Pleasanton Diagnostic Imaging Center

I was called two days prior to the appointment to verify attendance and to be notified of the patient portion. Nothing new. Insurance only covers 80% so it worked out well and at a price less that I’ve paid for the same service with other providers. They accept payment at visit for a portion of the responsibility which was fantastic.
Easy to find location. Comfortable and clean waiting area and changing room. Front desk staff was respectful, friendly and knowledgeable. I merely walked up to the attendant that was free and confirmed my appointment time. She provided me with paperwork to complete and I provided the usual IDs for medical appointments.
The technician did a fantastic job at talking to me through the test so I’d know what was about to happen at each interval.
This was a nice enough experience notwithstanding the horrible sounds of the MRI itself.

They made us pay for an MRI up front on $ 900. Even though we have insurance and it was covered. The treatment was in November, insurance processed and paid in December and we still have not received our refund. We have used the facility 4 times, but are never going back. They told me it takes 3 months to process a refund Ridiculous.

Terrible customer service. Waited 20 minutes in the waiting room without being acknowledged while the 3 people behind the counter was chatting with each other.

This review is more for their billing department more than anything else. First they require you to pay up front what they THINK the insurance isn’t going to cover, then they over charge you! To make matters worse, it has been 2 months since I had the MRI done and they told me it would take another 6 – 8 weeks to process a credit. If you can, find another place to go that doesn’t require upfront payment otherwise you will be over changed and quite possibly never see your money back. 4 months to get a refund is a bunch of crap.

This place is okay. Its clean. Cash prices decent. I actually recommend this place for Ultrasound and MRI. Good parking. I think the biggest issue is when your insurance like Blue Shield has a separate bill. Then you are forced to deal with yet another firm, and this takes the simple visit to a complex visit. I do not like seeing one facility and then getting a bill from some obscure facility that I never met like «Affiliates in Imaging.» Then I start getting calls from a medical group that I do not even know, pretty much a royal pain in the… Pleasant Diagnostics is good, but they have a glitch that needs management attention. The medical practices that farm out consults are in need of management help. Ouch.

This place was going to earn a four star review from me– attentive and courteous staff, nice location, kids toys in the waiting room, punctual appointment and good ultrasound equipment. Nothing luxurious, but certainly adequate. So what happened?
Well, the major problem is that I cannot trust their reports. The medical report we received didn’t match the images on the CD they gave. The report mentioned three lumps that were large enough to need further assessment but the CD only had images of two lumps! And later when the doctor went in for the biopsies, only the two lumps were found.
The whole point of a facility like this is to take images, accurately assess them, and then pass along the reports and images to the patients’ doctors. Somewhere along the way, they failed.

had my first MRI yesterday and i am grateful for the wonderful women at pleasanton diagnostic imaging center. talk about kind, courteous, compassionate folks who care about your health and well being! it was the best experience i could have hoped for. they went out of their way to make sure i felt comfortable, was warm enough (because WOW, the rooms with the MRI machines are freezing! bundle up!), and was doing okay during the imaging. highly recommend!

I normally don’t leave comments on Unilocal,but this place is by far the best that I have ever been to, and I have to share my great experience!
It starts when I tried to schedule the appointment over phone, the lady (sorry I don’t remember her name) who helped me is very kind, patient, and helped me switch the appointment dates around to fit my working schedules.
Ms Kimberly, the Imaging Technician who did the breast ultrasound for me, was very patient, warm, professional, and she explained my situations well to me and provided very useful information for my future self examinations. As I have been nervous about this appointment and its result for weeks, it is super helpful and comforting. Ms Kimberly and Pleasanton Diagnostic Imaging center, I would like to thank you for your great service and definitely recommend you guys to people in need.

Results, Who Needs Results? Had an MRI on Monday after the ultrasound found something behind my knee. My Dr’s office called on Thursday to see if there were results. The said they would send them over on Friday. Monday afternoon they call back and the report still hasn’t been written up. They said they don’t know why it is taking so long. My PT asks about the results every visit. Not the smoothest operation and with low patient prioritization. I don’t know if I will want to trust their reading at this point. I know I would never return here. I would rather drive somewhere else more reliable.

My second time here, and I am should tell that they are the best in the area.

I needed chest X-​rays done and picked up this place. That was a great experience. The whole thing took like 20 – 25 mins. The staff is very pleasant. Affordable for those who are paying out of pocket.

I had to go in twice this week for testing and they made a scary experience a lot more manageable.
The front and back office team were very kind and helpful.
I didn’t have to wait long on either visit.
The facility appeared clean and well organized.
I really appreciated the way they followed up with me after my first test. I mentioned on my first visit that I would likely require a second test but would need insurance authorization for it. I also told them that I wanted to get everything done as quickly as possible because I’m in pain and very anxious. They took care of everything for me on their own and kept me updated at every step. Most testing facilities won’t do this! I was really impressed.

