Amigos Spanish Immersion Programs

Our daughter Andrea has been attending Amigos Preschool for the last two years. She is thriving in an environment that understands her reserved personality and works ardently to bring her out her natural talents. We have seen an amazing transformation in our once very shy girl. She is confident and loves going to school and making new friends. Rocio and her staff are always very attentive and quick to respond to our concerns whenever they arise. I cannot imagine a better place for our daughter and I am very thankful that we have the opportunity to have a place in this preschool. We highly recommend Amigos and Rocio to all our friends and community.

We LOVE this preschool! Our 2 oldest children are in dual immersion schools, but when they were in preschool I couldn’t find a dual immersion preschool in my area, so they had a slow and frustrating start in school. When it was time for my 3^rd daughter to start preschool I searched far and wide for a spanish immersion preschool to help make the transition to kinder easier. Amigos preschool has a great spanish program, and kinder readiness academics built in. She started writing her name, and saying letters and numbers in spanish within a couple of weeks. But the school is small and warm, for my Very shy little girl. When we get to school in the morning, everyone stops and comes to greet her, commenting on the small details like her favorite Frozen shirt or her hair bow, so she is engaged with the group the minute she walks in the door. Maestra Rocio seems to know exactly when to turn up the expectations, and add in new academic challenges. Maestra Rocio even helped with our extended potty training by having clear expectations during school, after her first week of preschool, our year long potty training struggle was completely over. The transition times are easy, the communication is consistent, reasonably priced (it really is priceless), pictures of her pop up on my phone throughout the day, and on preschool days my daughter just seems happier and calmer. It is everything I had ever wanted in a preschool experience for my children. As an added bonus, dual immersion education is one of the only ways to actually raise a child’s IQ, and a huge advantage when she finally enters the workforce. Amigos is the perfect place to learn and play.

If there were 6 stars I would select it. Maestra Rocio is a god send. I happened to find Amigos on Unilocal and was not planning on sending my daughter to a Spanish immersion preschool/​daycare. I speak very limited Spanish from taking a few years back in high school. The program is home based, clean/​organized and WAY better than any other fancy high priced schools in the area. (And I sent my son to one of those so called best of the best programs in Pleasanton that cost a fortune when he was in preschool… and I’ve toured just about all of them!) My daughter came to Amigos from what I would describe as «eyes on your kid» daycare. Nice people but never felt like she was being stimulated. She started 8 months ago at Amigos at just about 2.5 years old as more of a «pre-​school» prep. I also arranged for an after school daycare program since I work full time. Maestra Rocio truly loves what she does and it shows. She is constantly investing in resources to keep the kids engaged and goes about teaching Spanish in a fun play based manner. My daughter is always singing Spanish songs and I can already hear the Spanish language coming out in conversation. There is structure to the program and they are always doing fun sensory activities, art, dress up, field trips to local parks, etc… Maestra Rocio sends out monthly newsletters with what’s going on, themes they are focusing on and she even emails/​texts me pictures of my daughter having fun throughout the day… which is the highlight of my day! So thankful my daughter is loved and cared for in my absence! And learning a second language is an added perk that will surely advance my daughter’s development in the important first 5 years of life.

My husband and I only speak English. Our son (kindergartner at the time) was accepted into the Dual Immersion program 4 months after school started. Therefore he was way behind his class. He would come home and say how he didn’t understand what the teacher was saying. He would complain about not feeling well on school days and would literally fall asleep in class. We needed to find him help… and fast. We asked his teacher for a tutor recommendation and parents in the class. Rocio from Amigos was recommended by multiple people. Her home is located close to the school. She would pick him up from school and teach him for several more hours. We saw the difference in our son. Not only was he doing better in school (we were debating about holding him back a year, but decided not to with Rocio’s guidance), but he was also more enthusiastic about going to school. Over the summer, we enrolled our son in Rocio’s program so he would not lose all that he learned. The transition into 1^st grade was incredibly smooth. The first week of school our son said, «First grade is much easier than kindergarten.» Hands down, it is the tools he learned through Rocio that made that happen. She also gave my husband and I tools to use at home to help our son. I cannot say enough great things about Amigos. I have recommended her program to every parent I meet with a child who is struggling or just needs extra help. Without her, our son would be repeating kindergarten this year.

Can’t say enough great things about Amigos! Two of our children have gone here for pre-​school (one still currently attending) and they LOVE it, and so do we as parents. Our son graduated and moved on to Kindergarten, and he’s so far ahead of the other kids in his Kindergarten class it’s not even funny. Miss Rocio has an excellent curriculum that mixes learning, fun, games, art, music, and more. She’s extremely patient and the kids love her.
We have a bilingual home and are raising our kids to speak both Spanish and English. But aside from the Spanish instruction, the kids learn so much. As I mentioned, our son was extremely prepared for kindergarten thanks to Amigos. Our son still misses going to Amigos.
We have 3^rd child who will be going to Amigos for sure when she’s old enough. Can’t wait!
