Texas Health Center for Diagnostics & Surgery

This hospital and its staff are wonderful! I had a minor surgery there, and both my husband and I were quite impressed with the hospitality and genuine caring of the medical workers at THCDS (please mind that my husband used to work in a hospital and is not easily impressed). Everyone was very knowledgeable and professional, the nurses were attentive and personable, answered all my questions and showed amazing technic in starting an IV. My procedure required general anesthesia and I was warned that I might feel nauseous coming out of it. I did not have any of that and woke up feeling just a little tired. The procedure went very well and, even though it took only an hour, my husband who was waiting for me, was updated several times during the surgery, and the doctor came out to tell him it went well after it was over. I was very well cared for from the moment I stepped into the hospital at 6 AM until I was discharged at 10:30 AM.

This place is amazing. As soon as you get through the door, there are several people who will help you. Check in is very fast. There is plenty of room to sit in the waiting area. In the middle of surgery the person will come to you and advise you how surgery is going. After surgery you will talk to a Doctor. They have free coffee and snacks. It is super clean and organized.

I do not know how they continue to operate business as they do. If it wasnt for the very nice nurse who did my pre op, I would have given them no stars. So, to make a long story short I was not told until less than 24hrs prior to my surgery how much it would cost me. I had been calling and asking practically every other day what the full price would be for a hysteroscopy that my doc scheduled. No one at the center could tell me. I explained to them that i had a hdhp and would be paying out of pocket so i just needed to know the full price. Every answer i got was either we dont know we’re backed up, or someone will call you. The morning before my surgery they finally call and tell me it would be over $ 5000 that i needed to come up with before surgery. Baylor in frisco charged $ 2000 less. If texas diagnostics had told me the price ahead of time i would have been able to coordinate with my doctor and move the surgery. Needless to say, I cancelled my surgery. I will not be doing business with them.
