Hyatt House Pleasant Hill

I placed an earlier totally truthful review and Unilocal took it down. Don’t stay at this place go find another hotel. Now why did Unilocal remove the review? Yea I think you are right!

A PG&E pole was snapped off near our home so we had to take our young children/​toddlers to sleep in a hotel. What we liked about this place is that it had two bedrooms, a kitchen and a living/​TV space in between the rooms. The place was clean and quiet, walking distance to dining. It has a nice modern bar and provide complimentary breakfast…(Eggs, omelets french toast etc.)…not just a danish… The only negative would be the front desk guy. He reminded me of that Prosecutor in the series «How to Make a Murderer» on Netflix. When we asked if there was room service, he said ‘No.’ With that attitude that sounds like, «No…You idiot… why would you ask such a question?»
But other than him, everything about the place is nice and I’d go back again.

This hotel is perfect. Clean, spacious rooms, friendly staff, excellent breakfast and great location.

My go to hotel when in the Bay Area. Beautiful rooms, excellent service, wonderful pool, whirlpool with outdoor showers, and sport court. Hotel is right next to Pleasant Hill town center with restaurants, movie theater, shopping, and a park. They have a delicious buffet for breakfast with lots of variety. The BART station is a bit of a long walk but they can arrange a shuttle to it in the mornings.

Great staff. Nice enough place to go for meetings. Lower level meeting rooms are in proximity to the very noisy road, so it’s distracting. But overall a nice meeting venue.

We stayed for two nights in a two bedroom, two bath suite. The hotel was conveniently located next to a great shopping /​eating district. The staff, especially the front desk staff were so friendly and accomodating to our requests. Tatiana at the desk was so helpful when she took us in the complimentary (great perk) hotel shuttle to downtown Walnut Creek. She pointed out landmarks and was a wonderful hotel representative. I work in the hospitality industry at a resort, so I know how difficult it is to make every guest feel like they’re your only guest. The staff did a great job!
The hotel is great for families or business travelers. Our room was quiet and the beds were so comfortable. My only complaint is the internet was excruciatingly slow. Overall, it was a great place to stay and we would defintely return. My tip for any future guests is to make sure you make an appointment with the front desk for shuttle service; they seem to only run during certain hours. We enjoyed our stay, especially being able to park our car at the hotel and take the BART anyplace we needed to go.

I have stayed here on numerous occasions and I can honestly say that this hotel has a the best staff! They are always so friendly and helpful. I was amazed that they offered such consistent levels of accommodation and hospitality. I stay in hotels frequently and this one is by far my fave. For the price, you CANNOT BEAT IT! Definitely an A+ experience every time!

Rooms are very clean. Staff is friendly. The location is awesome! Restaurants, movies, shopping all within walking distance. Complimentary breakfast and a bar.

Great stay here for a wedding! Easy check in and check out and the room was clean.
Full breakfast without tickets, just walk in and help yourself. It was nice to have a leisurely breakfast with the other fams staying for the wedding as well.
Pool was great, only 4 feet deep but nice temp and towels out there. Jacuzzi was great after the long drive too. And did I mention FREE parking? Awesome.
I used the ice machine though I could have just made ice in the freezer with the ice maker to avoid the trip.
Also used the fitness room, it was nice and cool and good equipment.
Super close to city hall and a shopping center that contains a movie theater as well. We were lucky to come across a farmers market while we were there, yeah!
Check in at three, check out at NOON!

It’s not your typical hotel where you expect to have room service etc. This is more like an extended stay hotel which is way more amazing. For my cousins graduation, we reserved a hotel for our family so we can all hang out and have the kids swim in the pool. This hotel has plenty of parking and space.
We rented 3 rooms (2 studio suites and a two bedroom suite). The studios were great and had a full kitchen and a full size fridge. They even had a dishwasher and utensils. The two bedroom suite included a wonderful view of the pool and was very spacious. It included a king sized bed, a queen bed as well as a pull out couch, 2 bathrooms, 3 flat screen tvs and a full sized kitchen.
They provide free wifi, free parking and free breakfast with hot and cold choices as well as an omelette bar. Totally worth it! Check in was a breeze and service was nice all around. We did request to have our rooms close to each other but our rooms were all over the place and nowhere near each other. For example, my family was on the 3^rd floor, my aunts/​cousins and parents were on the 4^th floor and my brother and his family were on the 2^nd floor. It was fine but would have been great if they could accommodate this.
The hotel looks recently renovated and is within walking distance of a movie theater as well as several restaurants. If you’re looking for a place to stay in the East Bay, I highly recommend this place.

Do NOT stay at this hotel. I just had my car broken into there. I was visiting a friend and my car was parked in front of the lobby and they broke my back door glass and stoled my luggage! My alarm must went on so how is it possible no staff heard it? It was parked right outside of the main entrance.
In my first review I was complaining about the entrance being very small. There you have it. You can’t even hear the alarm from your own parking lot. I will definitely not come here again!
They should have more lights and security system. You can buy 8 cameras for $ 1000 at Fry’s and have them installed all around your parking lot. Have motion lights that are bright and thieves would not be lurking in a dark parking lot. This kind of crime should not be happening at a hotel parking lot!!!
Be aware of thieves!

My review is solely based on the use of one of the rooms used for a notary seminar.
The staff– every one was friendly and accommodating.
The location– is right off of the free way and conveniently located in the heart of pleasant hill
The conference room– the temperature of the room was never at a happy medium– which made it hard to concentrate on the material being presented.
Also there were no outputs for me to charge my phone– being in an all day seminar one would think there would be several.
Lastly I couldn’t quite tell if this was a hotel accommodation or for long periods of stay– While my assumption would be to assume long periods of stay– the grounds were kept clean and maintained– there was a pool and area for guest to bbq.

