Rick Case Hyundai

Absolutely unacceptable and deceiving experience. I was interested in a used Santa Fe Sport 2.0 that I saw on
. I called Rick Case Hyundai to see if the car was still available. Josh, who answered the phone, was clearly confused upon looking up the vehicle. He said he needed to call me back in an hour. He never returned my phone call. I called the dealership again, and Josh answered. He was still unable tell me whether or not the vehicle was available for a test drive, so he forwarded me to a sales consultant named Patrick.
Patrick told me that particular vehicle was currently in service, undergoing a 120-​point inspection so it could be officially Hyundai Certified. I asked him why the vehicle currently appears on
as a Hyundai Certified in-​stock vehicle, yet it has not completed the certification process. He said he did not know, but would call me when the vehicle has completed the certification process in service, and is ready to be test driven.
Two days pass, and I never hear from Patrick. During those 2 days, I found the vehicle on
, with a completely updated Carfax report showing that the vehicle went into service earlier that week.
I called the dealership again, and a woman answered the phone (I believe her name was Lindsay). She told me the vehicle was out of service and on the lot available for me to take a closer look. She advised me to ask for Patrick upon arrival at the dealership. I told her I would come in that night or the next morning.
I arrived at Rick Case Hyundai that evening at 7:15pm (they close at 9:00pm). Patrick met me, but did not remember me. He did not know in which vehicle I was interested until I reminded him. He said he needed to ask the manager for the vehicle’s key.
After retrieving the key, Patrick told my partner and I to join him on the golf cart so we could drive to the vehicle. We drove all over, but he could not find the vehicle. At one point he confused the 2014 Santa Fe Sport 2.0 with a Tuscon. He then confused it for a regular 2016 Santa Fe Sport. He clearly was not familiar with the vehicles. We drove past one vehicle at the back side of an enormous dark parking lot, which appeared to be the 2014 Santa Fe Sport 2.0 that I wanted. Patrick said, «Oh that’s not it – that’s a new 2017… it’s got to be around here somewhere; everyone was calling in to ask about it.» It certainly did not look like a 2017; the wheels looked older and the tires used. Also, why would a 2017 be at the back of an enormous, dark parking lot parked next to various other used vehicles while all other new vehicles, like the Tuscons, were all parked next to one another in perfect rows?
After he stopped at the car wash to ask the car wash workers some questions, where they were pleasantly blasting Snoop Dogg, I told Patrick to take us back to the dealership because we were cold. I also asked him if he could bring the vehicle to us upon finding it. He said, «I’ll have to ask my manager, but he’ll probably side with you.»
We returned to the dealership, where he entered his manager’s office. He then approached my partner and I to say, «The vehicle you wanted was sold at auction today.»
I told him it was a horrible experience: I was told over the phone earlier in the day by someone at Rick Case Hyundai that the vehicle had completed the certification process/​service, and was available for me to test drive. I also told him that though he promised to call me back, he never returned my phone calls. He replied, «I called you and you said you were no longer interested in the vehicle.» Being that his statement was a bold-​faced lie, I pulled out my phone and asked him if he wanted to see my call log to show him that he never called me.
I came home and looked up the vehicle on
again. It’s still there, and the vehicle we saw on the lot – which Patrick told us was a 2017 – was, indeed, the 2014 that I wanted. I also looked at the Carfax report on
: it does not show the vehicle being sold. I believe Rick Case Hyundai advertised that vehicle online at a generous price in hopes of getting people to come into the dealership to see it, only to be told, «Sorry, but that vehicle is no longer available. But, we can put you in a nice 2016!» Ironically enough, the 2017 Santa Fe Sports debuted last week, so they are probably trying to clear out any 2015s and 2016s on their lot. I.e., «the bait & switch.» Also, why would they sell that car at auction when they knew I was interested in it, and when «everyone was calling to ask about it» per Patrick.
Everything in this story is 100% true with no exaggerations. I highly advise avoiding this dealership, as well as Rick Case Acura next door (Patrick’s manager’s office was in the Acura dealership); it’s dirty, and full of people who are rude, incompetent, not trustworthy, unknowledgeable, and unreliable.
I have never been treated with such disrespect from a car dealership in all my life. F–

