Taking lessons with Tommy Stryder has been a very encouraging and rewarding experience. Tommy’s patience and compassion for helping others to learn how to play, feel confident and most important enjoy learning is a rare find. Tommy has introduced me to new techniques, styles, and rhythms in a variety of genres that would appeal to me. He does not shy away from introducing me to challenging lessons, though I might express skepticism about my ability to learn the new material. He breaks the learning into steps that are quickly attainable, building confidence to go beyond what was just taught. Tommy has been very attentive in correcting subtleties in my technique which have made a huge difference in my playing. I recommend Tommy Stryder as a music teacher without hesitation and I am so glad I found him.