Staying here for 2 weeks. We are currently at week 1.5
Transitioning from selling house to moving to a new place is difficult. and choosing Hyatt House was not a bad choice.
Walking distance to Crescent Place for good eats and movie.
Staff are friendly. Housekeeping does a great job!

Overall this is a nice place to stay, with updated décor and good layout of the rooms and convenient location, right next to the freeway and shops/​restaurants/​movie theater, with very pleasant (no pun intended) and helpful staff. I just have a laundry list of minor items that detracted slightly from our 2-​night stay in our 2-​bedroom suite, for those pickier hotel guests like us:
— The breakfast buffet is a definite plus and having the omelet bar is the best feature, along with good selection of beverages, cereals, and fresh fruit. However the waffles on the first morning were too hard for my husband and daughter to bite into, and all three of my family members said that the breakfast potatoes weren’t good. They ran out of donuts by 8:30 on the first morning and didn’t have any pastries out on the second morning (but they did have breads).
— We had to switch to a different room when we first checked in because of a noticeably unpleasant smell in our room, which seemed like a combination of food (maybe prior guest had cooked something in the kitchenette) and the hotel’s room deodorizer smell. For me personally I’m not a fan of the deodorizer scent that is used throughout the hotel but I assume that it’s just my personal preference.
— As mentioned, the décor is nice and contemporary, but the wall clock didn’t work in our main room (it probably just needs a new battery), the dvd player didn’t work until we requested the proper remote control from the front desk, and the lighting overall is very stark, probably due to using energy efficient bulbs everywhere, which lack warmth.
— Housekeeping never came to our room while we were out all day. I did have the do not disturb card on the door during the night and during our breakfast, but we were out of the room by 10am and I had taken the card off the door. That’s never happened to me in a hotel before.
— I’ve also never stayed at a hotel that provided soap/​shampoo/​conditioner but no lotion. No big deal, as I always have my own from home too, but we would have used it if it were available.
Again, I want to reiterate that overall we appreciated what the hotel had to offer and none of the above would prevent us from staying there again. We’re big fans of Hyatt hotels.

My brother booked this place two weeks before our check-​in date, we actually got to the hotel quite early so we went inside to try to do an early check in but unfortunately they were all booked.
I think the guy who helped us out was Matt, we asked if there were any rooms available for us to check in early, when he told us there wasn’t he took my brother’s name and number so he can contact us when a room is available.
around 1 – 2 PM, Matt called my brother letting us know we can check in.
walked into the hotel and it was awesome; my brother didn’t tell me it had a full kitchen. The room was clean, the kitchen had everything you needed, etc. I was pretty impressed.
This hotel also includes complimentary breakfast, which was okay. The waffles were soggy and not many choices for breakfast compare to my past experience from other hotels.
I’m giving this place 4 ½ stars, minus half a star for their breakfast. Everything else was awesome, service, the room and location. I think we found thee place to stay when we visit my little brother up north.

I booked the trio suite for a birthday party this past Sunday ($ 231). It was great!
2 rooms separated by a kitchen and living room with sectional couch. Each room has a bathroom, one has a king bed and the other two doubles. Décor is modern and new, kitchen is nice, but note no oven.
We took advantage of the grill area, the pool and the basketball court. It was nice! We BBQ’d chicken and I set up my spread downstairs on one of the tables. No one bothered us and we (eventually 25 ppl) were able to eat and enjoy each other’s company.

Needed a place to spend the night close to Clayton, but not have to stay in the crappy little places right there. Decided this was convenient enough.
Clean hotel. Interior was pleasant and even nice. I had a two bedroom «studio» and it was super nice. Had I really thought about it I would have brought snacks and drinks as it has a functional utility kitchen.
Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was included and it was fine. I’m not a big breakfast person so just giving me some things to eat is fine. If you are a fanatic, then you will be underwhelmed, but I thought it was fine.
If I had to be in this area again I’d totally stay here.

This review is for a studio, not a suite. The biggest difference is that a one bedroom suite has a separate bedroom with a door. The studio does not have a separate bedroom. But we don’t need a separate bedroom so this is good enough for us and we save some money.
The Hyatt’s website does not explain this clearly, but the studio also comes with a full kitchen (see picture). So you don’t really need a suite to get a full kitchen.
The kitchen is fully equipped — full size fridge, microwave oven and stove. It’s also fully stocked with dishes, cups, glasses, utensils, cook wares, and even a wine opener. There’s even a dishwasher.
And here’s the good part: You leave your big mess of dirty dishes in the room, go out and play, and when you return, you’ll find your dishes completely clean in the dishwasher — with a note saying that «the dishes inside the dishwasher are clean»!
WOW! Now, that’s a wow factor, a requirement to get 5 stars from me.
Another wow factor is the reasonable price. We booked this months in advance so we probably got a much better deal, but $ 109 including a WiFi, parking, and a hot breakfast buffet is wow! If you know the San Francisco Bay area, $ 109 a night is almost like a motel price.
Breakfast is good and is included in the room rate. There’s a good variety of juices: orange, tomato, grapefruit, etc. It has all the general breakfast staples like muffins, cereals, fruits, yogurt, etc. Nothing out of the ordinary. There are several hot items like scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, etc. The buffet is really good, except that the eggs are horrible.
Nevertheless, everything about our stay here is 5-​star, so I’ll just forget about the terrible eggs and give this place a 5-​star rating. And hopefully, when we revisit here in the future, they’ll have better scrambled eggs.
