Grove East In Plantation

We have been living here for more than a year now and renewed for an additional year.
Location: Yes, as many have pointed out, the surrounding area may appear a little rundown, however, this is a very convenient location as it is easily 5 minutes away from both major expressways 95 and Turnpike. Additionally, there is security here at night, and gates, if that is concern — which it was initially for me since I am a woman who often gets home alone in the evenings. I have never seen anything to make me feel unsafe while living here. Also at approximately 5 minutes you are at your nearest Publix in a «nicer-​looking» area. It’s also very close to Broward mall, which has undergone remodeling and has a nice ambiance, for those of you like me who had not gone in years, and the Hard Rock Casino.
Facilities/​Services: There’s a sauna, steam room, gym (has a good variety of equipment — free weights, treadmills, recumbent exercise bike, elliptical, other weighted machines, etc), pool with 2 large bbqs, play ground, and auto clean area. They are great facilities, and are perfect for hosting parties. The office provides us with ac filters at no charge. We also have valet trash pick-​up.
Maintenance/​Office: The staff is very friendly, and the front office staff really takes the time to get to know you and your families. They often have events for everyone to get together, and some events for the kiddos. Currently, they have an area for us to wrap gifts and they’ve provided us with gift wrapping paper, boxes, bows, tags, tissue paper, scissor, tape, etc.
They’re very quick in responding to our requests, which can be made in person or via website. We got out ac checked in less than 12 hours after putting the request, and this has not been the first time we see it.
Apartment: I love it! Yes, the prices are comparable to those in «nicer» surrounding areas, but for the same price you usually get older apartments and lower quality facilities, if any. There are a variety of models so I can speak about ours. It’s a very spacious 1-​bedroom, with laminate wood flooring (my favorite!) Parking is never an issue and there are no assigned spaces. It’s easy to register guests if they want to stay overnight (automated phone service, or website).

I have been living at Grove East since 2013. I cannot say I have experienced any of the issues some of the other people have written about thus far. I have always found management to be very responsive and helpful with any questions I had. And any maintenance issue that I had was dealt with within a day. Shopping is convenient and the 2 main highways are very close. I have always found the property to be well-​maintained and love the pool area as well as the jacuzzi, gym with sauna and steam room and the main clubhouse with giant flat screen TV and computers. We even have a kitchen area for warming up food and a free an Espresso and coffee bar. 2 BIG new BBQ grills with Marble counter tops! The only thing missing is a billiard room. LOL Really what more do you need?

I came here to leave a review on my residency here from July 2013 – 2014. Fortunately, it won’t be long because every other reviewer is correct. This place is a dump and the prices are outrageous for THAT neighborHOOD. I turned them into the Better Business Bureau. Do not waste your time. Move 5 minutes west of 441.

Worst place I have ever lived. Management is terrible, dumb, and lazy. Maintenance is awful and the trash service you’re forced to pay for is terrible. Over priced, unsafe neighborhood, bad parking if you live in the front buildings you have to share parking with the businesses so people who actually live here have no where to park during week days. My car was broken into despite the gates which are usually broken and the «24 hour security» which is one guy on a golf cart. We’ve had a problem with ants since day one, maintenance comes in whenever they want with out warning.

My parents lived here for 3 years following this places opening. It was from their experience I chose to live here recently. I’ve been here slightly over a year, and its time to leave.
When I came it was a family oriented neighborhood, with rent prices in the $ 1500 plus range it had a decent crowd of people. There were get togethers thrown every friday, and plenty of little events like free pizza on a weeknight. Or the girls would roll sushi for everyone.
Then the property was sold and all that stopped. New management sucks. But every management here has lasted barely 6 months. The surrounding community is the ghetto. For a while we had random kids jimping the fence just to hangout by the pool area and walk around. Just enjoying the ambience we pay for!
Lovely. Now apparently as more vacancies are around, management has obviously lowered the qualifications required to live here. I’m not normally one to judge, but when the crowd gets distinctly thuggish its time to leave. Used to be that everyone you passed by said hi and hello. Now I just get attitude from whoever the latest miss lil’ thang thats around.
By the way, pool time is restricted because of the vagrants we had jumping the fence. The gym has been in disrepair for a full year. And certain patches of grass have died, never to be replaced.
What we had was a luxury apartment complex that started with professionals and families, and affluent, cultured people.
Now we have just about anybody, many who are loud, generally unsavory, and not people I would have over for a beer.
Goodbye Grove East.

NOT IMPRESSED. Lived at this apartment complex for the past year and I could not be more excited to get out. Don’t get me wrong the physical apartments are very nice but that is not the only thing to consider when selecting where to live.
First problem, the area. The first week I lived there I was lucky enough to hear a gun fight go on outside the apartments (during which I am pretty sure someone was killed). There were also armed robberies in the BofA parking lot right outside of the complex. NOT GOOD.
Second, MANAGEMENT IS A JOKE! Basically the story goes like this… few months after moving into my apartment the security gate to the stairs of my building broke and would let anyone enter the stairs (with the neighborhood being an issue this was a big issue to me). The management told me it was no big deal because they have security (which is the biggest joke of security I have ever seen usually a female doing her nails on a golf cart). The first time I brought up this issue I was told it would be two weeks before it was fixed. A month later I went in again to complain… yet again told some random time frame and that a part needed for the fix was needing to be shipped. After each time period I was given I returned to the office only to be lied to yet again about when it would be fixed. Long story short… ended up taking them 9 – 10 months to fix a security gate and the property manager was very rude and unprofessional the entire time.
