Just a word of warning, don’t accept a truck unless the gas tank is full. They’ll hit you with major fees if they think you’ve returned the truck with even slightly less fuel than it started with, and you’ll have to go through major hassles to argue your case.

I picked up at truck on Tuesday morning without a reservation and returned it today (Wednesday). On the plus side they had trucks available and the process was relatively trouble free (see below).
The truck I was rented was in very poor condition:
— stale urine smell
— scratched and dented everywhere
— transmission kicked like a mule
— overdrive didn’t work
— engine made a lot of clattering noises
— road noise was unreal
— got a false alarm about releasing the parking brake when the parking brake wasn’t even set
On the plus side it didn’t break down and the AC was cold. Another problem was the fuel gauge didn’t work. I followed the estimate on the sheet to refill the truck (it was only ¼ full when I rented it) and after refueling to that level the needle barely moved. I constantly checked the needle and finally got back to the ¼ mark about $ 60 in. By the time I returned the truck the needle read over ½ a tank! The U-​Haul person refused to credit me for the extra fuel. The fuel alone was almost as much as the rental for 2-​days!
