Kristopher B.

Business Owner

Kris grew up in Plano, Texas. After receiving a Bachelor of Psychology degree from Texas A&M University, he returned to the Dallas area to study law at Southern Methodist University. While in law school, Kris was active in interscholastic advocacy competitions. Among his law school achievements, he was selected as the nation’s «Best Oral Advocate» during the American Bar Association’s National Moot Court Competition and he was inducted into SMU’s Order of Barristers upon graduation.

Kris began his career as an attorney at a large defense firm. There, he learned how cases are defended and the circumstances under which defendants pay to settle lawsuits. He then used that knowledge as he changed his practice and went to work as a plaintiff’s attorney for Windle Turley. At the Law Offices of Windle Turley, P.C., Kris handled numerous negligence cases, product liability cases, medical malpractice cases, and other personal injury matters for the firm’s clients.

Well what can I say, the Barber Law Firm is the best! When I was sideswiped by a car on 635 both my car and body were totaled. The other driver denied responsibility, even with the police report and countless witnesses saying he was at fault. I received a letter in the mail from his insurance company saying that I was being sued! Good thing at that time I had already contacted the Barber Law Firm. Terisa Owens was my contact person and was with me every step of the way. She made an awful situation so much better. I was in treatment for quite a while for injury to my neck and spine and she was very encouraging! After all of the facts were presented the other insurance company finally accepted that their driver was at fault. Thank goodness! The staff at the firm were easy to get in touch with and were prompt in returning my calls and emails. I would recommend this firm to anyone who finds themselves in a situation similar to mine. I endured a battle with a very agressive insurance company. My first lawyer I fired. I will not mention the name of the firm. I hired Kris and his team to take over my battle. I had to go through months of rehab and care. My car had to get rehab as well. The insurance company was very difficult even with the little things. But in the end thanks to The persistence of The Barber Law firm we avoided going to court. Kris went above and beyond. He exceeded my expectations and was very generous to me. I have also came to depend on Kris in my latest legal battle. He has been very helpful in referring me to a lawyer to defend me and to advise me in regards to a very difficult time. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS FIRM FIR A PERSONAL INJURY CAR ACCIDENT CLAIM. YOU WILL GET BETTER RESULTS HANDLING THE CLAIM YOURSELF WITH THE INSURANCE COMPANY. I was referred to this firm to help me with an auto accident I had wherein a guy with CDL license ran a red light and T-​Boned me. From day 1 I received nothing but negativity from this firm’s paralegals and case managers. My car was totaled and it took over a month to get a property damage settlement to get another car. And the entire time I’m trying to get help from the attorneys office, they are making excuses for the insurance company, told me at one point it wasn’t their job to get my damages settled i need to work that out woth the insurance company myself. Once I finally get another car I wait a few months to contact the Barber firm about settling the personal injury aspect of my claim, I even stopped treatment early because the doctor the firm referred me to was NOT helping my injury in any way. I even felt worse at times after a treatment session, and was physically ill twice. I get communication that my settlement is WAY below policy limits, not even 1⁄3. So I’m out of a car and transportation for over a month, I’m sent to a quack that made me feel worse than when I actually went to visit him to begin with and now for all my trouble I can’t even get enough money in my pocket to get a better car than the one I got with the property damage settlement. I would NEVER refer anyone to this firm ever. And what’s worse, I have worked in insurance defense as well as personal injury as a paralegal myself for 15 years. I just heard that the Barber form would really fight for me. That is sooooooo not the case. They did nothing but add to my stress.

This law firm is extremely knowledgeable and was upfront with a detailed explanation of what would happen and that remains true to this day. It’s been a little less than a year and I am very close to getting my settlement. Every time I emailed them I got a response same day, whether there was an update or not. They are extremely professional and honest and don’t just tell you what you need to hear, they tell you what’s doable and what’s really going to happen. I had broken bones and needed to recover, not worry about gathering paperwork and calling insurance companies. They handled everything. This was my first experience with using an attorney and hopefully my last but if anything like this ever happens again, I know who I am calling!!!

My dad had gotten hurt in a car accident where the other driver refused to admit wrong, we first went to a friend recommended law firm to seek help in settling this case, they weren’t very helpful which led us to the Barber Law firm that was also highly recommended, my dad and I could not be more pleased! we got to first speak to Kris Barber, who was extremely patient and attentive even for a small case like ours. Forgot the name of the lawyer who was assigned to us by Kris but she was great and had taken care of my dad very well, he could not be happier with the results and to this day still mentions his gratefulness for Kris and his team.
