Mikey’s Neighborhood Bar & Grill

Had an excellent evening at Mikey’s last night. There were about 4 other tables occupied when we walked in, and the bar seating was about half full. Our waitress, Gabby, was very friendly and helpful. We had mussels for an appetizer with some delicious bread to dip in the cream sauce. My steak was done to perfection, and my husband’s burger was great. For drinks I had a bloody Mary and a specialty drink, the coco cabana (which made me just long for summer!) We felt the prices were very reasonable for what we received, and we’ll definitely be back!

Went on a Monday night. Service was very friendly. Service was a little slow at the end of our meal which surprised me since we were just about the only ones in there. Had a scallop dish. A couple of the scallops could of used a couple more minutes of cooking. The sweet potatoes were very good — cooked with pecans, bacon. My dinner companions had the lobster trio and they found it pretty good. Dessert was a lemon berry cake which was amazing. A must try. Their cocktails are very good. A must try is the blackberry old fashioned. Mmmm. We will definitely return. Love the décor and bar area with big screen tv’s!

food may be good but waited 20 minutes and no one even came to wait on us… bartender had a few customers, but was like 5 pm… we finally left. this is like the 3^rd time we’ve waited and left. when we stayed, still long wait… staffing is a bit too lean?

I was briefly in town for work, found this place on Unilocal and it did not disappoint at all. The roasted plum appetizer was creative and delicious as was the seared ahi with roasted sweet potatoes, and summer berry salad.
The bar staff was especially friendly/​knowledgeable and even though I’m not a beer person, I tried the Founder’s breakfast stout and it was one of the best beers I’ve ever tried.
This place is not «good with an asterisk» for being in a small town; these plates could hold their own anywhere.

I don’t not frequent this place enough. The bar staff stands among the best customer service you can get in the Point area. Eric and Chad are outstanding. The choices of beer is impressive for any beer snob like myself.
I can’t really grade the place on their food since I mostly only go for drinks. The few times I have ate there I haven’t been disappointing. If you’re in the mood for a chill late night this is the place to go.

It was hard to decide what to have here, as we wanted one of everything. Settled on the Ahi tuna and the ribeye, both were cooked to order and the bacon wrapped plums were amazing. The specials were sold out by 8:15 so you might want to get here earlier. But it is also a Friday and the place appears to be a favorite of the locals and I can see why. Since we are in town for the weekend and staying close by we will be back tomorrow and try something different.

Excellent atmosphere and the food is always spot on! I ordered the bone in pork chop this time and it did not disappoint. The mashed potatoes were a perfect accompaniment. The only thing that I didn’t care for was the side of slaw — it was missing a little something. I recommend upgrading to the house salad. The service is incredible at the bar … There are plenty of TVs so you can watch your game of choice while having an excellent meal!

Friday night dinner, seated promptly ordered Paella for two Awesome cajun dish. Menu says to allow a little extra time, dish was prompt and fast as well as the service. I would return again.

Been here several times now, and try something new every time (which isn’t like me at all). Food is outstanding regardless of what you get. It’s all done perfectly to the dish you ordered. Does that make sense? I guess what I mean is, it’s not a burger joint that makes everything. It’s a restaurant that take SERIOUS pride in everything they do. So when you order a salad, it’s a GREAT salad, it’s not just a salad that is meant to be a side to something else. If you get a burger, it rivals any GREAT burger place. You order the seared tuna salad, and the tuna is PERFECT. Salmon is grilled to perfection, even their BLT is like the most amazing BLT I’ve ever had. It’s like every dish you order, you feel like what you ordered is ALL they make. Like THAT’S their specialty. It’s crazy.
Beverages are the same way. They serve a ton of stuff, and a lot from the neighboring Oso Brewery and the waitstaff knows EVERYTHING about all of it. It’s CRAZY. Bourbon, Tequila, Vodka, Beer, Wine and their cocktails, it doesn’t matter they can tell you just about anything you want to know about any of it. A friend I was with uttered something in German (not in a jerky way) and the waitress was like, «Yup, we have 3 of those would you like a sample?». Unreal.
There are pool tables and a bar area with high top tables and a more traditional seating area over looking the bar area. Anyway, I’m rambling so just go here. Seriously. go.

