I highly recommend Lisa Bolar’s Roots and Wings even though in doing so I realize she will no longer be a blessed secret and inevitably not have future space for my child:(For over two years I have known Lisa as a fellow mom in weekly playdates and recently as a summer client. Amongst moms, she is admired for her steadfast calmness amidst chaos, her quick-​thinking, utmost integrity and generosity. As a client, I have been impressed by her professionalism, her genuine love of the children in her care, her high quality crafts (so many beautiful ones I have taken to displaying many on a clothes line art wall inspired by Lisa and as dining table centerpieces!) I regard Lisa as a rare «child whisperer» with children. Infinitely patient with a soothing presence and gifted in knowledge and creativity, she has an uncanny ability to connect to children of various needs and temperaments with positive guidance. My daughter blossomed this summer under her care with greater confidence in herself and improved ability to problem-​solve. As a first-​time, more holistic-​bent mom, I have been overly cautious and reluctant to use sitters and childcare. My daughter goes to one of the most nurturing and desirable parent cooperative preschools in the Bay Area. And yet, I completely trust and respect Lisa Bolar! If your child is fortunate to attend Roots and Wings, you can breathe a sigh of relief knowing your child is in a healthy, loving, stimulating environment where he or she can discover and develop in a positive, self-​affirming way.
