Absolutely APPALLED by the demeanor and attitude of the president Cheryl Szary. I found a lost dog in my neighborhood late last night and tried to find his owners but to no avail. I took in the dog for the night as it was late and the nearest no-​kill shelter with microchip scanning was closed. I fed him and gave him water and he was very happy. This morning I called the Allen Babcock Dog & Cat Rescue to simply find out if they had the ability to scan the dog for a microchip so I could find the owners. The woman said «Let me tell you something, you took in the dog so it is your responsibility to find his owners». I was so put off by her response and her unwillingness to help me, and I told her. She started yelling at me on the phone telling me I shouldn’t have taken the dog in and they are too busy to deal with lazy people like me. I hung up after that. I would never, EVER recommend putting a dog or cat in their care. I was so disgusted. Luckily, I took the dog to a local animal hospital and they were more than happy to help me. The dog ended up having a microchip and we were able to find the owners! He is home safe and sound, no thanks to Allen Babcock dog & cat rescue.

It is good to see rescue groups for the helpless, animals or humans.
I wanted to contribute my share in helping Buster, a pitbull puppy. The staff at Babcock was prompt and provided an update as well. Just wish they’d not put up graphic images. I mean, what has been done is done… no use publicizing the horrors and freak humans out there!

This is a no-​kill rescue group for dogs and cats that relies exclusively on donations and volunteer foster parents, so please help!
They really let you know how much they appreciate it, even though they have their hands full with rescue duties. They even took the time to contact me with a status update on a particular severely injured dog, on whose behalf I made the donation, knowing how concerned I was. This organization is hard-​core: they won’t give up on an animal no matter what it takes.
