I’m surprised to see around the internet that dr. Apte has any negative reviews. He has been nothing but wonderful, and the best doctor I’ve had in a long time. I started at valley care with dr. Sandru, and she was terrible. I was referred to dr. Apte by my surgeon, and couldn’t be happier. He is never rushed and spends time listening to my concerns, he seems to be genuinely concerned with his patients’ health, and has been nothing but helpful. I guess it depends what you value in a doctor, and I value a doctor who listens, follows up with test results, and cares. Dr. Apte is just that. The only negative experience I’ve had is with his office staff, they can be hit-and-miss. Some of them don’t seem to have any training with computers, but that’s more for the practice.

Dr. Apte is a family/general practitioner and practices as part of Valley Medical in Pleasanton, CA. I went to Dr. Apte primarily for low back pain following a trip to Japan. Six months prior to that, I damaged my back while dragging a heavy object. After discussing the various other symptoms(diarrhea, coldness, muscle spasms in legs and back, headache, anger, night sweats, bloating and lethargy most notably), Dr. Apte recommended anti-depressants. He focused on a single, tangential and least informative symptom. He did not refer me to a back specialist. On my own, I made an appointment with a back specialist at Webster Orthopedic and had an MRI following a CT. A bulging disc and some minor spinal disease was revealed as the main cause of my back pain. I obtained a prescription for a mild muscle relaxant, physical therapy, massage, acupuncture and now feel a million times better– in spite of Dr. Apte’s ridiculous recommendations. Dr. Apte seemed very sleepy, talkative and uninterested in helping me to troubleshoot the nature of my problems. Perhaps he will improve the quality of his service. In the meantime, I cannot recommend Dr. Apte.
