I can’t brag enough about how wonderful Dr. George AND Dr. Lisa are. You not only feel like family but you also feel like you’re the only patient that day. I had the pleasure of massage therapy with Chris today, and let me tell you, even though this was his first day, he was AWESOME!!!

Had my first appointment here on Wednesday and did not have anything negative to comment about. I am not sure about the previous review on here complaining about the wait times and treatments. This place is pretty cool. It skips all the corny, wannabe fancy typical doctor’s office décor and I was not bombarded by annoying products for sale by some nutrition/​weight loss club. There are enough chairs and even some toys and books to occupy your little one.
Towards the back they have an acupuncture and massage therapy room. The chiro rooms are open with just walks to divide. Contrary to someone complaining about that, I actually felt safe that way as a female and yet had enough privacy for my treatment. They play cool tunes in here like Eric Clapton and Patsy Cline :) it gave me a wholesome alternative feel to this place. Down-​to-​earth, good karma, zen and wellness vibe!
On that note, I saw Dr. Lisa who was caring and attentive to my muscular concerns. She listened to my history of treatments and was able to identify my troubling areas. After a brief orientation by the front receptionist (who was prompt and a great multi-​tasker) and initial paperwork, I didn’t have to wait long. They have an iPad checkin program to mark your trouble spots and frequency of pain. I was seen immediately when I was ready. They didn’t rush me either considering I was five minutes late and on arrival I had to change my daughter’s diaper. The only time I did wait was in the exam room for just a minute while Dr. Lisa finished up on a patient. I was given a medium pressure massage, some STEM with warm compress, and then an adjustment. I was also educated and instructed on fish oil supplements, stretching, and moderate exercise. I felt great after my visit and will be making future appointments. I hope things continue to stay great. Will update.

I am 5 months pregnant and was in need of a chiropractor. I saw George the first time as Lisa was not working that day. He was great, helped me with my horrible back pain. I then went back to see Lisa and you could tell she really cares about pregnant women. She stretched me, gave me fish oil pills to try and I have follow ups with her. Great place and service. The massage before you meet with the chiropractor is also great!

Dr Lisa is amazing! She helped me with pain problems when I was pregnant and post pregnancy. She really cares about the patients and is personal and friendly. If my insurance was better I would see her more often! I was first scared to go because I had a traumatizing experience with a Chicopractor before but she is nothing like what I had encountered. They even give you a massage before she sees you!

George and Lisa are awesome!!! I am former professional bull rider. I have had numerous injuries to my lower back and hip area, from a 10 year rodeo career. Over the last 17 years, when I had back pain they did a great job adjusting my back, so I could continue to do my work as a flooring contractor. When I don’t work I don’t make money!!! I will always recommend Dr George and Dr Lisa !!!

Dr. Lisa looked after me when I was pregnant and I will be forever grateful. She has years of experience treating pregnant women but doesn’t market this as much as she should. She has a treatment table with a hole in it and was able to treat me so that I could feel great during my pregnancy. In my last three weeks I got sciatica but again, I was able to get relief due to Dr. Lisa and staff without taking drugs. The staff is incredible, professional and helpful. Cindy is their massage therapist and is also outstanding. Dr. George has also treated me and he is personable, funny and also does a great job treating patients. I recommend this practice highly.

I have been going to Amador Chiro for years. Lisa was helpful in keepng me flexible and ready for the birth of my twins. For the last 10 years have been with George. This place is like no other. I have moved jobs so Pleasanton is not the easiest to get to but it is worth the drive. They put hot compress on back to relax your muscles and then have a massage therapist come in for about 10 minutes to further relax you. Then the adjustment includes strecting. I have tried to find another place near me in Walnut Creek, but all others just go in for the kill. Love this place and can’t wait to see them today!

This is hands-​down the best chiropractic option in the area. The doctors, staff and massage therapists are all first-​rate. Dr. Lisa is a true healer who cares about her patients — she even helped our daughter through an ear infection. I myself have suffered from back problems on and off which Dr. Lisa and her team always help me with. If you need chiropractic help, massage therapy or just a relaxing massage or nutrition counseling, AVC is a great choice.

