History
Established in 1970.
Barber Dan’s started out as Ben and Bills Barber Shop where Ben and (you guessed it) Bill would provide traditional barber services at reasonable prices. Ben and Bill eventually decided it was time to move on from the barber biz and sold the business to Dan Pell in 2009. This is when Ben and Bills became Barber Dans, the Gentleman’s Classic Barber Shop. Barber Dan has regulars come from San Ramon, Dublin, Livermore, Castro Valley, Danville and even Walnut Creek to experience the traditional Barber Shop atmosphere.
Meet the Business Owner
Dan P.
Business Owner
Barber Dan’s is owned by Dan Pell who entered the barber profession at the tender age of 17 back in 1968. He had graduated high school mid-term and knew his next step: barber school. There he learned the art and traditions of barbering and has worked as a barber ever since.
From 1968 through 1994, he worked and raised his family in Sacramento where he grew up in a large family with six kids. In 1994, he left his home town for San Diego, California where he bought a barber shop and worked in the area for four years. During that time, he represented Nexxus hair care products and performed platform work at hair shows.
Dan spent another year in England followed by a two-year stint in Pleasanton. Soon, the lovely state of Hawaii captured his imagination and he set sail for a one-and-a-half year adventure working as a barber and enjoying the island’s delights. Despite his love for the island he soon returned to the Golden State and to the charming community of Pleasanton California.
