had heard of game board lounges in Chicagoland so I searched it here and found 3&up. They boast of having at least 1000 games available, from meta, role play, strategy, party and family games.
You can bring in food and drink but they also have a small snack bar with Michigan made items.
Entry for 90 minutes is $ 5 per person and you start a tab with a card. Anything from the snack bar is added to the tab and you cash out when you leave. If you play longer than 90 minutes it is $ 3 for each additional hour.
They have some semi private areas to play with chairs and couches, and then three more open areas with high top bar tables and stools, tables with stools benches or chairs.
They can recommend a game, or give you a binder with a description of game types and titles by minimum player. Staff will reshelve the games in their alpha order on the shelves in the appropriate areas to make them easier for others to find. You can also use a «Free Space» sign if you will welcome others to join you in a game.
Children over three and under twelve are welcome with an adult. Many games possess pieces that could pose a choking hazard to children under three.
The atmosphere is very nice and casual, family friendly for the most part unless (like tonight) larger groups of adult friends are playing and forget where they are, letting the language become highly inappropriate for some of the children that were present when we first arrived (it also doesn’t help that the group was playing Cards Against Humanity).
Staff was more than willing to help suggest games or find them for us. We only played a couple that we remembered from our childhood but we will be back.
Not only is this a great meeting place for friends but also for families – and a great way to try games before you buy them.
The best part of all, in my opinion, is this place is all about reconnecting with the people you came in with so it is an electronics-​free-​zone unless you are in a position of saving lives, saving the world, or an expectant parent. Otherwise, put that phone away!