I have had different kinds of physical pains such as severe headaches, sciatic nerve pains in my leg, lower back pain, ankles, wrists, neck, upper back… All because of the type of work I have sitting in front of a computer all day and no matter how many doctors I went to at various points they all would say the same thing, nothing is wrong and prescribe painkillers which I refuse to take. I met Dr. Danielle at the health fair we had at work and learned a little about what chiropractors do and finally decided to give chiropractic work a try. She is absolutely amazing! I have been seeing her for a couple of months now and don’t feel any of the pains I had before. While she is working on me she explains every thing in common terms so I learn and am more conscious about taking breaks during the day at my desk and she gives different small exercises to do while sitting at my desk for five minutes. The staff at the Amador Valley Chiropractic Group are so friendly and helpful and highly professional. If you are looking for a professional yet affordable massage as well definitely see Cindy. I highly recommend AVCC and particularly Dr. Danielle to anyone! You will be in great hands.

I have been chronically ill for over 5 years. I have seen countless doctors who have wanted to merely prescribe me hard core prescription medication and not help me find the root cause of my illness.
Dr. Lisa has continually cared for me in a way that no other doctor has. She has gone above and beyond in helping me to heal and not just treat my symptoms. She has researched alternative and holistic approaches and has helped me start to get well… finally!!! Thank you Dr. Lisa for your diligence in helping me to be well! I highly recommend Dr. Lisa and her caring staff.

I can’t say enough about Dr. Lisa! I have seen her for years for my chronic scoliosis. I love the massage beforehand and the heat therapy afterwards, it always help me relax. Then Dr. Lisa comes in and well it is fantastic! She knows exactly what my chiropractic issues are! Then she asks me if I have any other health issues. If so, she always has a suggestion, be it, having me ask my medical Dr. to run certain tests, to supplements to take, to overall general health care! I always leave there feeling physically and mentally better. Dr. Lisa is one of the kindest and most intelligent women I have had the privilege to meet! I recommend Dr. Lisa to all of my friends! She is the BEST!

I do not believe strongly in chiropractic; several months ago I was in extreme pain and could not lift one of my arms above my head (eg, to close the hatch on the car) without intense pain that drove me to tears and I do not cry. My contractor recommended George Kirk and so I went. Heat, stimulation, massage… all done prior to adjustment. That combination worked and I’m not kidding when I say I started and continued feeling better.
It’s been a few months and now I’m finding myself with lower back pain and neck stiffness (ahhh, the fun of aging). I’m going back in with full confidence I will get relief.
This is a fine office and I never felt like I was being «sold» or over-​treated. Dr. George Kirk is passionate about taking care of patients, and that says a lot these days

I have been coming to Dr. Lisa since a work related car accident 7 and a half years ago. She is amazing! A monthly visit to her is the only thing that keeps me able to continue working at times. I also recently told her about a myriad of other symptoms completely unrelated to chiropractic care. She told me what she thought it was, and gave me a list of tests to ask my primary care Dr to perform. I did, My Dr ordered the tests and Dr Lisa was right! She is an incredible lady with a wealth of knowledge and information. Also, the most I have ever waited was 15 min and if that happens then I know it’s because she is helping her other patients as she does me. My muscle work has always been good and I love relaxing with the hot pads on l am always too busy to just chill.

Dr. George is the BEST! I’ve been coming to see him for about 3 years now and can honestly say he is a miracle worker. I get pinched nerves in my back about twice a year and after Dr. George adjusts me, I am completely pain-​free by the next day. Recently, I woke up with a stiff neck and was in excruciating pain by the end of the day. I saw Dr. George the next morning and after a massage, heat, ultrasound, and an adjustment, I was no longer in pain. Truly amazing.
Also, I’ve had to wait only once for an excessive amount of time before being seen. I actually ended up leaving because I couldn’t wait any longer. I started feeling better so I didn’t reschedule. When I had to return several months later for another pinched nerve, the receptionist said their would be no charge for this visit since I had paid for the previous visit but wasn’t seen. I had forgotten about my previous visit and was really impressed with how the office had compensated me for this inconvenience.

