I’m a long time patient of Foothill Optometric. I’ve always had a positive experience with the doctors and staff, easy scheduling and quick in and out service. They’ve always been on time and prescriptions filled in a timely manner. In fact, I just visited with Dr. Liu due to an issue I was having with one of my contacts (non-​emergency). They accommodated my request to come in prior to my annual visit and resolved the problem quickly. Although my insurance didn’t cover the visit it was nice to receive a discounted rate.

These folks are eager to serve. They are fun and knowledgeable. Had a very good experience yesterday. Check them out.

This was such an awesome experience. Please forgive me, but I don’t remember our optometrist’s name. He was so great, informative, and patient with us, even really funny! They even let my husband come in the room, and they were fine with it all. Everyone that helped us was so nice and professional. I was dilated for the first time ever, and they helped me pick out my new frames. I would and already have recommended them to several people. Thank you all for our first great experience getting our eyes checked. We would never go anywhere else!

Always a pleasant experience at Foothill Optometric Group. All the doctors are amazing, great selection and service… would highly recommend to anyone looking for eye care and eye wear.

Wait…I had to take one star for the month it took to get my glasses repaired (I was told three to five days).
Oh…and minus another star for the month it’s taking to get my contacts. I was told it would take about a week… LAST month. Still waiting.
The office is awesome and they do great work but there’s obviously some type of clerical issues that need to be worked out.

I love the way the office staff takes their time and really helps you choose the best glasses that compliments your face. They have a really great selection of frames to choose from. I would highly recommend this practice.

I love this place! I have been coming here for 3 years. I see Dr. Andrew Yang once a year and he has a great memory because he remembers what we chatted about last year! I really like that they show how they care by remembering little things like that! Everyone else hat works there always has a smile and is very friendly. They have a great selection of glasses and a computer system to take your picture in the glasses so you can compare glasses without trying them repeatedly. Also, I’ve never had to wait for my appointment! They never run late, even on their busy days on the weekend!

I received my glasses today, a week ahead of schedule and they are great. Thanks again, FOG!

I have been going to Dr. Staples at Foothill for more than 10 years now. Always pleased with my experience. Very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Very efficient front office and back office. Convenient office hours. Accept VSP insurance. My whole family goes there now.

UPDATE: Stacy completely made up for the mess up on last visit. I will keep coming to them as I have for the last 8 years. Thank you for owning up and making it right. In fact, over and above making it right.
Usually a good experience but not so this year. Glass prescription was not correct. Had to wait several weeks to get new lens in. Had appt but when got here they had double booked the guy that changes lenses. He was in a meeting. WHAT? Paid big bucks for glasses not done right and he stays in a meeting instead of servicing customer? Major inconvenience. Will be changing from Foothill Optometric once I get this error fixed.

Thorough visual examination and tests, professionally delivered, with clear explanations and friendly staff, followed by the same excellence in selecting and acquiring glasses. Highly recommended.

Outstanding service and great selection of frames. Came here both on a busy Saturday and on a weekday. The office was well staffed and practically no wait time on both days. There was always someone to help or the staff was courteous to call on another person to help. I was pleasantly surprised for having no appointment on a Saturday, how prompt someone was able to check my insurance and help me frames. The people here are authentically friendly, personable and knowledgeable. Dr. Yang did my exam. He, too, was nice and took the time to answer the questions I had.

I walked in to check out frames. There was one customer In there and three women at the counter. The whole time I was there no one greeted me, asked me if I needed help or said bye when I left! !! Seriosuly? !!! I work right across the way from this place, convenient or not, I will never give them my business. Back to my inconvenient eye doctor for that mere experience.
And to the Asian dude that was in there… you are rude and oblivious. Do I really have to tell you excuse me to get out of my way you dumb ass???

I had a wonderful experience here. The friendly, knowledgeable staff took great care of me. I am very satisfied and will certainly be returning in the future.

