Earthly Delights

Update 1÷22÷16: Now that I have been using the service for a couple of weeks, I can report that all of the meals have so far been very good to excellent. I was initially skeptical about heat and eat meals especially about how cooked vegetablesn would turn out. The answer is good. While I haven’t finished all of the most recent delivery of meals, I have found that the variety of the main dishes is very good as is the overall preparation. The portions are generous.
I can wholeheartedly recommend this service. If your inquiries aren’t answered immediately, hang in there and you will get a response.

Earthly Delights is a life save! Hubby and I maintain a very busy executive lifestyle and we just don’t have the time to cook healthy meals everyday so we end up eating out a LOT, which hurts our pockets and our waistline. We’ve been looking for a company like this for a very long time and when we ran across Earthly Delights we jumped on it!
We don’t have children yet so it’s just the two of us. We order the Lunch/​Dunner option for both of us 5 days a week for $ 216/​wk which isn’t bad! That comes out to about $ 10.80 per meal per person. That’s less than some fast food places and definitely less than eating out! All we buy at the grocery store now are fruit and snacks for breakfast and to keep us going throughout the day.
The meals are very healthy and yummy, and they give really good portion sizes. I LOVE to eat and I’ve always been concerned that these meal prep services would give us tiny portions and keep me hungry, but I haven’t found that with this company. We’ve been with them for 5 weeks now and I have no complaints. I am FINALLY eating my veggies regularly! And they don’t repeat meals over and over– great variety in meals.
Hubby is somewhat of a picky eater and the owner (Win) even specializes hubby’s meals with no dairy and no nuts. We don’t choose our meals off of a menu or anything. We kinda just get what they give us, and opening the cooler of food is kinda like mom packed us a bag of goodies that we get to open up and eat week after week. But we like that! And they are very welcome to ideas or suggestions of meals we’d like them to prepare.

(Oh, and about the communication thing. I have not had any problem with communication. My emails are returned within 24 hrs, sometimes the same day, and when I leave a voicemail, I get a call back within 24 hrs too…)

I have never been compelled to write a bad Unilocal review until now. I wanted to like this business so much. Found them online after searching for a meal plan that would kickstart some healthier habits. The food reviews were great, but everyone mentioned how hard it was to get a hold of anyone there. I should’ve listened, and you should too.
After a few unanswered calls and messages with questions, I decided to just go ahead and place an order online. When it came to check out with my credit card, the site kept saying «the transaction cannot be processed.» Hmm. Checked my balance, that wasn’t the issue. I called and left a message, and emailed as well this time. A few days later figured out that you can order with a «Pay by check option.» Despite never requesting my check info, the order was processed and I received an automated email confirming that the order was processed and giving me a plethora of dates/​times to pick up my meals. Great! Nope!
In that email it listed Thursdays from 4−9pm as a pick up time. Again, I called to confirm. No answer, left a message. Showed up at 5, it looks like it’s closed and under construction. I finally knock on a door where I see lights on inside, and a very nice lady (turns out she’s a manicurist renting space from them) comes out. She didn’t know where the guy went, but she texted and called his cell, to no avail. The whole time she’s super nice, telling me how good their food and gym is. Too bad their own staff is MIA. I waited for 30 minutes, then finally left a note with her and left. I also called *again* and left a message. This was 2 days ago.
Guess how many calls back or email responses I have received from them? ZERO. I made a huge effort to give them my business. I’ve worked in customer service, I know it’s hard. But this is completely unacceptable, and I’m honestly surprised they have any business at all.

This is a review for the meal subscription service. The food is healthy and fresh, and always tastes delicious. This is the perfect service for me and my husband. Cheaper than hiring a chef! We wanted calorie conscious food to help us get back on track with our eating after a difficult year full of health challenges. This couldn’t be easier, we just drop by and pick up food twice a week and all our lunches and dinners are all ready for us. I do have to say they aren’t terribly responsive to emails (in fact, they never responded to my emails) but I got notification my order went through and an email telling me when and where to pick up. I also called once and left a message and never got a call back. I’d be more miffed, but the food is so great, and it’s such a life saver for me, that I’m really pleased overall!

Finally found what I’ve been looking for! I started going to the Zumba and UJam classes offered at Earthly Delights. The location is somewhat hidden, but that works out well. They are all about health and fitness and they show it. Elena’s Zumba class is great. She choreographs most of her routines and always makes it so much fun. I’ve gone to UJam classes on Sundays… another awesome class that really gets you moving and provides a great workout. I’ve enjoyed it all so much that I’m trying to go more than 4x/​week.
They have something for all ages. They even have a fit class for kids on Fridays. They also have a Summer Program that I’m considering enrolling my kids in. I highly recommend this place.

They don’t respond to things on their website or email very quickly. Call or better yet talk to them in person.
Not cheap.

There are very few ways to get a one-​star rating from me, but absolute non-​responsiveness is one of them. I sent two E-​mails and phoned this business twice, very excited about trying their service. None of my inquiries were ever answered. Such an experience doesn’t exactly inspire my confidence in a business. Maybe a bad Unilocal will encourage them to not lose the next order the way they lost mine.

Excellent food! My wife and I both work so we don’t get to cook as many fresh meals as we would like. We discovered Earthly Delights recently and after trying a couple of their meals, we are hooked. It’s fresh and very tasty. We will have lunch and dinner delivered by them for 5 days /​week.

Earthly Delights is a much better alternative to weight loss meal companies like Jenny Craig or Nutrisystem for about the same price. Their meals are cooked fresh and delivered twice a week and are healthy with lots of fresh (organic?) veggies and tasty items. Very good for busy professionals who want to eat healthy but don’t have time to cook. I lost my winter weight in the first month!