There is a filtered review by Abatesh a. that describes my experience, except I was so desperate for help that I gave them two tries instead of just one.
Wanting to find someone closer to home than my prior chiropractor, I scheduled my appt with Dr. Lisa Kirk based on all of the raving Unilocal reviews. This was a HUGE mistake — I should have trusted Abatesh’s review. I left my last appointment in shock and dismay over the care I’d received.
I arrived to the appointment on time. The receptionist said «have a seat, I’ll bring you right back» — this is strike one as it was 20 minutes before she brought me back. Upfront honesty and communication on the delay would have been much preferred to the unexplained waiting.
I can’t even say I was taken into a room… it’s more like a space. They have one big room separate by walls. There are no doors and the ceiling is far above the height of the walls, so it feels quite open and you can hear every conversation going on in this confined space.
I was greeted by a «massage therapist». I was given about a 5-​minute massage that I can only describe as inadequate (strike 2). The massage therapist person then put hot packs on my back and left my face down on an uncomfortable table.
I was left to wait… and wait… and wait… and wait…
I kept trying to tell myself to take this time as relax time, but the extended wait just made me more anxious as I had taken time out of my very busy work day to go to this appointment.
1 hour and 9 minutes after I arrived in the office, Dr. Lisa comes running back to my «space». There was a brief apology and she asked how I was doing since my last visit, which was no better than before my prior visit.
She then spent about 5 minutes gently cracking a few places on my body. She had trouble cracking my neck, which is why I was really there. She just couldn’t get it done. She tried 4 or 5 times and then said «OK, you’re done».
I asked if the wait was typical and she had a half answer indicating that yes, it could be this bad depending on the day. I would love for doctors to treat their patients with respect and stop overbooking. An hour long wait is simply unacceptable.
If she had done a decent job with me, I might have felt that the 1 hour and 9 minute wait was worth it, but it was HORRIBLE. I left the appointment so upset over the waste of time and lack of care, I had to walk around the block just to shake it off. I was LIVID.
Dr. Lisa is VERY nice and personable. She is knowledgeable on healthy diet, but the chiropractic care I received was just bad.
I was able to get an appointment with my old chiropractor (Dr. Johnson in Danville) and I cannot believe I wasted the time with anyone else. He is AMAZING! If you want to get healed, skip going to Dr. Lisa and spend your time and money on Johnson. You will not be disappointed. The stark contrast between the level of care I received between these two chiropractors has motivated me to write this review. I hope others can benefit from my bad experience.

Dr. Lisa Kirk helped me to heal, several years back, without the dreaded ‘neck crack’ I had experienced at other offices. She is kind, gentle, caring and truly concerned about her patients. Her nurturing demeanor can calm even the most distressed patient. Prior to each session I received a massage — definitely an added bonus! I would highly recommend AV Chiropractic.

I have been having heel pain for the past year and I was misdiagnosed with plantar fasciitis by my podiatrist. After someone suggested a chiropractor, I visited Doctor Kirk yesterday and after an amazing calf massage, a few adjustment here and there, I woke up today for the first time without any heel pain. I am sold and am so grateful to he and his staff for making me feel like a new person! You can bet I’ll be visiting regulary. Thank you so much!

I had my very first chiropractor appointment with Dr. George Kirk. I came in with lower back stiffness with no hints of nerve damage. He had me touch my toes and bend from side to side… then started started the cracking. I felt fine for the first couple hours following my visit. Then by back seized.
I ended up spending 3 days lying on me back, unable to do much else. I went back in to see another chiropractor there on day 4. She told me I likely had a pinched sciatic nerve and the only cure was rest and lots of it.
I visited my primary care Dr. a couple days later. She confirmed the pinched sciatic nerve diagnosis and told me it would be at least 4 weeks of rest before I would be healed. She then referred me to a physical therapist.
It has now been 2 months since I was initially injured… It’s still injured. Dr. George did give me back the money I paid for the 2 sessions. But nothing for the now 2 months of pain and inability to do the things I love. I’m only 30, before my visit I enjoyed snowboarding and backpacking. Looks like I’ll miss out on those activities for the forseeable future.
It is my opinion that Dr. George should have done a more thorough initial analysis. Dr. George should have started much slower as I informed him I’d never been to a chiropractor before.