Great menu with a surprising number of options beyond bar food. Excellent food quality. The drink selection is strong and the atmosphere is really nice too.

This place is a must visit! 35 beers on tap… and right next to a brew house, if your looking for beer. Great music, lots of small sitting area, for groups. I was traveling for work and the hotel recommended MIKEYS. I actually ate here the night before, but could kick myself for not taking pictures of my dinner. I had ordered the Ahi Tuna… let me tell you! The steak itself was an inch & ½ thick and as big as my hand. It was served with rice and a fresh bunch of broccoli sprinkled with a parmesan cheese/​pepper! Tonight for dinner… I ordered the Shrimp ceviche app and the orange/​ginger salmon special, again served with the rice and broccoli so delicious !! If your looking for good food, this is your place!

Great food, great beer selection! Bartender was very attentive and easy to talk to. Seafood, Italian, Burgers and Wings what more could you ask for. I was not expecting this quality of fresh food when I stopped on here. The only negative was a smell. I couldn’t determine what it was. Everything appeared very clean, but it was a little musty.

I’ve been close to 10 times and haven’t been disappointed yet.
Lots of selection to choose from on the menu and the beer list is almost just as long.
I usually try to find any excuse to get over there if I am in the area.

Great atmosphere, great food, plenty of space to relax in. On the spendy side for drinks, but great service. Try the muscles in wine sauce. I didn’t even like muscles before I had them here. Really tasty!!!

Went there last night with my wife and mother. Ordered both types of salmon. The herb grilled was traditional and perfectly cooked. The honey berry sounded risky but also was delicious. The salmon itself was almost an inch thick, not the usual shingle filet you get at other restaurants.
My mother always finds something to complain about but could only find fault with the potato soup which was hot on the bottom and cold on top. Don’t know why, microwave reheat? Flavor however was superb.
The waitress may have been new, did not know if shrimp on the salad was grilled or boiled. Thankfully it was grilled.
Out of ahi on a Monday. Probably a good thing, I’m guessing they want fresh fish to be served seared to be on hand only on higher volume days.
House salad has a blue cheese on it that has a great flavor and bite.
I will be back.

Thank you Unilocal brethren. You score for me again. Coming back from the north woods. Wante stop to catch the Badgers — Buckeyes game. Found this place. Mean no disrespect, but with a name like Mikeys I did not expect what we found. Great cocktail list and of course Point and Oso beer. Pretty amazing menu reasonably priced. Having a Rosemary-​honey gin drink. Very good. Apples n mushrooms in a interesting broth with green onion and goat cheese. Very accommodating service and excellent bartenders. Looking forward to the capellini with lobster, shrimp and scallops. Great place!

We went there for Valentine’s Day and were impressed by the unique menu choices. They were out of the special holiday menu items but my husband and I were pleased with the size of the portions of our salmon and trout. The sweet potato fries were especially good! We did feel overdressed though in dress and tie. Its a pretty chill place but has a distinct atmosphere and our wait staff was friendly. Would recommend for a taste of somethig different than the standard pub fare.

We had a training event for 30 people and realized at 11:35am nobody ordered lunch. I called them in a jam because they are right down the street from our office. Sure ’nuff they can accommodate and within 30 minutes, we had a variety of 16 pizzas.
Kudos for helping me out in a pinch and they team loved the pizza.

This was my first time here and we came for lunch. I had a cup of scalloped potato ham soup and split a burger. Both were delicious and the burger was large and good for sharing for lunch. The fries are to die for. The prices are higher than normal bar food but worth it because it’s so much better. The atmosphere is really laid back and service was good.
