G’s Juice

Juices are great and they even make custom ones for you, only catch is slightly pricey and parking is always a challenge :-/

Can’t say enough good things about this place. INCREDIBLE service, lots of yummy options, and great prices. So happy that this is my neighborhood juice bar!

Delcious! I love the mello yellow and dirt magurt, although that is more of an indulgence! Señor G’s is walking distance to mi casa and when I’m hungry but don’t really want to eat a meal I always walk over the G’s. It is always crowded and people love it. Prices are reasonable. Fruit is fresh. Yum!

If you’re just stopping in for a juice or smoothie you might want to call in your order beforehand. When it gets busy it takes a long time just to get your juice.
Other than that the juices are fresh, yummy and healthy!

I’ve been wanting to find a place in the Marina/​Playa del Rey area that has fresh juice but doesn’t cost me an arm and a leg. G’s Juice is it!
I ordered the Strava Smoothie and the Green Machine. As expected, the Green Machine didn’t taste the «yummiest” – but that’s because it was pure veggies and a bit of fruit with no added sugars. The Strava Smoothie was to die for. I don’t know what kind of non-​fat yogurt they use but I need to buy some for my fridge.
It’s been five hours and I’m already craving another smoothie!

I haven’t really gotten into very healthy juices so I was excited to see that G’s adds frozen yogurt to their smoothies. I’m a simple kinda smoothie girl — strawberry, pineapple and banana is my mix of choice. But, when I saw that G’s didn’t offer that combination, I went with something that sounded equally as good — Mellow Yellow ($ 5 for small). It combined peach, papaya, mango and banana with low-​fat frozen yogurt.
I placed my order on the «restaurant’ side of the place and I was instructed to pick it up on the «juice bar» side. Now, although these designated areas were literally just separated by a half wall, they appeared to be two completely different operations. huevos rancheros, omelets, and bacon were being cooked up for the tables of patrons who were eagerly awaiting breakfast on one side, while a guy with a blender, surrounded by fruit was hard at work on the other side.
After about a 5 minute wait, my drink was ready. The smoothie was very tasty, sweet, and there were small chunks of fruit. It was delightful and it was a perfect way to start my Saturday. I’m looking forward to going back to try some of their Mexican food and a few more of their smoothies.

Trying to be healthier and replace my notorious sweet tooth craving with healthy juicing replacements. Been to señor g’s for yummy Mexican but not juices.
It was busy as always but quick and friendly service. So any options, I finally chose the Big Ben — kale, spinach, celery, ginger etc. Order was ready in 5 minutes and it was yummy! Definitely will be back again.

The Green Machine is really good. No it’s not organic but the prices reflect that. It’s a great deal.
Their version of green juice is made from green apples, cucumber, celery, kale, spinach. The green apple gives it the right amount of tart and sweet. I make it at home sometimes when I can’t make it out to G’s juice.

I don’t like juice. It’s packed full of sugar so you feel awesome and can-​do for about an hour until you inevitably crash and start working your way through a bag of mini Snickers, juicers are expensive, and if you’re trying to be healthy or save time, why not just eat the vegetables on their own and have a nice glass of water on the side? Does mashing them all together really make them taste better than fries or French toast with whipped cream? Can someone please explain why the whole world has lost its head over something as mundane as juice? Maybe because this one time in college, my friend asked me to go on a detox juice diet with her, and out of solidarity and a child-​like sense of wonder, I went on the damn diet for three days before going full-​blown psychotic (i.e., going to bed at 7 to stave off the hunger pangs, smelling toast when no one was making toast, glaring at anyone who dared to eat in public). Man cannot live on juice and I will go head-​to-​head against anyone who tells me otherwise. To this day, I can’t hear the word «detox» without getting mild shakes.
Well, what the hell, I’ve touched the Pacific Ocean (cold, briny, and cleaner than the Jersey shore side of the Atlantic), and I might as well have a juice to better fit in with these tan, smiling Californians (also, google «SNL Californians»). Hmmm, let’s go all out, I thought, the Green Machine looks good. It looked a tad like swamp water, but much, much tastier. I don’t think I’ll ever dream of the parsley, cucumber, and celery combo, though.
The parking situation sucks. The section of Culver leading to the beach is this no man’s land of permit-​only and 15-​minute zones. Probably better to park further out and walk over than chance the tiny parking lot on the side of the restaurant, which not only has no spots (er, unless you camp out and stalk a customer) but also makes trying to back out a horrendous nightmare.

I was craving a green smoothie today so I stopped in assuming they would have one on the menu considering they have green juice options. At first I was bummed to see no green smoothies on the menu and then became even more deflated after seeing there was frozen yogurt in all of them as well (not vegan!) But I asked the guy behind the counter if it could be made without the yogurt and he said they could use fruit juice instead. Then I asked if I could add spinach or kale and he said no problem.
So I ended up walking out a happy camper, vegan green smoothie in hand!

Awesome juice spot in Playa Del Rey with a hearty breakfast menu! The juices are fresh and quick. Diner style– with a counter (normally full), the place is a bright sunny spot to enjoy the paper on an easy morning. The staff is really friendly and I’ve never had a better machaca. Hidden gem in Playa for sure!