I bought my Hyundai Sonata in 2012 in North Carolina. After I moved to Florida in 2015, I was glad to find Rick Case for my maintenance needs. I felt more comfortable taking my car to a dealership for oil changes, since I had such a good experience with the dealership in NC. The service agents at Rick Case are wonderful. They listen to my requests and explain the work they’re doing clearly. If they find something else that needs work (i.e. break fluid replaced, air filter changed, etc.), they are quick to tell me and inform me of the cost. I have not felt like they take advantage of women but rather «look out» for all their customers.
However, each time I’ve taken my car for maintenance at Rick Case, a salesman has approached me in the waiting area to try to sell me a new Hyundai. The last time (2−10−16) I took my laptop with me to do some work while I was there and also in hopes I would not be interrupted by a salesman. My current car loan is with a local credit union, the interest rate is the lowest I have ever seen, and I’m completely happy with my $ 220/​month car payment. Even after I clearly say I am not interested in buying a new car, the salesmen always push to try to get me in a new car. The last time I was having an oil change, the salesman repeatedly asked me if I was sure I didn’t want a new car. He claimed he was trying to save me money. I was having routine maintenance done on my car, which I budget for yearly. So I fail to see how buying a brand new car during a regularly scheduled oil change will save me money. The reason I mention this is because it is a pattern at Rick Case. If it only happened once, I wouldn’t bother writing about it. I also understand a salesman’s income depends on making sales. But badgering people in the service waiting area is not a good tactic. It makes me want to go somewhere else to get an oil change. When I’m ready to buy a new car, I will go to a dealership and talk to a salesman personally.

I am in the market for a 2013 or 2014 Genesis R spec and they had the one I wanted. I spoke with Patrick and when I say spoke with him I mean I spoke and he didn’t return my call. Explanation: I told him my situation, asked questions about the car, made an offer over the phone contingent on the vehicles description to me was accurate. I asked that he speak with his sales manager about my offer and get back to me. I never heard back from him. I will not chase any dealer down to purchase a car. Minimal customer service goes a long way these days. A returned phone call is the minimum that I expect. Several weeks later an associate of Patrick’s calls to follow up with me and I let him know what had happened. He apologized and told me that «this dealership certainly does not do business that way» and «I would like to make it right». So I start the process over with him. Tell him which vehicle I was interested in, used 2013 or 2014 Genesis, black, tan interior. He replied «I have a black Genesis right in front of me when can you come down to test drive it?». I asked if it was new or used and he replied it was new. I clarified what I was looking for and I soon realized I was talking to a brick wall. After assuring me that he would call me back soon I promptly never heard back from him either. Do yourself a favor and find a dealer who tries to do the minimum in customer service and calls back if they say they will. It’s the little things that build trust and thereby a business.

You should stop advertising free car washes with your rewards program. This is the third time that I have tried but the car wash is closed. Another example of your shoddy customer service.

I have been having my leased Hyundai serviced here since I moved to Fort Lauderdale in 2013. My lease end is one month away and I decided that I would try to trade it for a new one and take advantage of the loyalty program. I also was considering just buying my current car since I’m a little over mileage but I’m use to it and it’s in great condition. I contacted the dealer and the Internet guy, Josh, kept calling me to see when I could come in. I asked up front what it would cost if I just come in to buy me lease out. I was told the tax and dealer fee of $ 699. I guess that’s fair for them simply doing a little paperwork, however when I showed up I was hit with payoff plus dealer fee plus $ 499 for registration when the car is already registered plus A SAFETY INSPECTION FEE??? WHAT? $ 1200 on top of everything else. I was slapped in the face so hard by this. They are money hungry and didn’t even know that I was considering the new SUV. This dealer is no good and I would love to know how to let Mr Case and his wife that advertise such good things, know just how I was treated. The manager didn’t even know what to say to me about the registration or safety inspection other than that’s what Hyundai required to buy my car. WRONG SIR!!! I went to Potamik Hyundai in North Miami and bought a new SUV with absolutely no problem. I may be a needle in a haystack but they sure lost me! I know reviews are ones opinion but trust me, everything I say is true and even a friend that was with me was completely floored by the charges.

Didn’t buy a car but did buy a part for my ELANTRA. Terry the rep in sales assisted me over the phone. Emailed me a Credit card Authorization and two days later the part was delivered. Terry’s service was just as great I person as in the phone. Thank you Terry.

I like the sales people and have even bought 5 cars from them. But my 2012 sonata engine died while I was driving with my 6yo I had the car towed to this location and a few days later they said it was my fault and there was gunk in the engine and the new engine was not covered. I asked if there were any issues with this model (had seen on line there were class action cases involving this model) they said there were not. They said they have never had a complaint about this car. I bought a new car and took on a new loan I did not want. And 3 weeks later I get a letter from Hyundai that my model and vin number have been recalled because of metal shavings left in the engine cause it to die. Just like my car did and the repairmen said they never heard of. Hyundai still refuses to do anything about this.

Purchase my new Elantra GT got the deal I was looking for. Great staff made me feel at ease thanks.

Don’t waste your time. The people who work here are imbeciles. Lack of care and customer service. Rude!!! Unprofessional.

Always a good experience. Love my Hyundai. Just bought 10 car. Marty Israel is great to work with. Will always try to get best deal for you. And. Best service facility. Except for broken car wash!!!

I made an appointment for an oil change. I arrived on time. I was told an hour and a half. (for an oil change!!!) A technician from that department said it probably wouldn’t be that long because that area was moving right along. It took TWO HOURS AND 15 MINUTES. For an oil change. I’ll never go back there again and will suggest my daughter not go there either. What’s the point of even making an appointment? Ridiculous.

