We are an inclusive Reform synagogue with an open and participatory atmosphere. We welcome all people on their Jewish journey. Come check us out!

Shabbat services are Friday at 8:00 pm (7:30 pm on the 3rd Friday of each month) and Saturday morning at 10:30 am.

History

Established in 1956.

Congregation Beth Emek is proud to be the Center for Jewish learning, prayer, and community in the Tri-​Valley, The congregation was founded in Livermore in 1956 as the Livermore Valley Jewish Community Center. We moved to our current location in Pleasanton in 2004. Rabbi Laurence Elis Milder joined the congregation in July 2013.

I was in the process of a move and I wanted to connect to a Synagogue that met my needs socially and religiously. The members of Beth Emek contacted me right away and signed me up for the newsletter, as well as personal invitations and generous outreach weekly.
They made me feel welcome even before they met me or I them.
I will be meeting them in person soon. My address is given as Santa Rosa, but I am living here in San Ramon now.

CBE is a wonderful Reform synagogue. We moved to the area five years ago and left a (large) temple in our old ‘hood. Beth Emek was just what our family needed — a smaller temple with a vibrant Jewish community. Unfortunately, there was some political posturing that sent our favorite rabbi moving to another temple out of the area. Luckily, things have since stabilized and the new rabbi seems to be a very nice man who is extremely competent and will do an excellent job leading CBE into the future. FIVE stars…(I wonder if G-​d will read this?! I suppose…)

A wonderful place… filled with wonderful people, Beth Emek has become a true center point for our family and community. From pre-​school days, to the teen programs, to the wonderful events we share with our friends, our family has built some pretty amazing memories here. Rabbi Katz continues to inspire us with his thought provoking wisdom. Beth Emek is a nice place to spend a Friday evening. :)

We just moved to the area and attended the Shabbot under the Stars. The congregation is very outgoing. Several people came up to us to make conversation. One member found another member that happened to live near us and helped us connect.
Also, I am considering sending my daughter to the Religious /​Hebrew school and the person I spoke to was so flexible. My daughter has not had Hebrew before and the person I spoke to gave me multiple options that I could choose to get her caught up. She also told me I could sit in on the classes and check them out before I made my final decision.
