Handcrafted wines made right here on our estate vineyard in the beautiful Livermore Valley!
History
Established in 1887.
Originally founded by John Crellin in the early 1880s, Ruby Hill was an early tastemaker in the Livermore Valley and abroad. Several of its Livermore Valley wines were featured at the 1893 World’s Fair in Chicago and favorable reviews published in the London Journal of the Society of Arts the following year.
Fast forward 120 years and the Ruby Hill legacy endures. Over the last decade the Callahan Family has made great progress in rebuilding the historic winery and Ruby Hill has re-emerged as a winemaking leader in the region. Today there are two wineries on 150 acres of carefully farmed estate vineyard with over 15 grape varietals under vine. Ruby Hill has become a boutique label making award winning Cabernet, Chardonnay, Zinfandel, & Petite Sirah among a host of other blends.
In anticipation for Harvest 2015 and under the leadership of UC Davis educated Winemaker, Jesse Plautz, the wineries completed a brand new production facility and tank room this year!
