If the customer service at this location would have been better they would have gotten more stars. The good was good and fresh. It took 5 minutes for someone to approach the register to make my order. They were more concerned with talking about their night than the customers. Won’t be back to this location.

Is this the oldest Taco Bueno north of George Bush Turnpike? Hey Taco Bueno, this restaurant needs to be renovated or closed. It is dated and shows it’s age. Right now I will not be coming back to this location(I reserve the option to make a one-time trip when I’m craving tacos). The food is ok and the service is marginal yet I will not be making a return trip.

For starters, when you’re taking orders through drive through. Please repeat the order. Do not get an attitude when I ask for it to be repeated. This is just common customer service. Or repeat the order back and nearly everything be incorrect. I understand that it is hard to hear some orders at times. I really do. Second, when I pull to the window to pay you should always provide a receipt. The one time I do not check the order. I get home to realize that not only is the receipt not in the bag, there are also items missing from my order. I paid for them! Please be sure to check the order screens when filling the bags. The next time I come back & the above does not happen. I will update this status.

Gave it one star just for nostalgia reasons… these two stores need to be retrained. Not sure if this TB and the one at Legacy and Coit are franchised or corporate stores, but either way they really do suck… and I am an ardent TB fan. Worked for TB back when tacos were 29 cents and we took orders on a Plexiglas board with a grease pen. Past 4 times going to these stores 2 and 2 each, NEVER was my order correct. Needed 12 crispy beef tacos meat and cheese only, 4 crispy beef tacos all the way, 2 sides of beans, tostada, BFT… What did we get, 12 tacos all the way, 4 party tacos, meat and cheese only, regular crispy beef(no BFT), 2 beans that had had been in the steam well FAR too long and were so burnt, dried out, there was no way they came out of scoop without help and a tostada that was in 4 pieces. The meat in the tacos(whether regular or party) was the same maybe 1⁄8th to a ¼th of an inch and the shells tasted like they were cooked in old grease. You call them up and they ask if the orders were rang up correctly, which they were, and then told by someone who is definitely not near being ESL, maybe ETL tell me the order was processed correctly and I didn’t understand the menu!!! And all of this is on to go orders… they could care less what they throw in your bag. Last visit was today over at Parker and Independence. I guess at that store, if you are an English speaking white person trying to order, you’re screwed. Took 8 minutes to take my order with only 3 people in front of me, one white, 2 Hispanic. White lady placed her order just fine… in English… next two couldn’t speak English so they interrupted the Hispanic lady working the steamer to explain their order in Spanish, who then had to get the manager(also Hispanic) to whom they had to repeat his order to where she shoo’d the guy running the register(white kid), placed the two Hispanics orders(separate orders), looked at me walked away. I wish I had TB franchises as I would post large signs stating that«if you can place your order in understandable English, welcome to my Taco Bueno, if you can’t, then either go someplace else to eat or don’t complain when your order comes out wrong and we don’t fix it for you.»

Taco Bueno’s restaurants are typically always a little bit dated and a touch nasty compared to Taco Bell’s, but Taco Bueno compensates in the food department. The restaurant seems somewhere between fast food and a fast casual restaurant. The food isn’t amazing, but you get what you pay for. It’s still much better than what you’ll get at Taco Bell. Bueno always has a salsa bar too, and that alone makes Taco Bell irrelevant.

This place rocks better than most Mexican restaurants. I crave it!

The cheesecake chimis are amazingly good. That alone deserves 5 stars. The first time I went, I had a black bean burrito which was plain and mostly rice. It was pretty boring. The second time I went, I had the fish tacos. There really wasn’t much fish flavor, but whatever the sauce they put on was delicious. They also didn’t put in my chips which I had paid an extra $ 1 for, and they left out my kid’s cinnamon chips. Booooooo. Just check to be sure you’ve got everything, y’all. I’ll be giving them at least one more shot, but it may end there…

Taco Bueno is a throw back to my childhood in mid 90s, and this location was a few lights from my house. Oh how I miss you, manucured lawns and perfectly grid streets of Plano! The 69 cent(is it still 69 cents?) bean buritto cannot be beat. I may have picked up my gluten intolerance here, but its so worth it. Those muchachos are everything you want in a fast, tex-mex establishment. Individually filled hot sauce containers satisfied my then developing love of all things spicy. I didn’t even care that most of it was water. Hands down, Bueno’s better than Taco Bell.

I’m sad to say that in all 2 of my glorious years at Plano Senior, I have NEVER experienced Taco Bell. It’s really a blasphemy since I’ve lived in Plano so long, but my fiancé and all my high school friends swear by this place. Try it!

Its been a long time since I’ve eaten at Taco Bueno and I was pleasantly surprised. The beans, rice chips and salsa were as good as most sit down restaurants. I had to go back for seconds on the chicken taquitos. For fast food it’s 5-stars.

Maybe it’s just me, but I’ve always preferred Taco Bueno to it’s rival Taco Bell. This location, at Independence and Parker, is the nearest to my house and from my experience the best in the North Dallas area. They just seem to be quicker and more accurate than the others I’ve been to, friendlier as well. If you’re looking for something good and quick, try the Chicken and Potato Burrito. It’s tasty and on the cheap side, sitting pretty at $ 1.69.