Love that this place isn’t pretentious. They’re not trying to rob you blind. Prices are the best in the city. They don’t claim to be organic, while Whole Foods misleads you into thinking their juices are organic. In reality both G’s and Whole Foods feed the same monster carrots into their juicers. I’d rather not be lied to and pay a lot less at G’s!
It is a little weird to be smelling Mexican food while they’re making my juice, but I dig.

This is one of those spots that I wish was closer to where I live. Everything about my visit was awesome. I was disappointed at first bc I had my heart set on the Green Machine juice but they were out of kale and spinach. But the fruit salad I got instead was EXCELLENT!
All the fruit tasted very fresh. Te papayas were incredible! And the dude behind the juice counter really hooked up the papayas up bc they were out of blueberries too.
Next time I’m in the area I’m coming here.

Came here after playing some beach volleyball; I was in desperate need for some sugar! I got the Mango Wango and it was YUMMY! Staff was friendly and the place was pretty packed with locals.

UPDATE REVIEW: This review was marked down from 5-​stars originally to 4, then to 3, after countless experiences of absent minded service, i.e., I didn’t get the smoothie that I had ordered one time so cancelled it off. Last time (THE WORST), there was me, and a mother and baby — and all your workers were loud and rakish as a fraternity, upsetting the baby from its sleep. The gratuitous noise all the young callow male workers made was out of place when there’s a mother and baby present. I can’t believe you guys have the gall to nearly double your prices (prices went up, I’d say, 40% hike out of the blue last year from the year’s previous) but not have a staff with common sense in their raucous little brains. #continuing-​disappointment
ORIGINAL REVIEW THREE YEARS AGO: What the G! Really, I’ve driven by a hundred times and assumed you were merely a juice bar. Which you are, but you are so much more. You are a delicious tasting Mexican breakfast and lunch restaurant. Props on the affordable but lovingly made Enchilada, the pack ‘em hard Burritos, and feed-​me-​senseless Machaca & Eggs. And I know it’s free, but you really went the extra mile on homemade chips and fresh cut tomato salsa made with love. I don’t know how you have the time, G.
You might have hooked me for life on the Orange/​Papaya and Yogurt Blended Freeze that is going to hook me for life. If not that, then the Orange/​Mango freeze. Gee G, I needed something great and refreshing after I’m done with my «Art of Pilates» workouts. Thank you, G. BACK TO PRESENT: Thanks no more, guys. I’m going over to the «Mad Carrot» for smoothies down the street.

This place has everything! Watermelon, mango, pineapple, and honeydew. None of the chain juice places have those items, so kudos to G’s for that.
I had a custom blend and it was pretty good. If I’m ever by this area again, I’ll def hit it up.

Love the selection of fresh juices here! I love anything with fresh OJ in it for a bright citrus note, especially in the morning!
My favorite: OMP! Orange-​mango-​pineapple! My whole world outlook becomes brighter after a few sips of this delicious juice! You can actually feel all the Vitamin C perk you right up. Perfect right before a bike ride on the beach!
I have also tried the Dr. Feel Good (carrot-​beet-​celery-​parsley-​orange). It’s also delicious, but it can get overly beet-​y, especially toward the end. I recommend sticking to a small size on that one.
Their online menu promises way more selections than are actually available once you get there, so half a star off. Another half-​star for the parking situation; there is never parking available, even when we go early in the morning.

Whether you’re a G or not, G’s Juice in Playa del Rey is the spot to get fresh juice and smoothies. It’s a small shop on Culver Blvd. next to it’s older brother Señor G’s mexican restaurant.
Like many G’s, this place loves grass… not just any grass, but wheatgrass. The strong smell of the fresh wheatgrass … like a fresh-​cut lawn on a summer morning … hits you as soon as you walk in. It’s hard not to opt for a shot (or double shot). Olivia Z. and I couldn’t resist the lure of the grass and both took a hit of the stuff. It tastes just like it smells: grassy.
We also tried a Playa Papaya smoothie with Papaya, Banana, and Orange and non-​fat Frozen Yogurt. If you like papaya you’ll like this drink. Up next for me to try: Peach-​on-​the-​Beach or Mellow Yellow.
The guys at the counter were friendly, cool, and laid-​back. They are real G’s of Playa del Rey.
Parking on Culver Blvd. is a zoo, but G’s Juice does have a small strip of parking along the side of the building. Getting in/​out wasn’t the easiest because it was so packed, but at least it was free.

If you’ve seen fat sick and nearly dead, than you know what this green machine is all about. It’s tasty, low cal, and full of nutrients that kick start your day a million times better than coffee.
They’ve got a killer variety too. Even though I love the Green, you can mix it up and they’ll take care of you. Plenty of recipes to choose from, or just build your own!
Juicing is simply amazing. G’s makes it gangster (at least I’m guessing that’s what the G is for).
My only gripe is that they don’t use organic produce. Hence the 4 stars instead of 5. However, their prices reflect that. So whether is a quick fix, juice fast diet, or just a mid day pick me up they got you covered. You can call ahead too for quick turnaround. Don’t forget you stamp card, you will be back I assure you.
