We had a horrible experience working with Bryce for our 2010 taxes. Never again. Not only did he fail to file our returns on time, he actually NEVER filed them — not even file them late, simply never did. And what is worse, he stopped responding to emails and phone calls.
Thank the lord for Keith, who was courteous enough to pick up the paperwork, gave us a $ 250 discount and filed our taxes.
We never went back to this company. I have filed all my taxes since — including the purchase/​sale of several homes, starting/​selling off businesses, including complex transactional tax situations such as securities trading. The most important lesson I learnt was that I could never rely on someone else for my financial paperwork.

My whole family uses Despain Tax services and have been using them for over 20 years. They have always been very efficient and answers all my questions. Clark is who I usually work with and he is very knowledgeable and professional. Their rates are very reasonable and I have never had any issues getting a hold of anyone in the office so I’m surprised to read the complaints. I highly recommend them!

one time our tenant reported our rent as wages, IRS called us and Clark Despain fixed it without charging us. I appreciate his work, him and his two educated son who joined in his office helping lots of people at very minimum price.

My family and I have been using Despain Tax services for over 6 years now for both our personal and business accounting services. Having used multiple other accountants before, I have developed a pretty good sense regarding when an accountant knows what they’re doing and vice versa. This family run operation definitely knows what they are doing. I’ve been continually impressed with not only their knowledge and expertise but most importantly their service. They have helped me out repeatedly on tight deadlines whether it’s filing simple monthly returns, or advising me on key issues such as capital investments etc. I would definitely recommended these guys to all my family and friends, as they were recommended to me.

I started working with Bryce in 2010 and he was great in the very beginning. Once I was audited by the IRS, it all went downhill and he did not do anything. He ignored my calls and emails and now that I have had to retain a new tax accountant, I learned he made other mistakes and told me a few things that were not true. I am now having to amend 3 years worth of returns and am waiting for my refunds. Do not waste your time and money with these guys… Bryce has made things worse for me, not better! I should have found a new tax person years ago!

Great business and would highly recommend to anyone! They always get us the best return and work a lot harder than the big places where you never know who you will get. Clark is very knowledgeable and knows everything there is to know about taxes. We have been using them for over 5 years and will never go anywhere else.

Don’t go here! It started off nice with an hour long meeting with Bryce. I gave him my W-2’s, and he gave new a list of items to being back. That’s the last time I ever heard from him. I’ve called 10+ times. The receptionist is the gate keeper (when they answer), and says he’ll call back… All I want is my W-2’s so I can have someone else do it.

A mixed review. Our experience with Despain Tax started out well last year. It’s a family-​run business, and our first experience was with Bryce Despain, who was initially very responsive, thorough, and easy to get in touch with via email. He spent a lot of time going over our taxes with us for 2009, explaining how we could pay less in taxes in 2010, and also giving us other financial advice which was very helpful.
In 2010, however, everything changed. After an initial appointment to go over our taxes, Bryce became un-​reachable. When promising to get to our taxes within days, we saw nothing for weeks until we called a couple of times and spoke with Bryce’s brother Keith. And then our taxes were done completely incorrectly!!! When we called to get this corrected, they still not did respond when they said they did. Needless to say, we will not be going back to them in 2011.