Been going here for about two years now and I think I’ll keep doing that because of the service. Key things I liked are friendliness of the entire staff A-​Z, knowledge of doctors and their effort to answer your questions thoroughly. ⁵⁄₅ for the standard they have maintained so far.

My mother and I have gone to Dr. Staples for years and I just love her! She’s very sweet and personable and she knows what she’s doing and takes her time with each patient.
I’ve never met Dr. Yang but his wife was my science teacher in middle school… random, my bad.
It can take a while for some orders to come in, but that’s not their fault. They’re very good about contacting you when orders are in and things.

Dr Liu was friendly and made me feel comfortable. My whole family goes here and my kids feel comfortable here. They explain things well and don’t push me to get the most expensive things and listen to what I say and need.
So glad I found my forever optometry group!

Dr. Staples is very complete in her exam and takes the time to explain and answer any questions. She puts you at ease with her warm personality.
The staff is excellent and takes the time review, research and explain the type of insurance you have and what it covers.

My husband and I have been patients for years… even at the old location… and we absolutely love them! Dr. Longacre is so amazing. She’s warm, personable, and super thorough. She clearly and concisely explains every procedure as she does it. She doesn’t make suggestions or push extra tests to jack up the price of your visit; she really cares about the health of your eyes and on developing a long-​term eye-​care relationship with her patients. I especially love the fact that they hook you up w/​free disposable contacts until your order comes in — which you can either pick up or have delivered to your front door. Very awesome & convenient. They also have a great frame selection (Jimmy Choo doesn’t just make shoes).
This husband and wife optometrist duo truly run their business with excellent professionalism & great integrity. Their technicians and other staff reflect the awesome management. I had an old pair of Dior frames that my daughter broke and I called to see if they’d be able to repair them. I dropped them off an they tried and & even contacted a specialized vendor to give me repair options. When it was all said and done, they didn’t charge for the time & hassle. Great service!

I was dissatisfied with the last place I had my eye exam at, and now needed some new glasses. I had just got started researching out a new spot, when one of my Unilocal friends checked into the Foothill Optometric Group.
Curious, I got in touch with him, and it turned out he is a long time customer, and had high praises for them. That was good enough for me, so I mused over their web page, and booked an appointment with Dr. Sjodahl. I received an email confirmation the next day, downloaded the new patient form from the link they provided, and was set.
Their office was easy to find, right off of the I-​580 /​I-​680 junction. The waiting area was upbeat; comfortable chairs, lots of magazines and even a Bible to read. Near the entrance was a large screen television that was being used to simulate an aquarium.
I signed in at the front desk, and turned in my new patient form. I had previously emailed in a copy of my insurance card, so that was already on file. Signed some other forms, and opted in for the optional Optomap Retinal Exam. They took my glasses to find out what my current prescription was.
After about fifteen minutes I was called to have some preliminary vision checks done, then was led into one of the exam rooms. Dr. Sjodahl entered about five minutes later. He was very pleasant, and we chatted about leisure pursuits in addition to my vision and health history.
During the exam, two different types of drops were administered into my eyes. The first drops didn’t affect my vision, but the second dilated my eyes. I asked, since I had the Optomap, why I would need the dilatation. Dr. Sjodahl said so he could see more of the eye that way. They thoughtfully dimmed the lights after the dilatation, provided a dark insert for my glasses, and offered a bottle of water to drink. My vision had changed slightly in both eyes, so I received a new prescription.
Next I went to view their collection of frames. I was looking for something similar to what I was currently wearing. Samantha, one of the assistants in that department found something I liked, and confirmed availability. She took measurements, went through the options on the lenses, and placed the order. I paid my share after insurance.
In a little more than a week I received an email that my glasses were ready. Came by and signed in. Elizabeth was the one who made the final adjustments on my new glasses to ensure perfection. They also included a small adjustment screwdriver with the cleaning solution kit.
Foothill Optometric Group is worth the drive from anywhere in the Bay Area for your eye care.
