Visiting this doctor’s office is like going through a hellish waiting experience akin to Disney World. Other then that, the doctor was fine.
Dr. Stanley Rous is an eye-​specialist who I went to see for a condition I need operated on after I was referred to him from another doctor. When you see him, there’s a nurse in the room with you, transcribing his treatment for you, so it’s super handy to ask for a copy so you can remember the multitudes of medicines/​instructions you’re given. The doctor is cooly professional and got my job done right. Now here’s the sucky factor:
The waiting room experience: As expected for a patient, you arrive slightly ahead of appointment time so you can avoid the crowd, fill out your paperwork, and get into a waiting cue. You wait, and wait, and wait, finally your name gets called a half hour past your appointment time, the nurse motions you into an office and runs some tests on you. Just when you think you’re finally gonna see the doctor, you’re told to go around the corner and BAM! There’s another waiting line in the hallway. Finally, you get to see the doctor but it’s almost 1.5 hours past your appointment time. Can we say this medical office overbooks?
I felt like his office was just inept in managing its turn-​around, I definitely didn’t enjoy the cattle call experience.
The procedure that I required which I had booked an appointment time for, he ended up clearing out all his patients for the day before operating on me. So, I ended up being seen at the end of the day so I was there from 4pm (appt time) and didn’t get operated on till 6:30pm! Oy vey.