The first thing you’re greeted with is a glass wall with people behind it. They’re in the place you’d expect a receptionist, but they’re not acknowledging their paying customers.
Instead, there’s a sign with instructions-that’s your ‘greeting’:
«Write Your Name, Sit Down, We’ll Call You»
You’ve become a ‘patient’, common courtesy no longer applies… you know the score, we’ve all been there.
Hire a receptionist so you can welcome your customers-​ditch the glass wall and sign.
Once the humans do make appearances, they’re very nice.
I was impressed that my technician introduced herself by name.
This was my first MRI.
It was kind of comical.
Every once in a while the contraption would shift and noises would begin.
All kinds of noises… there’s a jackhammer, a regular hammer, plain old knocking on your front door kind of knocking, a train horn, etc.
This is the sound of advanced technology?
I started imagining… what if this MRI machine doesn’t even work.
Maybe some guy I can’t see is banging on it.
This thought would make me laugh (there wasn’t much competition in the entertainment department) which would make me move, so I’d have to stop, but then he’d start banging again…
I’d keep my eyes shut before sliding in, that way you’re unaware that you’re in an enclosed space. It doesn’t feel like you are, so if you can’t tell visually it helps.
I actually found lying still for 20 minutes restful, and would’ve dozed off if it wasn’t for that freakin’ guy.

I needed to use this facility for an MRI on my back for some herniated disks and sciatic pain. I had always heard the horror stories of claustrophobic, noisy experiences. I have to admit, after spending two weeks in severe pain, the MRI was a piece of cake. In and out, choice of music to listen to via headphones during the procedure, and I was fairly comfortable lying there. Friendly, efficient staff too. I might have even enjoyed it!

We came here for a chest x-​ray on the recommendation of my doctor and several nurses at the pediatrician’s office. I’m so glad we came! Everyone is friendly and the tech is very good with kids. There were fresh muffins and cookies in the waiting area (one per patient) but I did not sample one as I was too worried about my son. We walked-​in and wait time was less than 20 minutes; we were in and out.
My main reason for coming here was the cost. I was told by my pediatrician that the alternative (Valleycare’s Diagnostic Imaging department) charges 3 times more. I didn’t believe it but my total bill for this facility was $ 7.14. Quick, easy and affordable!

My doctor ordered a chest x-​ray to get a better look at my pneumonia infected lungs. I had two options in Pleasanton and chose this one because its close proximity to the freeway.
They operate on a walk in basis and helped me right away. The lady at the front was very helpful with my insurance concerns. I was wondering if this would be covered by my insurance because I didn’t check to see if they were a covered provider first. She entered all my insurance info and told me even if they reject it, the cash price is $ 28. I can deal with $ 28 for a chest x-​ray if the bill shows up in two months.
And I have to give props to the receptionist next to her. This guy walked in with the smallest wrist brace on. She told him to fill out the questionnaire and sign and date. He asked her to read it to him and fill it out for him because it was hard for him to write. She said «of course!» and said it with a smile. This guy’s brace would give him no problems writing. I had a bigger plaster cast in middle school and still wrote just fine.
The girl who did my chest x-​ray was great. She brought me to the changing room so I could get into the gown. She was very friendly through the whole x-​raying process. She was gentle with moving my arms in all different directions to get the right position for the shot the doctor needed. I was in and out of the x-​ray room in five minutes and 20 minutes for the whole process. Even though it’s walk in, I didn’t have to wait.
I highly recommend this facility for anyone in need of an x-​ray. The convenient location and helpful, friendly staff= five stars.

Insight imaging is a clean and friendly place. I’m not a fan of small spaces and the tech was very patient and kind and continued to talk to me and let me know what was going on. They offer you a choice of music to listen to during your MRI and have ear plugs and cover your eyes, you can even get a blanket if you are cold. The front office staff was just as kind and helpful and the yummy cookies helped.

The ladies at Insight Imaging are fabulous! The receptionist (I didn’t catch her name), was very helpful and thorough. I was scared out of my mind to have my brain examined and she was so positive and friendly. Kathy did my MRI and made me feel comfortable. She made sure my music was just what I wanted and talked to me throughout, letting me know I was doing ok and how many minutes were left. She also complemented my doctor, which made me feel better. I’m still scared, and waiting for the results, but I’m really happy that I was surrounded by such beautiful, positive ladies today :-)

I made an appointment with Insight Imaging of Pleasanton last month to get an MRI on my shoulder to determine if I had a torn rotator cuff.
The Good:
1) they got all my information over the phone and when I showed up, it was all typed up for me with just a few things to sign and fill out.
2) The lab tech was extremely pleasant. She was empathetic with the whole claustrophobic and noise effect, but we (I) had no issues and managed to stay still in that enclosed space for 25 min.
The Bad (in ascending order):
1) The receptionist was not friendly, all business. That’s a nit, since finding warm, friendly receptionists are hard to find. Maybe she was just having a bad day.
2) They told me they would send the results to my DR in 24 hours. They didn’t. Luckily they gave me a CD that I took to my dr (who is 40 minutes away) for him to view.
3) NOT ALL MRI MACHINES ARE CREATED EQUAL. I didn’t know this. They are rated in «Teslas» and my doc had a hard time reading mine. There are 2 and 3 Tesla machines out there and he thought mine must have been a half a tesla. The rotator cuff did not show up clearly in the image. He had to call them and have their report faxed over and talk to their technician on the phone to point out where he thought the tear was.
4) Bottom line: my doc won’t know the extent of my injury until he goes in surgically.
The staff can be as nice or grumpy as they want to be, but to put up with the dent in your day and the discomfort of going through a closed in MRI, you should at least have accurate results AND follow through with the ordering doctor.
Take this away from this review: ask the Tesla rating of their machine.
