History

Established in 1978.

John Xepoleas has been teaching, performing and recording in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1978. From over 30 years of private teaching, John has developed the ability to connect with his students and help them reach their drumming goals in a relaxed yet informative manor. Many of his students have gone on to enjoy successful music careers, while others have simply applied their knowledge and passion for drumming for their own enjoyment.

Business Owner

John Xepoleas is one of the most respected drummers and educators on the West Coast. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and has performed and recorded in a variety of musical situations ranging from jazz, rock and fusion, to classical, big band, R & B and funk.

He has written and produced six books sold word-​wide: «Studies for the Contemporary Drummer»; «Drum Lessons with the Greats — Vol. 1 & 2»; «Guitar LWG», «Bass LWG» and «Sax LWG». His articles have appeared in both Modern Drummer and Drum magazines.

He is music Director for the Soundwall music camps, part of the Vic Firth education team and actively performs and records in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is sponsored by Zildjian Cymbals, Drum Workshop Drums, Vic Firth Sticks, Aquarian Drumheads and Shure Microphones,