I leased my car from here in February. Brought it in for my first free oil change today. I have never in my life waited 2HOURS for an OIL CHANGE. This is beyond unacceptable. It’s not like I just walked in off the street I made an appointment for today 4 days ago. And no one tells you when your car is done either, it’s a fun guessing game. I’m sure my car was sitting ready to go for a good 15 mins before I decided myself to walk to the counter and ask them how much longer. Lo and behold it was finished and no one had turned my keys in yet for me to take it home. The staff is rude and lazy. Never again. When I turn my car in I will be sure to find my next one at a different dealer. So disappointing.

Purchased a used Mazda3 from them. They were not pushy and were helpful. They gave me a great rate on a used car 2.5%APR. Car was spotless and they are even fixing up the very limited list of issues I had. Very Happy! Ask for Jonathan, he did a good job for me

Why does Rita always where ugly hats on commercials? Seriously, be crazy and make a commercial without those horrible hats. They do NOTHING for the dealership or Rita! Thank you! Its been bothering me for years!

The salesman literally got up and walked out the door when I said I needed to think about it. It was just me and my friend in the entire lot on a Saturday night, with dozen of salesmen walking around. When I realized he did not give me a copy of the carfax I emailed him to email it to me, to which he said he will send it to me the next day. Which he did, in a series of text messages. I asked him to email it to me, so I could forward it to my family for advice. He informs me along the line of «wasn’t allowed to send attachments via emails, you could come in to see it, if not good luck.»

It’s a dealership. What do you expect? I admire Mrs. Case with long flowing beautiful hair. Hopefully, I can look as good when I am her age?! We go here every time for our oil change and upkeep to our newish Hyundai. (We DO love our Hyundai Elantra!) It is crazy, and the parking lot is way too crowded. But it’s okay.

The dreaded time to buy a car had come. Fortunately, the family had done a lot of online research and pretty well knew what we wanted. They had a few in stock, according to the computer, so my daughter and I went on a preliminary scouting trip.
When we got there, a salesman immediately came out and introduced himself. We told him that we were just doing the first look around, so he vanished… completely. This came as a real surprise, since generally car people hang around like vultures at a carcass. While I don’t like to be pushed, I’m not fond of being deserted, either. He had told us new cars in the back, used ones in the front, and that was it.
We took at look at the used ones of the model we were looking for. I was surprised to note that one of them was heavily decorated by whatever flying designers were in the neighborhood. Generally, you never see a dirty car at a dealer. There’s a carwash onsite, so this was totally unnecessary.
After we got done looking, we had some questions. There was a group of salesmen gathered around one car, chatting, but not the one we saw when we got there. So we switched. This one was much more sales oriented. He showed us one that they had just put on display that was the kind we wanted. He showed us the options and had us take a test drive. We explained that we weren’t the ones that would be driving it, but were on a scouting mission. He was very nice and gave us his card, in case we wanted more info.
We came home and my daughter looked up the cars online. She found exactly the same one that we had just driven for $ 3000 less than the price marked on the car! We ran off the info and my husband went back the next morning. We ended up buying the car for the online price, but they wouldn’t drop any further than that. It did seem to be a good value, a 2013, fully loaded Tuscon with only 6900 miles on it! And it’s bright red — finally, something I can find in a parking lot! YAY!

Rick Case Hyundai is trying to spoil me. After having dealt with the inefficient, inept team at Gus Machado Ford, the thought of purchasing a car was one that invoked terror in to the very heart of me. After this experience though, I have to say that I feel much more comfortable now with the car buying experience.
From my sales consultant and his general sales manager, Mo and Fares, to the finance manager, Ted, and Samantha in the service department, I was treated with courtesy and respect. Even the other associates in the sales and service department were all a pleasure to deal with.
Mo especially went above and beyond, taking care of any small issues that arose, and thanks to all of this I am so happy to now be a Hyundai owner.

Going to look at and/​or purchase a car to me is right up there with going to the dentist or the DMV. No one wants to go, so I decided to get up early today, spend my entire day here and hopefully walk out with a new vehicle.
To my surprise the ordeal wasn’t really an ordeal at all. It was pretty painless. Almost too painless.
I immediately was greeted and a sales guy did the usual «what are you looking for» questions. We talked about what I wanted and didn’t and I have to say, he was not pushy at all. Never once did he try to up sell me on anything.
When we got the negotiation things were a little rough. Once I signed on my number, he came back twice telling me his manager wouldn’t do this and I would have to put more money down or accept a higher payment. I let him know that there was a signature on the line and I wasn’t budging. I know it was all semantics of the car dealership game. I got the price I wanted and paid not a penny more.
Financing was a breeze and after I signed my life away I walked out, or drove out rather with the car I wanted.

This is a dealership I will continue to use going forward. And what I thought would take the entire day took up a little over two hours. I cannot complain about that!
